I have used a few different meal prep services and Healthy Warrior is my favorite. They offer actually sustainable food with good portions and variety. Of the different food prep services I have tried, it reminds me most of home cooked food, which I think is a good thing! We are staying in Nipomo while we work remotely and haven't had any luck with healthy meal prep companies. Thankfully we visited Santa Barbara for a weekend and when I did a quick search on Yelp, HWMP was the first to come up. Healthy warrior is the best! We started it because I was so sick during my pregnancy that my husband was having trouble managing all my needs, the cooking, and the needs of our 2 year old. We opted for the dinner only option which is 5 nights a week (weeknights). We do pick up the food at nutri shop which requires 3 trips a week but as a result everything is very fresh! (You get 2 meals at a time with the dinner option). The meals are nutritious and delicious. Healthy warrior is also accommodating for dietary restrictions (ex: pregnancy). We plan to continue healthy warrior through the end of pregnancy and the highs and lows of the newborn phase. It has made our life and evenings so much easier! read more

I met Mia working on her apartment. I was immediately impressed by her positive can do attitude. It takes a special person to turn a disaster like COVID into an opportunity. She took her skills form years as a resort chef and made them available to locals who may not be able to go to the posh resorts even if they were open. She takes time to talk with each new eater to learn their likes and dislikes and comes up with a new surprise for them as often as they would like. My wife and I have been very happy so far. My daughter can be a little harder to please but I think that is partially my fault for spoiling her. I started Healthy Warrior a few years ago and it changed my life! A demanding work schedule and busy lifestyle often had me forgetting to eat meals. There just simply was not enough time to cook, or even order take out, especially during the traditional lunch hour. I had difficulty making it to the grocery store regularly. I tried food box delivery services such as Green Chef and Purple Carrot, but time was constrained having to cook those. I needed tasty, healthy meals that were already fully prepared so that all I had to do was grab and go. A quick Google search led me to Healthy Warrior. The business was not on Yelp at the time and no one in my social circle had heard of it, so I rolled the dice and gave Healthy Warrior a try. The owner Mia was responsive and gracious. She asked my husband and I questions to help her tailor our meals to suit our individual needs and nutrition goals. We each opted for the full service package of three fully prepared meals a day with two snacks, five days a week. In the beginning, the food was delivered free of charge to our doorstep in the wee hours of the morning or late at night in a reusable, insulated bag. You can also opt to pick up your food from a designated location. The meals are delicious, nutritious and convenient. They are fully customizable. During my pregnancy about a year later, I had a ton of dietary restrictions that HW was more than happy to work around now. Post pregnancy brought a different sleuth of restrictions due to breastfeeding. Again, HW has been more than willing to accommodate. We are presently on the dinner plan - five dinners for two weekly, perfectly portioned for each of us. Some of my favorite meals have included flavorful bison, swordfish, salmon, and braised chicken breast. If you find yourself short on time for preparing meals, or are simply tired of dining out yet like the convenience of someone else making your meals, I definitely recommend giving Healthy Warrior a try. read more

I've been on the Healthy Warrior Lean plan for about three months now and it's been awesome. Fresh food delivered three times a week right to my door step and I can just swoop it up on my way to work in the morning. The meals themselves are healthy and tasty and come fresh from the farmer's market so no two weeks are ever the same- tons of variety! I have been on the "Healthy Warrior" plan (3 meals + 2 snacks a day) for about 2 months now, and I love it! The meals are healthier and less expensive than eating out, and there is way more variety than I'd ever get cooking for myself (not to mention all the time saved). Some of my favorites so far are the protein pancakes with nut butter and fresh berries, turkey tacos, and the soba noodle salad. I love that they use locally sourced meat and produce, that they customize the meals for my tastes (I specified no seafood and haven't had any issues!), and I really appreciate that they reuse all of the plastic containers the food is served in. No waste, no time spent shopping and cooking, and a much healthier, tastier diet than I had before. It's everything I wanted in a meal service. read more

I finally jumped on the bandwagon of New Year's resolutions to kick of 2018--only three months late! My cliché goal was to lose my extra pudge so I joined a local gym. Meanwhile, I met a lovely young gal named Mia Pasqualucci during one of her Vinyāsa yoga classes. A neighboring yoga participant whispered to me that Mia has started a meal prep company that focuses on providing all local, organic produce/meat (from Oat Bakery, SB Fish Market, and Roots Organic Farm, to name a few...) meals. Mia worked for the Four Seasons Biltmore as a resort chef and had the desire to connect her two passions of helping others create a healthy lifestyle and cooking. When I expressed interest, Mia met with my partner and I at our house to discuss our food preferences (i.e. no seafood), allergies (i.e. nuts, lactose), and weight goals. She went over the multiple meal package/diet and week options to choose from: Maintain, Lean, Gain/Bulk, Lunch Only, Dinner Only, and Snack Packs; Two, four, six or eight week. A few sample meals that I have received are as follows: Breakfast: Quiche with Chicken or Turkey sausage, Berry Greek yogurt power granola, Chia seed overnight oats Lunch: Steak arugula quinoa salad, tuna wrap, power bowl of chicken and vegetables Dinner: Mahi mahi, salmon, bison chili, or turkey meatballs with sides like celery root smash, yams, brussel sprouts, brown rice or kale Snacks: Fresh or dried fruit, hulk bars, coconut granola bars, chocolate avocado pudding Three weeks ago I joined by taking advantage of the full week (5 days) meal prep which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees, plus two snacks per day . I am extremely pleased with the freshness, flavor, variety in food items and lack of cravings due to generous portions. My food is delivered Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday nights in a black cooler bag featuring a descriptive menu for each meal and how much nutritional content is included (protein, carbs, fat, etc). Healthy Warrior makes it super easy to fit eating well into my schedule with little to no time commitment by not requiring cooking (only a microwave is needed) or running to the grocery store. Unlike other delivery companies like HelloFresh or Blue Apron, I have no waste or food arrive moldy, no cooking/cleaning needed, and no produce coming from unknown companies. I've had my meals delivered at home three times a week for the past nine months. No prep and no cleanup is awesome. I've experimented with vegetarian, pescatarian and grain-free options in addition to requesting that none of my meals contain eggs or mushrooms. Mia has delivered on all counts, and the food is tasty. As a side note, I've never found a hair in my food, which, when you do the math of how many meals that is (270 dinners) and think about the odds of that not happening even once, is pretty impressive. Due to some upcoming travel for work opportunities, sadly, I was forced to cancel my subscription to Healthy Warrior. I think this might be the first Yelp review I have ever written, but I feel very strongly about the service HW provides. The menu is diverse and well thought out, not to mention incredible on the taste buds- heavy emphasis on "incredible". If you're thinking about a meal service plan and locally sourced foods (I don't want to make promises on the company's behalf but I believe most/all of it is local) pique your interest, you should seriously consider giving HW a look. I started using healthy warrior a few weeks ago and I'm thrilled! The food is delicious and healthy at the same time. Mia sources her food from the farmers market, the fish market, etc. She is very easy to work with and will customize according to an individual's food preferences. Everything is as healthy as she can possibly find. Each meal is different and delicious! When we wake up on monday, wednesday and friday morning we find the food on our doorstep in a cooler. The portions are generous and we are never hungry. I have been telling all my friends about healthy warrior because I think it's a fabulous company.
