Had to go back and try out Inspirada Barber & Beauty. Was a little worried cuz the last time I got a cut here, it was kind of rushed and a little choppy but I thought I'd try another barber and was sat in X's seat. X is short for Xzavier. I showed him what I wanted and he was like "I got u fam". Never got a fade before and we were doing a mid skin fade and I'll tell ya it's CLEAN AF. Plus X had a great conversation going. Talked about his daughter, talked about where he's from, talked about what we like about the neighborhood and hoping we get a nice ice cream shop or something in the area. A racist owner leaving a remark about my, "6 month, unkept dirty and unwashed hair". Also I never said a single thing about great clips, matter of a fact, we didn't even have a conversation. I got a cut there 1 month prior to receiving my most recent cut. Luckily jack the actual skilled barber was there. If you don't appreciate a customer just coming in to receive business, just simply decline the service instead of being a disappointment. This place used to be my go to barber shop, but over the course of 2 months ive made 2 appointments and was forgotten about. The first time I made an appointment over the phone, they asked for my name and what time I'd like to come in. I said 3pm. When I got there they had said there was no one scheduled for an appointment. I waited for about 30 mins for another barber to be free, but ended up leaving when more people with appointments started showing up. Fast forward to today. Same situation, I called, told them my name and what time I can be there, 3pm. Now here I am sitting in my car in front of the store because they are CLOSED. I understand its super bowl sunday today, but why not tell me you're closing early instead of making a promise you can't keep?!?! I needed a haircut very badly. My old spot was closed! Really harsh as I know you know the amount of time it can take to find that hair professional that meets all your requirements. I ventured out to Yelp to find that new person to cut my hair and found Inspirada B&B. Looking at their services list I found terminology that fueled my confidence like "low fade" and "zero fade". I called in advanced to make an appointment and discovered that "walk-ins are okay and I drove immediately to Anthem for my haircut. When I arrived it's not fancy. It's in a strip mall anchored by an amazing Albertsons where they are selling four packs of AAA and AA batteries for 10 for $10... but I digress... I was greeted by a very nice lady named Eliza. She brought me over to her chair and proceeded to turn my mop into a quaffed mane, neat and athletic. She was easy to talk with and very nice and peaceful. Easy listening music... Please note that if you use a charge or debit card, they charge a 3% fee. Cash and checks have no fee. It is not a fancy spa, boutique, but it gets the job done and well. Update: We went back and the owner did his best to fix his hair, refunded our money and gave us a gift certificate to return to fix it once it grows out a little. The person who gave him the original cut has been let go. My husband got a cut there too and they did an amazing job. It was a great experience and we will return. This was the worst haircut my son has ever had. I requested that she leave it long, just clean it up a little bit. She immediately pulled out the clippers and clipped a long line up his head. At that point there was nothing I could do but let her clip the rest because now he had a stripe on the side of his head. She proceeded to cut most of his hair off, very unevenly. Then, as she was going around his ears he kept telling her it hurt, afterwards I could see that he was bleeding and made her stop before she was done. I told her I did not like it and it wasn't what I asked for, she just proceeded to charge me $18 for this mess. They offered him the little car to sit on and he must have felt at ease because he said he wanted the big boy seat. I went in with my natural darkest brown hair color (about level 3) and asked for an all over color going for a vibrant red. Eliza bleached my hair for only 10 mins and started with my roots. EVERYONE knows you don't start bleaching hair by the roots!! My hair is so dark she should have bleached it for at least 30+ minutes. I payed $210 and literally left in tears. The red hair pic is what I asked for... the other one is what I left with. She tried to argue about what I said I wanted. What???? I simply showed her a few pics and said this is what I want. I was 100% clear. Then she tried to charge me $55 to re-lighten it to fix it. Seriously WTF?! I was just there a couple of weeks ago, frustrated with the high prices of the Vegas area, even for just a #2's all over! I called and asked how much for number 2's all over and the gentleman said $20.00. I said done, I'll be right over. I'm, like alot of the geographical potential clientele, senior and don't have alot of money, They cut my hair and i paid and tipped 5 bucks since I was so happy at the time. I see in other reviews they charge 22 and 25 bucks for the same thing. If that's the case, I'll buy a shaver and do it myself. There's no reason a buzz cut for a sr should be more than $20. We love this place since it is in our neighborhood. Tim, the owner is always welcoming when we arrive. He offers donuts, coffee, drinks (pre covid). Now, he makes sure that we observe social distancing and provides mask to the customer. Clearly he is taking his business and customers' Heath and safety. My son and I go to specialist is Mark or Elaiza, however Mark schedule is usually 5-11 am so most of the time we see Elaiza (both are great, though). But kept on coming back bc Yuni is exceptional, detailed, seasoned and more than values every single client. She knows all her regulars by name- AND trust me, she's got many. Walked in at 8:30 on a Sunday morning and Mark was able to sit me down immediately. I hadn't had a haircut in months but this one was way better than the last few places I went to. I didn't know exactly what I wanted but I gave Mark a couple of guidelines and I was very happy with the end result! I have lived in the area for a year now and I've been coming to this place for all my haircuts. I have never had an appointment and take whoever is available. All of the girls have been great. I have never been disappointed. Tim has done great things with the place since taking over. Today I went in and had some changes made to a haircut I got 3 days ago.
