This was my first experience at Sunflower Spa. It's a little out of my way but worth it! The whole place is very cute and all of the staff was friendly. I had a manicure and pedicure with Kate. She was easy to talk to and did a great job with my nails. They use Vinylux nail polish. It dries fairly quickly and isn't tacky for hours after. I'm officially a convert from OPI nail polish! I only have one complaint and that's the pedicure seating. It isn't very comfortable. The seating looks cute but it's not as comfortable as the massage style chairs at other spas. On top of the great service I noticed that all of the staff gets along well. They help each other out, clean up each other's stations, etc. It really felt like a professional, family run business. I had a hydrofacial here a little more than a week ago, and a consultation. I started with the consultation. It felt more like a sales pitch than anything. All I got from it was to try hydrofacials or microneedling. Nothing I could try at home, no other options that were cheaper, etc. But I did opt to try a hydrofacial. The hydrofacial was fine I guess. For me, some of the fun parts of a facial are the head/scalp or neck rub, but this facial doesn't do that. Not a big deal, the 6+ facials I had gotten this year did so it's not like I needed it. Following the facial, I felt fine. I woke up with a huge underground pimple above my lip, so that bummed me out. I assumed it was my skin getting rid of acne and everything coming to the surface after the facial. The pimple didn't go away for a week, and I started to develop 6-7 more blemishes. On a normal day, I had 1-3. So this was odd for me. It's been 9 days since the facial, I still have 5 of those blemishes even though I've been taking care of my skin at home. She also recommended I buy an $80 serum they sell. I'm not sure why, that just always annoys me. I way prefer when salons or spas recommend their expensive option THEN a cheaper option (maybe from Amazon or Sally's) knowing people don't want to spend $150 on a facial then another $80 on a serum, plus tip. I didn't buy it obviously. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

My daughter and I have been frequenting Sunflower Spa since the summer of 2017 when we first moved back to Colorado. We were new to Longmont and needed to find a great place for pedicures. I took to the internet and found Sunflower Spa. When we started going there they had not yet expanded their building space to open Polish. Polish opened in 2020 to solely provide manicures and pedicures. It was awesome before they expanded and now with the addition of Polish open it's even more fabulous. The aesthetics of Polish and Sunflower Spa are fantastic. There are large windows which let in a ton of sunshine, the chairs are extremely comfortable with lots of pillows for lumbar support and overall comfiness. The facility is EXTREMELY clean and all of their instruments for mani's and pedi's are individually wrapped for sanitary precautions. Since Covid erupted on the scene, both Polish and Sunflower Spa take cleanliness even more seriously and have implemented safety protocols so that you will feel safe in their facility. When you arrive for your appointment, you call them on the phone and they escort you into the facility. They no longer have a waiting area where large groups of people hang out. Everyone is wearing masks and they ask you to wash your hands when you arrive to ensure everyones safety; theirs and yours. There are never more than 2-3 people at a time receiving treatments. Its very low key, friendly and relaxing. The women that work there take a lot of time and pride in there work. They chat you up and remember your faces and your names and take notes on what you like and don't like. When you go there you laugh and unwind. When you leave you truly feel like a new person. All of the technicians are great! We never request anyone specifically because with all the experiences we have had at Polish, there has never been a bad one. We trust whomever they book us with for our pedi's! I highly, highly recommend! read more

Booked myself on short notice for one of their packages and had a great day. Their manicure and pedicure was wonderful. That was worth it all by itself. Loved every minute of it and the staff was great. Facial was nice and it included a foot massage; can't complain. I only got a 30 minute massage and it was good. I can't say it was the best massage that I ever received, but it was a massage and it was relaxing. They serve wine and water and have a small sitting area. Other spas have saunas and spas in the locker room, this spa only had showers so there really wasn't anything else to do before or after your booked services. I took my boyfriend here and what a terrible experience. It started rough because we were late by accident going to the wrong spa that we originally had booked massages for and they cancelled our appointment so I called this place and they had availability for a couples massage. We got in and got changed. Two woman came out and got us. We were not done liking our the massage questionnaire yet. They took us into the room. They didn't ask what type of massage and obviously didn't look at the form because it was still in my hand. The girl I had didn't even pull back the sheet on my bed and acted very much like she was in a hurry. The girl my boyfriend had seemed a little more personable but it was so odd how it felt so separate and not jointly. After all, we were there as couples and we were looking for a way better experience that what was had. The massage felt like she was only grazing my skin. I wanted a deep tissue. I run and was very tense and sore. It was the worst I have ever had. My boyfriend said his was meh and he didn't enjoy