Oatmeal Chocolate Walnut Deluxe
Nipsy T.

Nice treats with friendly service. After dinner we were craving something sweet. This place fit the bill. Nice warm cookies were in order. I've always had a soft spot for oatmeal cookies and this one was pretty fantastic. Soft and chewy loaded with ingredients. Not cheap but not overkill either. Will try more variety next time I'm in Santa Barbara.

The empty box that was delivered
Lizzie B.

First of, this place gave me literal nightmares! On April 1st, 2026, I placed an order for six cookies. I received the delivery when we opened the box, it was empty! This is were the disrespect & unprofessional began. I called the store, as soon as the employee heard my name she hung up. I went to the store myself to see where the confusion was & to my surprise I was met with the most ridiculously rude & unpleasant service of my entire life. The employee told me that her manager Matthew had blocked my orders from Door Dash for asking for refunds. Mind you, the last two orders I placed, I did not receive the service I paid for, rightfully so- I asked DD for a refund. Like an any situation where the service is not met in a timely manner. Not only did the employee treat me like a criminal & made a bold accusation but tried to blame my child for placing orders & canceling them. That's where I drew the line and I asked her to address me & not my 10 year child. I walked out of there to walk back in as a customer. She had me waiting there for over 15 mins until my husband came in & she decided to greet him & totally dismissed me. The employee acted like the store was hers and she can pick & choose who she helped. Mind you, I was a paying customer who went to the store after receiving an empty box to purchase the cookies. If that's not an example of a customer with good intentions I don't know what is. The employee could have handled this in many different ways to start, call me as the orders show my number. Instead she did every single thing to intentionally make this experience the worst customer service experience, I even had nightmares. After contacting Door dash and sending a very long email to Insomnia, Door Dash verified no merchant can block a customer. That's not an option. Also, I learned they don't use DD drivers they use their own staff. So does that mean she literally drove and delivered the empty box herself? Meaning the intent was always there before I even knew what was happening?

The 6-Pack of classic...with the vegan option wrapped separately.

Insomnia Cookies located toward one end of downtown Santa Barbara. It's a chain but this location seems quiet for Sunday evening. Maybe patrons are watching their sugar intake but that concept didn't stop me from purchasing their 6 - pack! I'm addicted to sugar so what can I say. lol I've ordered my usual favorites - double chocolate, mint and chip and snickerdoodle. I also got some vegan (separated by paper). The cookies are thin and reasonably moist. I like to eat them when it's warm.

Got the double chocolate mint cookie ($3.29). I prefer Great American cookies. I feel like the cookie cuda been thicker. It was soft & great otherwise, not too sweet. This place has 1 of the cleanest bathrooms we've been to here.

We came here for dessert after dinner on Thursday the 14th while town in Santa Barbara. This place stays open late, which I'm sure they get some good business late at night when all other options are closed. They have nice variety of cookies, & are constantly baking them fresh. You can also get an ice cream sandwich or ice cream on top of a cookie too. Snickerdoodle is my go to.

The famous Insomnia cookies! Soft, rich fresh and delicious. The shop is located at the famous State Street in Santa Barbara. It is very clean and has cute decorations. They  have limited indoor seating. The service was fast. I just couldn't pass by without grabbing my favorite white chocolate macadamia. It is a coconuty cookie with macadamia and creamy white chocolate Chips. It was very delicious

This lady was rude and impatient with us. She rolled her eyes at my BF and had a snarky tone. We came in around 10-10:30 PM and they were out of majority of their cookies listed under deluxe. We've never been here before and we were a bit confused how to order, which okay we could've prepared before going up to the cashier however that didn't warrant her being rude to us. The cookies are forgettable. I got the confetti one and my BF got the chocolate chip. First and last time going unfortunately. 2 stars because the cookies were warm haha

