I've been seeing Dr. Seth on and off for years. He is my saving grace when it comes to pain. I wouldn't know what to do without him. After going through 5 pain doctors, mostly legalized drug pushers with a huge waiting area just filled people who were only there to get narcotics. Dr Seth actually tried to figure out the root cause. I'm one of those who detest a Dr. Wanting to put you on narcotics right off the bay without reviewing MRI's and what have you. My mom has been seen at this office for over 12 years, she doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs, she doesn't even drive, she can barely walk on most of the days. She had a urine test which is normal on her visit in December everything was fine until her next appointment for a refill appt. in January when they saw her and told her they had found COCAINE in her urine test. They never called her to let her know, hey we saw something in the results, I mean she has been seen with them for so long she deserves at least a call to maybe do another test? I would think right? There was 3 other urine samples that day she did hers inside the bathroom, but no one thought it could had been an error? The Doctor told her the she couldn't see her anymore and couldn't give her anymore refills for her pain meds. We obviously could not just sit there and do nothing about it my mother needs her medication she cannot be without it, her primary doctor had told us that by now there's no way she could be without it because of her pain and how long she has been using it she needs them. We argue that they should had called us when they got the results so they could had tested her again because it had to be a mistake, this lady doesn't even smoke I mean cocaine? We told them that she doesn't even drive, they said " well maybe with some friends" really? my mother has no one but us her kids and husband thats it. So I called the lab to see if they could do a blood test they said they couldn't but we could take her to a private lab and they would be able to because cocaine stays in your system for a few months, so we did. It came back NEGATIVE, as we knew it would. My mom had an appointment in Feb. 22. Today at 9:45am they called me at 9:36am to tell me they could not give her a refill because they had previously told her they wouldn't. I had spoken with 2 different girls on the phone prior to this appointment one this week and one on Friday. Which I explain to them about the results and I emailed it to them, which they told me that then it was ok. I asked the second lady so then everything is ok? she said yes. So when I got the call 9 minutes before her appointment the girl who refused to give me her name and hung up on me said "she told you no, that we were not giving her a refill" I said no, She never said that, she said that it was ok" she said no she didn't I was right next to her" Why would I lie? Why would I not had argue about it with her that day? why would I had told her to go to her appointment my sister lives in Maricopa its about 45minutes of a drive, I would had never made her drive or yet not argue with the last person if she had said no we can't give her a refill. I would had tried to get an answer before going to her appointment, or better yet made an appt. with her primary doctor instead of wasting time with someone thats so unprofessional that cannot figure out what they are doing. Her lab test came back NEGATIVE. The last lady I spoke with who refused to give me her name then said well we are not seeing her and I am hanging up on you. How is this an office that is supposed to help patients to get out of pain? I'm giving 5 stars only because of Dr. Cosijns she is absolutely amazing! I would not see anyone else in this office. She is very compassionate and listens to your needs . She is on top of things and cares greatly about her patients. I have been seeing her and her now retired husband for over 20 plus years and would highly recommend her to anyone... she listens is very informative. Brought my mother in law on a Tuesday morning. Here is what to expect (and I'm writing this prior to her even being called back to be seen) 1- standing room only. They have an enormous space for additional seating and conference rooms with chairs, yet they have their patients who are in pain required to stand 2- minimum 1.5 hours behind. I assumed it was a fluke but the woman at the front desk said this is the standard expectation at this location. 3- bring your own soap if you want to use the restroom. They have none. Not like an empty dispenser needing to be filled...they actually have zero to offer. 4- I watched the gentlemen who claimed to be one of the owners to someone he was speaking to up front (little tan guy with blonde spiked hair in jeans and a blue sweater) take his phone and record the entire waiting room. Not sure if he plans to use it as bragging for being over packed and understaffed but he definitely didn't bother to use it to go into his conference or break room to offer chairs to the patience STANDING in pain. Dr. Givens is a talented and skilled and kind physician. However, his support team is seriously lacking in communication skills, follow-up, and anything somewhat important to keep in the customer/patient in something closely resembling peace of mind considering that they are currently in a state of pain. He asked me to get an MRI four weeks ago and that he would call me with the results and schedule the next injection into my spinal area. I've called back each week for four weeks asking why I haven't heard anything, and nobody replies. I still don't know what the results of my MRI are. I'm still in pain. And no matter how many times I tell the story to anyone of his enormous support staff, absolutely nothing happened. So if you want to be completely ignored, or you want to slow-walk getting your treatment for weeks and weeks on end... By all means reward them with your business. However every time I go to their office, I passed at least half a dozen spinal pain centers. They're not the only game in town they're not even close to being the only game in town but they act as though they were and they completely disrespect you. read more

