Integral Landscapes created an incredible front and backyard for us that balanced beauty and eco friendly practices (with thoughtful choices for drought resistant plants, pollinator plants, and drip irrigation for efficient watering). Working with them was a dream - extremely responsive, great ideas, collaborative with design and suggestions, and really kind to our kiddos who were curious throughout the process. We worked with Kellie and the Integral Landscapes team to landscape our front and back yards. Both were primarily lawns that we'd let go during the drought. The irrigation system in the back had been destroyed by our puppy, and the front was a huge weed patch. Kellie and her colleagues took a lot of time to get to know us and our needs/hopes, which were: low maintenance; drought resistant/tolerant but not succulents; and dog friendly/durable. We shared photos of landscapes, trees, plants, and color palettes that we liked, and then Kellie worked her magic! She and her crew worked steadily, cleanly, and thoughtfully, and they communicated regularly throughout the process. Once everything was in, we opted to continue working with Kellie for monthly maintenance and really value the care and support that the team provides. Because of Integral Landscapes' good work, the team tends to be busy, and while we began our work with them in the summer/fall of 2018, they weren't able to begin working on our landscaping until early in 2019. But, once on site, we were a clear focus for them, and the work-- even with some rainy days-- was done quickly and well. In other words, it was absolutely worth the wait! We also had to navigate our budget a bit, and the team was thoughtful and supportive on that front. We opted to stretch our budget and the team was able scale back on a few things without compromising on the overall plan and vision. It was worth every penny. Kellie's professionalism, expertise, discerning eye and genuine care, the meticulousness and excellent planning of the whole team, Kellie's affection for our rambunctious dogs, and the team's clear and open communication has made Integral Landscapes an absolute pleasure to work with. I have used this lawn company for about six months now. I used to get the lawn cut weekly put changed to every other week. When I moved to every other week they stopped cutting the grass as low. I assume it was to force me back to weekly again. I noticed the first couple times and wasn't sure. However, my neighbors happened to get their grass cut on the same day last week so the problem was glaring. When I called them about it they never returned my call. Such practices lack integrity. I have of course changed lawn companies but I definitely do not recommend using a company that would utilize such practices. read more

From the start Kellie saw our vision and brought our landscaping dreams to a reality. She kept us involved every step of the way and was completely organized and professional. Kellie and her team landscaped my front yard and it looks amazing! She understood exactly what I wanted (even though my descriptions were a bit vague and mostly made references to The Cotswolds) and she chose plants that are hardy and beautiful. She took the picture from my head and made it a reality. The process is a long a one, but it is 100% worth it! I first contacted Kellie in March or April and installation occurred in August. I never felt forgotten and had contact with Kellie or Heather in the time leading up to the project, during install, and even in the time after. I was given a detailed sketch of the garden layout and also provided with a slideshow of all the plants that would be in my yard. I knew exactly what to expect throughout the entire project and all of my questions were answered thoughtfully and promptly. They are a busy team and worth the wait. I really can't say enough nice things about them! They are not only professional and do a lovely job, but they are just the nicest people. I would not hesitate to hire Kellie and her team again for any landscaping project. They are fantastic! (I started this review last summer when the project was first completed and completely forgot to hit "post review." *sigh* On the plus side, I can add an update! Over the last year my yard has filled in and looks gorgeous. Neighbors regularly stop me to comment on how great it looks and it gives me a chance to recommend Kellie and her team. Kellie and Heather also checked in during the last year and sent programming recommendations for my sprinkler system. It was such a nice surprise and just a great example of their amazing customer service. I hired Kellie to advise on drainage and to install an irrigation system in my yard in Berkeley about a year ago. (Can't believe it's taken me this long to write her a review!) She was wonderful to work with. She communicated by email and phone in a prompt, professional manner that is hard to find among contractors. She gave me straightforward advice about the best water and planting options for my yard, planted several fruit trees appropriate for Berkeley's climate, and then designed and installed a drip irrigation system that worked with my budget. The system has been working great, no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend Kellie Owen- for my money she is one of the best contractors doing irrigation and landscaping work in Northern California. read more

We just moved into a new place with a big backyard. Exciting, but a bit overwhelming. I asked Kellie to come over to help me with plant ID and to make heads or tails of the irrigation system. She did both -- beautifully. She reset the irrigation timer and we inspected every inch, plugging up areas that were just a wasting of water. While I'm not ready to do any significant landscaping now, we set a plan to remove stumps in the winter, and plan the next steps little by little. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Kellie worked closely with us on our landscape design and irrigation system to fit within our requirements (budget-friendly, deer-resistant, low water) while keeping an eye on the big picture and making strategic recommendations. She helped us to keep as many of the plants that were already in place as we could, and quickly responded to texts we would send her while out on walks, browsing neighborhood gardens for ideas. Her up-front planning was impeccable, and on the day of installation, she and her crew worked tirelessly to get everything done within what was a very tight deadline. If all that weren't enough, the thing that I think really sets Kellie apart is her follow-up after install. She proactively checked on the irrigation system without needing to be asked and has helped us to tweak the (very few) plants that needed changing. She has responded to all of our post-install questions rapidly and without making us feel like we are bothering her - she seems to really care that we have a healthy and beautiful garden. Her love of plants and greenscape is infectious and she is a true joy to work with. I'm excited to work with her into the future on the ongoing maintenance.