Limoncello 9.88/10- I'm normally not a fan of butter or lemon cookies but this was FANTASTIC. It's made from lemon and butter dough and has candied lemon pieces inside. It's also topped with sugar, however I felt that it wasn't which I prefer more I don't really like straight sugar toppings . This cookie legit melts in your mouth- kinda reminded me of Mastros butter cake (take into consideration this is a stretch and the key word is kinda) with a hint of lemon. Highly recommend trying this seasonal special! Insomnia has a 4/20 deal!! Buy 1 get 1 cookie for free. Definitely take advantage of this deal in the last few hours

After all the hype for these cookies.... It didn't taste as I expected. We had the sugar and chocolate chip cookies. They were your normal cookies. Sugar as kind dry and the chocolate chip was ok. The cashier was very nice and upon arrival was immediately greeted. The store was clean which is something I always look at in good places. 7 - for cookies 9 - for service

i'm really not a cookie person, much less of a sweet tooth person (former!) but i was craving ice cream and tell me why all the ice cream/ gelato places in SB close so early like 10pm! we got the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie with a vanilla and chocolate scoop. not the most mind blowing but it satisfied my cravings ya know

Gluten Free Chocolate Chunk, Soy Bean Vanilla Ice Cream

You can never go wrong with cookies and ice cream. Insomnia Cookies is simple and straightforward- it's a late night cookie shop geared toward college students. So, if you want a quick, affordable dessert then I recommend it. While it was not "the best"cookie I've ever tasted, I left completely satisfied. PRO-TIP: If you have food sensitivities, the Santa Barbara location offers gluten free and dairy free options! I stopped by with a friend and was pleasantly surprised that they were serving GF Chocolate Chunk Cookies and Soy Bean Vanilla Ice Cream.

Birthday delivery FAIL. Website says cookies are delivered on time and warm. Turns out they use door dash and then can't even communicate with the driver. When I called at 9pm to see why the cookies weren't delivered at 5pm, the person on the phone told me that I should contact door dash to find out. WTH! I paid $42 for 12 cookies to be delivered by them (not door dash!) and this is the service that I get? Never again! Update: they never refunded me and now I have to spend my time disputing it.

Delicious drinks and baked goods! Friendly and very sufficient staff!…read more Kin Bakeshop has become my must visit and the main place I look forward to whenever we make a trip to Santa Barbara. Their drinks are addictedly delicious! I have tried several different ones from espresso, latte, to matcha and non-caffeinated drinks. Each one has been consistently great. 2 stars Due to their popularity, there's always almost a line out the door. However, if you follow them on IG, they do post update stories throughout the day about quantity status and how long the wait would be. They're pretty efficient, so even with a long line, I've never waited more than 20-30mins. 1 star The store is not meant for a sit down and hang out or study spot, but big enough to fit a good number of customers waiting around for drinks. 1 star They don't offer latte art or even hot drink, but ALL of their cold drinks and baked good are more than enough to make up for that! 1 star Really wish they'll start expanding soon. Central Coast can really use a great Asian coffee/bakery. As for now, I'll just have to drive down to Santa Barbara once or twice a month to get my Kin fix! This is the breakdown of my rating for coffee shops: Quality of coffee/drinks/food: up to 2 stars Consistently offer latte art: 1 Star Atmosphere: 1 Star Customer service: 1 Star

I was able to get to Kin in the morning and they had all of their sweets available so of course I had to splurge and try multiple ones. Their coco Jasmine marscapone was a surprise standout. It was incredible! Their Dubai banana was also really yummy. And finally, who doesn't love chocolate cherry anything? I love how they're all really fresh tasting and not overly sweet. I also tried their strawberry rose matcha and it was amazing! My husband got the pistachio cream topped espresso and he really enjoyed it. Service was quick despite the already out the door line.

Perfect Valentine's Day Breakfast Stop…read more Every time I'm driving into Los Angeles, I stop on State Street to charge my car -- and today (February 14th ) we decided to grab breakfast while we waited. Best decision ever. We stumbled upon this adorable donut shop, and they had the cutest Valentine's-themed donuts decorated for the day. My daughter immediately chose the chocolate one. I honestly didn't think she'd love it... but she ate the entire thing without hesitation. That says everything. Of course, I grabbed some donut holes for the road -- because that's just tradition at this point -- but the real star? The bagel sandwich. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel with egg, crispy bacon, tomato, red onion, and (because why not?) extra cheddar. It was DIVINE. Hands down the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly toasted, flavorful, just the right kick from the jalapeño cheddar -- I'm still thinking about it hours later. I may have to stop again on the way home because I genuinely can't get that taste out of my mind. If you're passing through State Street, do yourself a favor and try this place. Absolute gem.

