I have gone in to get my hair done and recently had a facial. I really enjoy this salon and their services. Their products to our quality I love the way everything smells. The salon is clean. Everybody is friendly and welcoming. The hair services I have received have been from Camelia. She has worked on my hair and done root touch., condition conditioning treatments, blowouts, haircuts, and gloss. Camelia is very attention to detail and I love that because I am very detailed oriented as well so I appreciate that. I enjoy her head massage. That is the best part when I go I feel relaxed refreshed and looking my best. The facial I received is with Abby they had a promotion with their skin products that if I purchased a product then I would get a free 30 minute facial I have been wanting to try Aveda's skin services and I was not disappointed. Abby did a great job with my skin. I felt heard with all of my concerns and she addressed them as well. She gave me a nice massage and when I left, I was very relaxed and my skin felt do we moisturized and plump. I also bought a product that she recommended that I'm very excited to use. This place is hopeless now. This was a good salon before Covid. There are zero people still working here from that time as their stylists went elsewhere during a period of drama. They now charge sky high prices for stylists with next to zero experience, and continually sneak their fees up without saying anything. I had three rude encounters with the front desk employees (who refused to connect me with a manager) and I'm done now. She has only two ideas and I also showed her a picture of the whole time I was there she did not speak to me at all or smile, or even tell me and my hair look good when she was done. This Aveda Salon is very expensive, which made me think that the stylists would be more creative and experienced than elsewhere. The first time, I asked to make an appointment for a haircut with the most experienced stylist and was recommended Tracy at $90.00 for the haircut. The haircut seemed better than the average so I returned. The second time, her haircut was just mediocre. Lack of technique means that in 3 weeks your style is already gone. I also noticed a tendency to add color work at high cost ($8.00 per foil!) and charge extra for the use of products ($5.00 for putting some styling gel). I have never had a bad salon experience, and absolutely HATE having to write this. These people are incompetent and could not care less about what style, cut, or color you are going for. They completely screwed up multiple things and could seemingly care less. Honestly, I get the impression that's just the custom experience. First of all, the front desk staff apparently doesn't know what balayage is. Something that should be imperative for a salon with full service color options. Before quarantine I saw a stylist (diff salon) who did the first step in dark ash blonde balayage which involves the process of painting the ends blonde. A good balayage usually takes 2 appointments as to not fry your hair. The girl who did the first one decided to move out of state before restrictions were lifted. So I called to make an appointment for a full color / full balayage and requested a colorist who had a lot of experience doing it. When I showed up and started to consult the stylist, Maritza, she was confused as I was apparently scheduled for a full highlight. She informed me that she didn't have time to do the full color. I said no problem, I can come back. She said, how about I do the first half of the process and have you come back in a couple days when i have time to finish (to pull the low lights through/add the darker color). So I agreed. I showed her pictures of exactly what I was going for and stressed that more than anything I want to make sure to use an ASH toner for an ash tone. This isn't my first rodeo and unless you use FULL ash toner on my hair it always turns yellow / orange. Anyway, she proceeds to do FULL balayage lightening. It's a very specific technique - Pull a big chunk, half it, tease the hair up with a rat-tail comb, paint the ends blonde, repeat). I know this is a balayage technique because I have had it done numerous times. She proceeded to bleach the majority of my hair to just a few inches to the root completely frying 3/4 of my hair even though I was very specific that I only wanted the last few inches lightened and had showed her images of exactly that. I have been devastated because I have been growing out my hair for a long time and now it's mostly fried. I am going to have to chop it off soon for sure. So I go to check out and Tracy tells her to charge me for full-highlights which is not what she did and also the same price as full balayage. Full highlights, where you bleach tiny pieces of hair over the full head, takes about twice as long to do than what was done to me. She also came back with a yellow toner so as you can guess, my hair is FREAKING YELLOW. :-( Now if I want to go back and get my hair fixed I have to pay for another full color appointment. Basically I am going to end up paying $400 for something that should have cost under $200 with tip. I reached out 2 times through email to explain what happened and see if someone would help fix it. It's been 4-6 weeks at this point and...Nope. No one has reached out or bothered to call or email me back. Seriously, SCREW this place. I hope someone sees this and is able to avoid a similar nightmare. read more

Love this place! I just moved to longmont from Southern California and needed to find a new person to do my hair. I made an appointment with Bethany and she is amazing. She sat and listened to everything I had to say about changing the color of my hair and she did exactly what I wanted her to do. She is also very friendly and very personable and she gave me a lot of Information on our new hometown. I would highly recommend her and I will be going back soon. So above is my original post but I needed to update it. I went back for my second appointment and they had somehow deleted My appointment and had to reschedule it. Reading some of the other reviews I have seen that this seems to be a problem at this salon. If you choose to go here make sure that you do get the text confirming your appointment because if you don't that means they have somehow canceled your appointment. I rescheduled with another gal because my grays were popping out pretty bad and I couldn't get another appointment with my original gal for about another month. Unfortunately I do not think the gal I rescheduled with knows color at all. She completely screwed up my color and after 3 1/2 hours I left the salon in tears. read more