Hello, I have been a patient at IPC for 6 years mostly at the Scottsdale office. I just had a thoracic T7-T12 nerve block both sides at the MESA office. When I woke from the procedure the assistant just wheeled me out to my driver. There was no verbal or written release instructions given by an assistant or Doctor before or after my procedure. The procedure was ordered like 3 or 4 weeks before hand. The block procedure was listed on one of the group of release papers I was given during sign-in. An extra note, during my prep for the block procedure the assistant tried to get my BP with the auto cuff but the machine errored out 3 times. She inserted the IV and left. Never attempted another BP with another machine or manually! The two doctors in the Procedure Room the were standoffish. I am amazed and astonished with the lack of patient care at the Mesa facility. I tried to call the Mesa Office through the schedule telephone number. They transferred me three times. I have left messages and they do not return phone calls that shows that they not not care for their patients. If you have a complaint about their service or the level of care for the patients forget it, they just keep providing their pain relief to patients. Do Not Schedule at the Mesa office!!! It's very disheartening to see all the negative reviews for IPC. I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Cosijns as well as Dr. Seth (he does the procedures). I see that many people are upset about pain meds but the restrictions are across the board so the blame is not theirs. Dr. C examines me thoroughly at every appointment and then goes over my medication and answers any/all questions. Her appointments are scheduled longer than other physicians because of this and she is amazing. As far as Dr Seth goes he has always showed me kindness and compassion each time I have had a procedure on my spine. After a nerve block for my crps I had a strange reaction and sent a picture to the office...he (NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT) called me back right away to discuss. Don't get me wrong- it wasn't a horrible picture but he still took time to call me back at 6pm to discuss. It's so unfortunate that Dr. Givens gave them a bad reputation- most of the negative reviews are about him and unfortunately it becomes a reflection of everyone and this isn't fair. This is what I wrote to Dr. Givens. By the way, I saw 5 different providers in 7 months. And, on 3 occasions, my appointment was either not scheduled or scheduled for an office far away. I think everyone makes mistakes...I do. But, after a while, a practice reveals itself. By the way...Melissa Kuntz was a good provider, as stated below in another review. No wonder she immediately left. You know, Dr. Givens, it's a shame you've never been in my shoes. I will tell you a few things. 1. You are a doctor. I was a 3rd year med student who had to leave med school when my disease got too tough. 2. As a med student, I at least knew to do a physical exam. You didn't touch me one time the two times you saw me. Shame on you. That's lazy doctoring. 3. You are younger than me, and you were rude on the phone. You can dismiss me from the practice, but you could use bedside manner. 4. I was a master engineer prior to becoming a med student. A little math. I took 4.64 pills per day when I should have taken 4. I did the best I could, and I'm in no way ashamed. Don't you dare shame me. 5. You said I do not have cancer. What you don't know, because you didn't search my medical records, is I have clonal T reg cells. I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2017. Then, when the bone marrow biopsy came back negative, along with a negative PET, I was placed in watchful waiting. Heme onc said they could not rule out large cell leukemia. You have no idea if that's developed on me. 6. My CRP was 46 due to you have no clue what. You really don't. It could be rheumatalogical, or it could be....something more. When I was first diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in 2011, I had a CRP that was....normal. Yet, I had 80 ml of fluid drained from my left knee. Sed rate was high, but not wow either. You need to remember the one rule of medicine: bodies don't read textbooks. 7. I'm sure you are a nice guy. You could learn how to be merciful. Because, you have made a big mistake in discharging me. I've never sipped alcohol, never smoked, never done one drug. I came to you for help. You are the 5th provider at IPC that I've seen in 8 months. No provider continuity whatsoever. And....not one physical exam. I'm no drug seeker, I just have pain that has become uncontrolled. And, you did no due diligence to find out why. You just humbled me on the phone. What goes around always comes around. In this life or the next. I came to you guys in honesty. I could've saved 2 pills and passed the urine test. I'm not dumb. But, with my honesty, you throw me out the door. Show mercy, or was that lost somewhere in internship or fellowship? read more

