I've been consistently attending classes 2x weekly for the past 10+ months. I love that every single class is a challenge + a different workout with upbeat music. You + your body never get bored. I drive 20+ minutes to attend a 6:10am class when I can't even drive 5 min to my local chain gym, so that definitely showed me how much I enjoy the classes + the coaches. I've never had a mediocre or bad coach. They have all been so helpful + motivating. They correct my posture + remind us where we should be feeling the shake + burn so you get the maximum workout. With each class, I try to perfect the specific move from what I learned from previous classes to get the max benefit. I've been attending throughout my pregnancy up to 30 weeks. I feel safe + they always offer to demo a safer exercise to work out the same muscles as the rest of the class. Wish there was one closer to my home! read more

I run 26.2 miles... In a ROW. I do the yoga. I do the TRX. I do the Olympic walking. Not really. This class SLAYS me. Every. Single. Time. It is all about getting Jane Fonda tone and tight and firm in ALL the right places. Your man will dig it. He'll prob pay for it when he sees how tight your booty is from all those single back kick things. Dudes can take class too! You get the mad shakes from muscle fatigue during class. Zero impact. 100% muscles on FIRE. Total muscle failure. Work on your symmetry, your balance, your good looks. Remember when you're uncomfortable and the instructor is telling you to push harder/go lower/slow down... you look at her and say F U, then you do it anyway because you want that apple bottom. 40 minutes flies by. You don't have to be super coordinated, you'll get the hang of it quickly. You can be beginner level fitness or Allyson Felix, US sprinter. It's ground zero for all when you step on that platform. You will find muscles you didn't know you have. Oh hey... Enjoy climbing stairs or sitting down for the next two days. Ok? I've taken class during my lunch and can go back to work without smelling like an old gym locker. They have wet naps and a kick ass body spray in the bathroom. What more can I say? Give it a go. I can't say enough good things about this workout. It is unlike anything I have tried before, and each class leaves you feeling stronger and inspired! There are multiple kinds of low impact classes including instamega (the traditional class on the megaformer), instabounce (a cardio based class on a mini trampoline), and instastretch which uses the megaformer machine to do deep stretching. Staff are all friendly and professional. I have also felt safe working out in this studio during COVID times due to their small class sizes, air purifier, and thorough cleaning practices before and after each class. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun class that will change the way you look and feel! read more

I was nervous to try it out back in December, but from that very first class, Insta has been an important part of my life. For the first time ever, I consistently look forward to attending class. I've only been to this place twice, but I'm really enjoying the classes. As everyone else has said, it was an instant burn and my legs were shaking after five minutes. I love weight lifting and boxing, but this is like something on a different level. My favorite thing about it is that the classes only last 40 minutes. I still have a long way to go in terms of being able to successfully do every movement that is thrown at me, but I'm confident that I'll get there after a few more sessions! I heard about InstaPhysique from a couple friends that I worked out with. It had just opened and I took a class with Erica. For years I have been doing bootcamps and spin classes. I was searching for some thing new and it was perfect timing. As I've gotten older, I felt bootcamp was starting to do more harm then good. I was sore but it wasn't a good workout sore but an injured sore. I had never taken a Pilates, barre or yoga class as I always thought I wasn't flexible and wouldn't be able to do the movements. Then I took my first class with Erica. She reviewed the Megaformer with all of us and showed us each movement as the class progressed. I couldn't believe how much fun it was, how hard it was and how sore I was after the class. But this was a GREAT sore, the sore you should feel after an incredible, effective workout. Three months later and several classes a week, I still get the shake. It never gets easier, you get stronger. It's a great feeling to slow down and get an awesome strength, toning and lengthening workout all in one 40 minute session. There is no place or other workout like this in Sacramento. All of the trainers are so motivating and patient. They also offer specials for new students. Give it a try and you'll be hooked. This is a very fun and efficient workout! I attended a class with Daniel, a top trainer there and he was very kind and nice to me since it was my first class. I went in on a Saturday morning, he got me setup on a machine and helped me purchase the correct socks. My only wish was that I would have attended a beginner class, as this was a little tough for me. However, everyone is very welcoming and it's a non judgmental atmosphere. read more

I started taking classes at Instaphysique in January. I had thought about taking classes here for a long time but finally decided to buy a membership right after the "27 Classes in 50 Days" Challenge started. If you're looking for a challenge, this is it. This is a full body workout that will kick your butt. No two workouts are the same even with the same instructor. There are a lot of different exercises and variations so you're always working different muscles and/or working them in different ways. Something that is consistent across classes is the focus on the core. I appreciate that the instructors encourage us to push through the shaking and burning, often by letting us know how much time we have left or that we're wrapping up exercises for a particular muscle group. It's easy to be intimated walking into a new studio and taking a new class especially when so many of the other students are regulars. But, all of the instructors are very friendly and helpful, and willing to correct your form/explain how to do an exercise. I can tell that I'm stronger and more flexible that I was when I started taking classes 6 weeks ago. The classes never really get easier but you learn how to work/breathe through them, improve your form, etc. It took me about 6-8 classes to really feel comfortable on the Megaformer. Also, have to give a shout out to Erica and the Megastretch classes. That class is seriously life changing. It's a great compliment to the Megaformer classes and also to cardio/whatever other workouts you're doing. Doing various stretches on the machine allows you to get the deepest stretch possible--some of which you can't do without the machine. Anyway, I really can't say enough good things about this studio and I'm really happy that I finally decided to get a membership here! read more

I don't even know where to start. Instaphysique has been life changing!! This workout has it all- it's like cardio/resistance training/yoga all in one. In just 40 minutes! The muscle fatigue/burn/shake is NO JOKE. Aside from feeling stronger and building long lean muscles the stability and strength I'm feeling in my core is amazing! My lower back pain that I've dealt with for 10 years is gone. The mental strength I've gained at Instaphysique has been just as incredible. This workout pushes you in every way. Aside from the KILLER workout the instructors take the time to get to know you. Megan and Daniel both have taken time to correct my form, walk me through new moves and motivate me before, during and after class. I am obsessed with this class! The first time I'm came I was a little intimidated by the machines used and didn't know what to expect. However, Lauren (I think was the instructors name) was an amazing instructor and made the movements very easy to follow even for a first timer! I love this class for many reasons - it's only 40 minutes, it's effective, and the instructors are all wonderful. I especially love Anna who is so knowledgeable about the parts of the body we are working! In order to see results, however, you have to go consistently and it's pretty expensive compared to other specialized gym studios. Great for all stages of life (I'm currently still working out there at 8 months pregnant!). My only other tip for them is to turn the music down - sometimes it can be really distracting when the coach is talking us through the moves the entire time. Where do I even start?! Instaphysique is literally changing my life, one class at a time. I recently gave birth to my second child via c-section. I was able to start classes 8 weeks after surgery, in a matter of a couple months I have managed to slim down by 12lbs so far and I cannot believe how much stronger I feel. The insta team is such an incredible group of women, they know their stuff. Not only will they modify workouts for newbies, but will also intensify if you want that extra push.