I went in yesterday to get my hair cut and colored and left very disappointed. I do not recommend this place to anybody. Any other place in Longmont would be better than going here. $170 later I ended up With an orange stripe down my head where the color did not process and An uneven haircut. When I called to see if I could get this fixed I was told I would have to pay an additional fee For a "master stylist" to fix it. I recommend going anywhere else but this place. I love this Aveda. I've been going here ever since I've lived in Longmont, and I refuse to go anywhere else. Hollybelle is my stylist and she is fab. I only ever get my hair cut (not dyed), and she's always done excellent work -- plus she is a complete joy to talk to which is more than I can say for many other stylists I've had over the years. I love that Aveda is right downtown so it is easy for me to walk to... but there's plenty of public parking around back or on the other side of Main (off Coffman) so parking is quite easy as well. read more

Had a $75 gift certificate, so scheduled a 60 minute Tulasara facial with an added 30 minute perfecting plant peel for an additional $20. I had an appointment at noon on a Thursday. The place was pretty busy when I showed up (about 10 minutes early), I waited about 15 minutes to be called, confirmed with my aesthetician both of my treatments, and seemed to wait longer than usual after getting on the table for my treatment. Not much to say good or bad, it was an average facial. I have been going to Selena since she started at the salon. I hate changing stylist so I stuck it out with her for a few years but rarely got the results I was looking for. She didn't write down her formulations so there's always a line of demarcation. That means a new band of color every time I got my hair done. Which also means a color correction is inevitable. I recall her asking other stylist to formulate for her, and she still didn't write it down. I also dealt with toning with the wrong color leaving me with orange and blue tinted hair. Twice. And purple once, when we were going for blonde. Imagine going in for multidimensional blonde and coming out with, purple, blue or orange hair! I've also dealt with her lopping off about five inches without verifying the length before doing so. All because she was in an emotional mood. Incredibly unprofessional. Her cuts are fine but I'd recommend asking for an advanced stylist to color your hair. *I found this review in my yelp drafts from last year and had never posted it. I visit this salon when I'm in town, which is 1-2 times a year. I've had wonderful past experiences with Taylor (saw her several times over a year or two - she's no longer there), and now Sabrina (seen her for a year and a half). I needed some intense work on my hair this week and happened to be in town, so I booked 6 appts. with various stylists. The stylists are good...HOWEVER, the treatment I've gotten by the front desk staff - Haley, Nicole, etc., has been SO mismanaged, disorganized, put on hold for 5-10 minutes several times, not friendly or helpful, not told which of the 2 locations to go to (twice this happened in 2 days time - and it happened to another client when I was there), an "ok, whatever" attitude (no apologies or I'm sorry's, no thank you's for coming, no we're glad you're here's, no how can I help you's. I mean geez, it's like really? I know y'all aren't in the South, but c'mon. At least try and fake some quasi-medium level of customer service with a better attitude. I called Nicole yesterday and asked her to have a manager call me. No call this morning. I called again this morning and got Nicole again. Asked again to speak with a manager. No call 2.5 hours later. Yes, I called again - I must be a glutton for piss-poor customer service. At this point I'm like, ok, I'm just going to see how long it takes. And yes folks, no call. SO, (I know, you are telling me in your head not to call again, right?), at this point I call again... I will edit this post and provide more details. This place deserves a 0. This year was my senior prom. Being a regular Aveda customer in Loveland I expected the same level professionalism and skill when I went in to get my hair and makeup done. Apparently, this was far too much to ask from this business. I should have known better when the lady they directed me towards had wonky makeup and reached for blue eyeshadow. However, me being who I am, I hesitated to tell her what she was doing to my face wasn't desirable. They are professionals right? I'm supposed to trust them. I worked up the guts to say I didn't like what makeup she was putting on, she added layer after layer to try to correct her errors with dark heavy makeup. She didn't want me to see the mirror because she said (in a frustrated tone) that I would like it when it was done. Leading me over to get my hair done I met the next lady. She was beautiful and her curls where gorgeous so I felt like I was in better hands. When she sat me down in the chair I had to look in the mirror at that awful makeup. I looked like I had two black eyes. I was holding back tears. Then, I couldn't stop crying. My hair didn't look very good so I brushed it out. They still charged me for the god awful makeup. It's my senior prom right? It might be shallow but it's true. As a young lady I know how important it is to feel beautiful or even comfortable on occasion. This review is strictly in reference to Marion the Esthetician. She is rude, passive aggressive, and has a double standard between herself and customers. My family and I have been going to Inspire for the past 5 years and absolutely love the environment and the people. Marion's demeanor and interaction with customers is very incongruent with the values and practices of Inspire and I would not be writing this review unless I felt it was absolutely necessary. In all the times we've been we have NEVER experienced anything like Marion