Initially I came into Inspire to get a crooked haircut fixed, which was executed beautifully by Momo. Then I felt good enough I was considering putting vivid colors in my hair to feel more like me. Usually I enjoy coloring my own hair but the lightening process is such a pain, so I made another appointment with Momo to take care of lightening part. My hair is a very dark brown so I really didn't expect my hair to lighten past a light orange. I ended up with nearly white hair that ALSO felt incredibly healthy still. Honestly idk what to think. The conversation was nice and very friendly. I showed a couple photos of lots of layering to my stylist and I thought he understood. I also mentioned that I wanted to turn my bangs into curtain bangs that hit just right below my eyebrow level. It had gone brassy, and I want to feel bright and have cooler tones for summer. Icy blonde. Somehow my blonde went darker and ashy. They fit me in two hours later! I didn't feel that my haircut was rushed and I was consulted on the cut throughout. No surprises there, which led to a very satisfying haircut. I got a wash and style along with the cut. The style wasn't just a quick blow dry - my hair was curled and styled, it looked great! My hair is finally the icy blonde I've always wanted and it feels healthier than ever! I just need to say, I'm 33 and have never found a haircut where I felt comfortable leaving my hair down. It's thick, and heavy, and makes me overheat, and even with layers that I've received at other salons, I always end up throwing my hair in a bun or pony tail. I came in a few weekends ago and had an appointment with Kimberly, and told her that I needed layers, and wanted it short but that my requirement was that it needed to still be long enough to throw into a high pony tail (my default hairstyle). She did an amazing job, and you know what!? Since then I haven't felt the need AT ALL to put my hair into a pony tail or bun!! I'm finally one of those people who can just leave their hair down all. day. and it feels amazing! I'm so happy with my hair cut, and I was actually low key shocked at how reasonable the price was compared to other salons that I've been bouncing around in town. I'm definitely staying with this location and going to request her for future touchups and trims. Oh! I wanted to love inspire! But after 3 visits I won't be back. My first experience was amazing! Super helpful receptionist got me set up with a super stylist. Loved my cut and style and appreciated the reasonable charge of about $35. My second visit was miserable. My initial stylist was unavailable but I was scheduled with another and had high hopes. Unfortunately the skill level of the stylist was sub-par and she wasn't familiar with the techniques I requested. Rather than seek assistance she 'did her best' but I knew I wouldn't return. Again the charge was the same as my previous visit. The last time I went back I was able to get in with my original stylist and again he was amazing, solid technique, and great communication. Then he charged me individually rather than my paying the receptionist and the charge was nearly double what I'd paid for the first two visits... ouch! The space is clean and modern with an industrial feel. I've never been there when the salon is really humming preferring to go during a long lunch hour. But I appreciate that it's not terribly crowded. I think my last visit truly was my last ever visit. If you choose to try this salon I encourage you to request a seasoned stylist that specifically has training on the techniques you're seeking, double check the prices, and make sure to communicate you're expectations. read more