how it seemed so disjointed. I have always chosen to go to Sunflower Spa for all the obvious special occasions, gifts for teachers and friends, and when I needed a mommy "getaway." Recently, I discovered that on top of all the normal treatments I would treat myself to in the past - massage, body-treatments, facials - there was a whole side of the business I had never really utilized. Julie, at the front desk took the time to introduce me to Polish, their new and spacious nail salon, but also let me know more about some of the "medi-spa" treatments that were being offered. Sadly, before this - I had been going to Denver for Botox, another place in Longmont to get my mani/pedi's, and was only using Sunflower for massages mainly. Upon further discussion, I was informed about their VIP program, which makes a lot of sense. For a set amount each month, my account pays into my "bank" at the Spa. The amazing part is that money can be spent on ANY SERVICE of my choice. On top of that, now that I've become a VIP member and have consolidated all my "treats" into one place, I also receive a percentage discount on the treatments I'm booking. At this point in my life....time, efficiency with schedule, and great service are what I care about most. EVERYONE I have worked with at Sunflower for years has always been professional, friendly, and great at their niche. LauraLeigh gives the BEST MASSAGES, Stephanie has just put me on a treatment plan on the "med-spa" side that I'm already seeing results from, and all the nail techs I've been lucky enough to sit with for my mani's are personable. The last thing I'll say about my experience with this spa is in regards to products. Sunflower clearly does their research and to me offers options that deliver results. For skin, I love that they have both natural and more medical grade choices, their regular-ole nail polish I have put on at Polish always lasts two-weeks - it's quality and better for my nails. Their prices are very reasonable and often less than what I see others charging for a much nicer and professional spa-like experience. So glad to be able to go back to this wonderful place in Longmont. I would highly recommend speaking with their team, telling them about what you are trying to accomplish - escape, get rid of your wrinkles, massage out specific areas, get your nails done....you get me. I've been to Sunflower twice now and been disappointed each time. The atmosphere is nice but neither the body wrap or massage I've had we're worth the money. For the wrap, I spent the majority of the time in the room alone. No scalp massage, no shoulder rub, none of the little extras that really make you feel like you're being pampered. During my second trip, I had a massage and it was the worst I've ever had. Despite warning them twice that I have back issues that make it difficult for me to lay on my stomach for too long without a bolster, they had me on my stomach for most the massage. When requesting a bolster, I was handed a towel. When I asked if they'd just spend more time on my shoulders and scalp, rather than my back, I was ignored. I'm disappointed in this place. The have the ambiance to rooms to make this an amazing spa, but the focus on delivering quality services that really make you feel pampered is just missing. For me this is really the only place to go in the surrounding area. I have worked in the Spa industry for many years and here is what I love about Sunflower: the front desk staff is SO sweet and welcoming and efficient. They make everything roll along smoothly and well. The individual technicians all excel at their particular crafts. I LOVE the couples massage room and service. I have treated myself and partner to this several times and it is just an incredible, relaxing, sweet treat! Each massage therapist is tuned in to their specific client and conscientious to the whole over all experience. Vanessa is a genius with deep tissue and MANY other forms of massage. Larissa does glorious Thai Yoga Massage that leaves me humming for days. Samantha has a wonderful touch and leaves you feeling fantastic and over all pampered. Irma does occasional cameos and is deeply intuitive and skilled. I also love to have facials done here. I am 50 and need the skin nutrition. I am told I look way younger every single day by random people, I credit this to their expertise and care. Here is another thing that makes me love this place. I am deaf and since the first visit 5 years ago every single employee has done whatever they needed to to communicate kindly and clearly to me. This is no small feat. Lastly, I adore the fact the robes are roomy and pure cotton. The service ware for water and mimosa and wine are glass, the towels are thick and fluffy and the lighting is soft and nurturing. If I could give them zero stars I would. My students saved up and gave me a gift certificate for this place. Unfortunately, it's located WAY far away from where I live and where I work so it was really inconvenient to get to. I had to get off work early if I wanted to go or drive really far on my days off to get there from home. I took off early to give them a try but it was the worst massage I've ever had. Later, I talked to the people there and they said I could get a refund if it wasn't working out. I debated for a long time about what to do. There was still over $100 on the gift certificate. Finally, I took off work early (again) to go in for a refund but they told me they wouldn't give it to me! Poor business practice -- especially for a place that espouses "peace". I never can understand owners who won't give refunds. They'll almost always lose more than they gain by bad word of mouth. I regret that my students' money will go to waste -- but I won't go back to this place. read more