before. The salon called me to let me know Marion was running about 15 minutes behind schedule and I may be waiting in the waiting room for a bit. I said that's totally fine, I may be a few minutes late as well (within 5 minutes of my appointment start time). I received a call back a few minutes later asking me to reschedule because Marion was now on time and I was the one running late. I asked to speak with Marion directly and was informed that it was unfair to her and her clients for the rest of the day if I had pushed her day back by 5 minutes because we needed the full hour, when it was perfectly okay if she had been 15 minutes late for me. I go to college in Boulder but think so highly of Inspire that I planned my day around this appointment and had payed for an uber, just to be told not to come and turn around because I would be a few minutes late. Cant believe I wasted money traveling to an appointment with someone so hypocritical. Once again, never am the person to write a bad review. Love everything else about Inspire and feel bad bringing the rating down but Marion is going to lose this salon so much business if this continues. Will not be bringing my business to her any longer but am still a big fan of Inspire as a whole. Other customers however, may not be able to look past this. This is my mega indulgence in Longmont. I love Aveda products, and this place does well by them. I like the displays, lots of product and jewelry to drool over while waiting. Also, sipping that mug of yummy Aveda tea really encourages relaxation. My haircuts have been GREAT and I just got some highlights that are perfect. The little treatment room is a little awkward to get to, and I can't really imagine this place as a day spa. It's a small (cozy), cute, place with talented people and graduated pricing. While the stylist was nice and friendly the scalp massage lasted seconds and the haircut was terrible. After having several really bad hair cuts through the years, some at expensive salons and some at Great Clips, I finally decided to give Inspire Salon a try. I am a fan of Aveda products, so it was a nice experience. A stylist named Amethyst cut my hair and I haven't had a cut this good in so long! She listened to all my hair woes - frizzy, puffy, too much volume, mushroom shaped, etc. and gave me an adorable cut that I can style curly or straight. It has a great shape to it and is very trendy and modern looking, not soccer mom drab and boring. I will definitely go back to see Amethyst for all my future hair cuts. I am so happy with my hair and have rarely been able to say that! One gripe I have with the actual salon that I think would be important for patrons to know about... they do not let you tip with your credit card! Please join this century, Inspire Salon! I was able to pay for my hair cut with my credit card, but they only allow cash and check tips. Who carries cash and checkbooks any more? Not me. The receptionist directed me to an ATM that was 2 blocks up the road, but it was sadly out of order. I had to leave my appointment without tipping and I felt really mortified, especially after getting such an amazing hair cut from Amethyst. Please owners and managers of Inspire, get with it! I love Aveda products but have a concern with a stylist there. She was not consistent at all. The first time I visited, I loved the color. I went back 30 days later and asked for the exact same thing as I had a big birthday coming up and I wanted it to look great. Instead she decided to change the color in the back to almost black! I should have known something was wrong because she didn't give me a mirror to check the back. When I called Inspire Salon I was told it would fade within a week. 3 weeks later and it's still almost black. I am so dissapointed. read more

I love my hair and have received a number of compliments. My regular stylist left recently and I was really nervous about trying someone new. Taylor gave me a great cut and highlights but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. The style was very pretty and soft. I wanted a little sharper and more trendy but didn't know how to communicate that. I rescheduled a time for Taylor to tweak my cut and she quickly (and patiently) helped translate my blundering "too feathery" and "more choppy" into exactly what I wanted. I was gifted a gift certificate here and I planned to use it for a hour massage. Kayla was my masseuse and she was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and just super friendly. She was definitely skilled and I felt good afterwards. HOWEVER, the room my massage was in was in the back of the studio, therefore I could hear all of the salon noise and talking through out my massage. I would definitely suggest they sound proof the rooms and/or get some sort of noise cancelling machine. LOVE this salon. It's the perfect blend of down to earth and unpretentious employees/ great products/ a little trendy, but not too much. I've gotten my hair cut twice here (by Lindsey, who is AWESOME), and couldn't be happier with my experiences. There is a little product pushing that goes on, but I don't care because the products are good and smell amazing. Weird payment thing- If you use a card to pay, tips have to be in cash. If you pay by check, though, you can include the tip in the check amount. Not a problem, just something good to be aware of. My boyfriend got me a day of beauty here for my 30th Birthday. I got a facial, hair cut, style, and pedicure. The price was really reasonable and the staff is super friendly. You are not able to put a tip on your credit card so bring cash for that. It was explained to me that they believe that your quality of service should not be driven by the hope of a good tip and that you should get quality service everytime. I had a haircut done by Annalise and it was amazing. She listened to what I wanted to have done and also gave me her professional opinion. Before she washed my hair I got an awesome neck and scalp massage which was just what I needed because I get nervous getting my hair cut. She washed, cut, and styled my hair in 45 minutes. My first appointment was canceled due to one of the hairdressers being sick. The salon was very accommodating and professional about making it up to me. I wasn't pressured into buying any product.
