Let me start off by saying I have a major sweet tooth and love Insomnia Cookies. I have frequented the Johns Hopkin/Charles Village location for the past four years and have never had a bad experience. This place honestly, just does not live up to it. I came here for the first time tonight with my two roommates. I ordered a snickerdoodle cookie, double chocolate mint cookie, and the deluxe s'mores cookie. The girl working at the front accidentally gave me a peanut butter cookie, which normally I would not be one to complain, but I really wanted the snickerdoodle I ordered. After telling the girl, she proceeded to put the cookie back to be served to someone else. Although I am not allergic to peanut butter, she also did not ask if I was or if she could switch out the double chocolate mint that the peanut butter cookie had already touched. Had I been allergic to peanut butter, this would have been a very careless mistake in my opinion (I also understand someone who is allergic would've probably told them themselves). But I still think this is very unsafe practices and probably violates some rule somewhere. The location itself, I understand is uptown Towson and the area is small. So don't expect to get a seat if you want to eat there because there is only one table with three chairs. read more

I will say I have been a bit disappointed in the selection of cookies lately, usually there are more varieties to choose from. Cookies are fine, it's the app and the delivery I have an issue with. The tracker in the app is trash and never updates beyond "baking." Delivery service has also consistently been frustrating, as my delivery instructions are never followed. I ask them to ring the doorbell to let me know the cookies are there, but it never happens. They just toss the box on my front step and leave. So I will be waiting inside and the cookies are just outside, sometimes sitting in the rain. read more

Absolute garbage establishment. I ordered a pack of cookies and 1 was missing. On top of that, the cookies were all broken. The delivery driver was nice but when I called to get a refund or some sort of compensation for my missing cookie, the guy was no help. He didn't know how to use the system, he couldn't find my name, and he said he couldn't issue a refund on one cookie. I asked for them to delivered it back here and here we are hours later and still nothing. You guys suck, train your employees better. No cookie is worth it. read more

I have for the love of my sugar habit cut down on sweets. Yeah then this place opens near my job and school. They stay open late, good I get off late and the bars are still open. Walking in today was everything. I dislike the small space of the front area but love it at the same time. Makes you feel like your just close but not too close to everything. My wife ordered some cookies as a surprise for our daughter who is in Towson ( we live out of state). After not hearing from our daughter that she received the cookies, my wife called the Towson location and spoke with a gentleman and after being given the story delivery wasn't done because the Driver called our daughter and she didn't answer. It's contactless delivery, so no need to call. After talking for a few minutes asking if the order would be redelivered and why she wasn't notified that there was an issue, the guy hung up on my wife! My wife called back since she never got an answer and got a female employee who was agitated to begin with, at one point told my wife she was talking over her which she was not, she was trying to explain the situation and get an answer as to whether the order would be redelivered. The employee also said she was pregnant and just started the shift and wasn't present for the delivery. After my wife asked for a refund she was hung up on again! My wife called again, got the woman who then said she was putting my wife on speaker phone, Not sure what was meant by that, but ok. My wife asked for a manager and was told the female was the manager then stated she had no delivery people and she would have to use a 3rd party to deliver. she also stated she would call us when delivery happened... We are still waiting on that call. But she did call our daughter to complain to her that my wife was yelling at them. So glad you have time for that call. And NO you weren't being yelled at. So she had to explain the whole situation to her...Way to ruin a surprise cookie delivery! 30 dollars for a box of 12 cookies and a tip, hoping you get great service and you get this. Seems from other reviews this location has customer service issues, shame on us for not reading those first. I also noticed Management and or owners don't respond on yelp. Today was my second time at this location. My first experience was amazing. My girlfriend had never been to Insomnia Cookies before. I told her how great this place is and how good the cookies taste. Today was not a good day to take her to this location. The girl working the front was rude. She didn't greet us when we walked in. She was focused on what was going on in the back with what her co worker was doing instead of the customers in the front. Once she acknowledged us being there she had a horrible attitude.