Carli and all of her staff are amazing! For starters, the salon is beautiful and has a nice relaxing vibe while you're getting primped. It's nice and laid back. On top of that, the work by all of the stylists is incredible. Carli has done my hair for the past two years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. She is incredibly talented and definitely my fav, but I know you'd be in good hands with any of her stylists. If she trusts them, I trust them! If you haven't been to this salon yet it's a must! It would be an understatement to say Taliha is the best. More accurately, she has forever changed my belief in the 3-week rule: Haircuts look their best 3-weeks later. That rule has been broken by Taliha...twice! Both times I visited Inspire Salon, I was greeted by Zach the Lumberjack, who is kind, friendly, and stylish. He sports a beard that shames all excuses I call attempts at growing facial hair. Within minutes of sitting down to "wait," Taliha is ready for me. Most places don't offer what Taliha brings to the haircut: 1) she actually listened to me fumble through my expectations of the haircut. 2) she asked how I normally wear it (because let's be honest, no one gets a haircut when it looks it's best) 3) Taliha then did something I love - shampoo and conditioned my male patterned baldness with elixirs that smell like they're shipped in from the Mediterranean that morning 4) she cut my hair, like a boss (more on that later) 5) she took me back to the hair wash station to rinse our all the little hairs she just cut 6) then a little styling and voila! 7) I looked so good, I told my wife my hair has a new crush, and her name is Taliha. She made my hair something it's never been: Good looking on day ONE! My best haircut ever...and she did it again! I've been looking for a great place to get my hair cut in Albuquerque my whole life. I have had plenty of haircuts where I come out looking worse than when I went in. I also find it difficult to tell the hairdresser how much I want cut off and for them to cut off only that much. This was not the case here. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly man with a really great and styled beard. If I could grow a beard I would want mine to look like his. I met my hairdresser, Meagan, shortly after arriving and expressed my concerns. She was honest with the amount she had to take off for my hair to look healthy and even. I like this sort of honesty, because I know what I can expect and she did EXACTLY what she said she would do. She also told me she cuts a really great mullet, so if you're in need of one of those she is your lady. Long story short, I love my new do and will continue to return to this salon for the beards, the awesome cuts, and the pretty reasonable prices. I may even get a mullet one day. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience. First of all the receptionist was not very friendly, nobody offered me a drink (even though it was a hot summer day) or showed me to the seating area. I had to ask if I could get myself some water. Then my haircut was awful, it was a simple bob but I have chunks of hair hanging out the back. I felt like the stylist was very nice and friendly, but did not take the time to make sure my cut was even and clean. I called to get my hair fixed, and was told the same stylist has to do it. So instead of taking the risk I now have an appointment at another salon where I will have to pay for another haircut! She is an expert with colors and knows how to inspire your do. I've had plenty of people do a terrible job with my super curly hair..it's not easy..so I'm pretty particular about who I have work it. She straightens it and then cuts it, which makes all the difference in the world. Plus, I get to wear it straight for awhile, which is always fun. She'll cut, style, and rock your do like no other. I loved my experience at Inspire Uptown. I called in on a Friday (was put on hold for a few minutes since they were pretty busy) and was scheduled for the next day for a cut/highlight with Kim - love that they were so flexible over a weekend and squeezed me in! I'll admit, I was nervous to try a new stylist after moving to Albuquerque but Kim was amazing. She listened to what I wanted, what I didn't want, learned my maintenance routine (I never like to spend more than 5 minutes on my hair in the morning) and she was great to talk to. I felt like I was in good hands and she did a superb job. My highlights turned out exactly how I wanted and they blend very well with my natural dirty blonde color. The cut was also great, a simple evening out and texturizing but really well done. After she was done she even curled it for me (I have naturally straight, fine hair so I love it when a stylist curls it). Seriously, look no further. Kim is amazing but I think any of the stylists here are a good bet. Everyone in this salon was happy and upbeat and every customer left looking great. read more

The facility is beautiful. My stylist Daniel was super helpful and amazing! I walked out of my service feeling confident and refreshed. By the way, he gives an amazing head massage when conditioning. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the receptionist wasn't willing to acknowledge me because she was too busy taking notes. After checking me in she told me to get my own coffee or water, if I choose to have any, from the front where it is displayed. Not the best in customer service in my opinion but Daniel did such an amazing job that I was trying to overlook the start to my appointment. read more

I was in Colorado this past weekend and got a blow out and everyone at the salon wanted my cool/beige blonde and even customers that walked in requested it! Aaron was my hairstylist and he really understood my hair (if that's a phrase)! He actually made it look better than I had imagined. Was working in Albuquerque and needed a fresh blow out because I wasn't headed home for a few days. I called and immediately got an appointment. They were super friendly and accommodating over the phone so I finished lunch and headed over. I forgot the time (duh) and was a little late, but they were super forgiving. Mack did my hair. He's absolutely stunning. His hair is perfect, his whole VIBE is perfect. He listened to everything I wanted and really proceeded to try SO hard to give me what I asked for, but my hair is killer. It's just really tough to blowout. It can be done, but I think you really have to be super experienced in doing blowouts. So, my hair ended up too full of body, not smooth at all. He did the curls like I asked, but because the roots weren't completely smooth the rest of the hair sort of billowed. It was not my favorite blowout ever. It's too bad too, because the salon is beautiful, the people are amazing and the prices are perfect. I just wish it weren't so difficult to get my hair the way I want it. Ugh. read more

I have gone before and after the remodel of the salon and I must say that before was good, but after is amazing! Its fresh and open but still feels private. Everything is comfortable and the staff is amazing. I have my favorite stylist there, Mack, and he is wonderful! Very well dressed and styled himself and always investigates to get a full picture of what i want that day. He always makes sure you are comfortable and knows how to style my hair perfectly.