GET READY FOR A TRANSCENDENT DONUT EXPERIENCE…read more Just off State Street on Figueroa, you'll find a donut shop that feels more like a craft breakfast kitchen with a serious pastry soul. The owner's love for their craft, staff, and product make for an inviting ambiance you don't find in many establishments in their class. DON'T MISS BREAKFAST Their menu goes far beyond donuts, blending whimsical, flavor-forward pastries with substantial breakfast sandwiches and bowls featuring bacon, turkey sausage, and mouthwatering, fluffy eggs that taste like they've been kissed with something buttery, creamy, and completely unforgettable. PASTRY IS IN THEIR DNA The first sign you're in the right place? Walking past stacks of pastry flour on your way to the donut counter. Nothing says "this is going to be good" like seeing the foundation of the craft right there in front of you. And these are not airy, forgettable donuts. These are brioche-style, flavor-filled, butter-forward creations that deliver exactly what the menu promises. CHOCOLATE CHERRY ALMOND OLD FASHIONED (OH MY) The Chocolate Cherry Almond Old Fashioned is in a class of its own. It surpasses every old fashioned donut I've had, with a light cake base, a low-oil profile, and none of the overly craggy, greasy edges you get from a less thoughtful donut. This is pastry territory. The chocolate and almond are subtle at first, then the cherry arrives with a dramatic full tastebud activation -- sweet, salt, fat, and bitter all working together. The cherry blooms at the back of your mouth like springtime near the Capitol in D.C. or a Japanese cherry blossom landscape. It's where cake and donut collide into something that redefines the experience for kids and kids at heart. SNAP-CRACKLE-POP TREAT WITH AN UPGRADE THAT'S SWEET The Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treat Donut is another five-star execution of both concept and flavor. The Rice Krispies are real -- not decorative. They sit in a marshmallow flow atop a lightly sweet donut that oozes buttery goodness, with just the right touch of salt to elevate the sweetness and add that extra delight on the palate. I'LL BE BACK! Hook & Press is not just making donuts. They're creating edible moments. Santa Barbara is lucky to have them.

My husband and I found parking right away on the street so that was already a great sign. Especially in SB. We went a little before 12 and there wasn't a lot of people. I got the strawberry milkshake donut and the apple fritter. My daughters devoured the strawberry milkshake one. I have tried a lot of different apple fritter donuts and this one wasn't my favorite. It wasn't a strong apple taste and the donut seems too fluffy for an apple fritter. But the WINNER was the salted brown butter latte. It was perfection. I loved everything about it. I will definitely be back for the coffee and may try some other donuts.

I got a small froyo which ended up being HUGE. I was shocked with their serving size because it was so much for only $9. Anywhere else this would probably be $20 lol. With the small you can get four flavors so i got horchata, peanut butter, honey vanilla, and graham cracker. All of the flavors were so yummy, not to sweet, and creamy as could be. He is a fan of McConnell's and wanted to grab some ice cream after our dinner. This location only has 3 parking spots plus 1 handicap spot. Thankfully we found parking on the street and there was a line of people waiting to get in. Once inside, Christie was the girl who helped us and she couldn't have been more pleasant and kind. She was very upbeat, energetic and did not rush us at all as we tried to make our decisions. She was more than happy to give us as many samples as we wanted. Since this location had frozen yogurt and the one by our home doesn't, my son decided to go for that. He got Horchata, Greek Yogurt, and Peanut Butter flavors in one cup. For his toppings he got rainbow sprinkles and chocolate chips. I had a few spoonfuls of it and it was DELICIOUS! Great texture, super smooth and decadent, while still being light.