Don't go to this doctors office! They flat out lied about the cost of the office visit, suppose to be $75 then they sent me another bill for $230 this was just for going in and talking for 15 minutes. I called to cancel an appointment because I was asked to go on a short notice trip for my job and nobody would answer the phone for over 2 hours, then I was charged for a no-show of $50 after I called them and explained what happened. If I could give zero stars I would. Let me start by saying I LOVE DR STONE!!! However, his office staff are the rudest most unprofessionals people I have ever encountered. When I signed in this morning, they asked for a copay which I did not owe because this is a NF case. she insisted I had to pay. So I got frustrated and tried to explain and she tells me my "attitude goes against my medication contract" I DON'T TAKE PAIN MEDICATIONS" gets the manager on the phone who says the same thing. I must pay copay. The MA also asked while she is taking my BP if I am there for med refills so again I get frustrated she says I have an attitude, takes the BP cuff off and leaves. The office manager calls me this afternoon and says i am being discharged from the practice. I wish Dr. Stone would go somewhere else.This is of course the abridged version. Not sure of the spelling but this includes Lillian the office manager, Elena at the front desk and the MA(not sure of her name) The NP had to show her how to print a referral. i am in the middle of treatment and had a moment of frustration and was trying to explain why I was beng seen that day, not for pain meds. i am very sad about this because it seems Dr. Stone was only given one side of the story. This clinic was excellent at first, then became extremely strict on their must be 15 min early rule. Ok that's fine, but they said they'd squeeze me in at a 12:00 appointment all the while calling me the wrong name. I arrived at my appointment, the Dr went to lunch and refused to see me after a 1 hour drive to the office. They "fired me" as a patient saying I was belligerent and disrespectful. This simply is not true, as they were calling me the wrong name often. They left me without pain medication for 15 days! Suffering in pain. They treat you like cattle, have WAY to many patients, and do not have their stuff together, kind of a trend I'm seeing in the pain management community. He asked me specific questions related to my surgery and need for extended pain management. He answered my questions fully and without judgment. Terrible experience, go elsewhere. The doctor here came into the room having already made a number of incorrect assumptions, his temper quickly escelated to the point where he was yelling and cussing at me while I remained perfectly calm and professional trying to explain why I was there. I asked for the name and number of the supervising physician at which point he exclaimed "I am the f**king physician" and stormed out of the room. My PCP referred me here for a stomach issue after I clearly explained multiple times that I am not in pain. When making the appointment I also made it clear I was not in pain. Again with the nurse at intake and on all my paperwork, I noted no pain. At no point did someone state that they thought this wasn't the right specialist to see. After waiting multiple weeks to be seen and needing care, I was met with a completely unprofessional doctor who just pointed his finger of blame at my PCP, refused to provide treatment, and had a terrible bed-side manner. Dr. Nikesh Seth there has been a lot of bad reviews with the same issue as mine I was treated bad at your business. I was treated with no compassion. I was not told my 73yr old mom that has high blood pressure and I would have to wait outside in the 114 degrees weather when I complained about it like any patient would do I was treated with no compassion no respect and I was just told I could not go back to your business when I already had 8 doctor's visits scheduled. That only caused me distress and more pain. I had never experienced this bad customer service in any other medical office. This is not ok and you have to do something about it. I contacted your OCC and she sounded like she did not care for me as the patient or my concern she sounded instead of making me feel better as the patient and making the situation better she made it worse by telling me if I could just go and I should just reschedule for another day when I drove 30 min to the office and I was ready for my procedure all I wanted is for her to listen that if you are going to have your patient and their driver wait outside in the Arizona summer heat you need to inform then prior just like you inform your patient not to eat anything after midnight so that we are aware and can make the appropriate arrangements because it is dangerous to be outside in the Arizona heat and that whole week we had intense heat warning of 114 degrees. This type of behavior is not acceptable and it has to change now. There should be no more bad reviews of how your staff mistreated your patients. There should be no more reviews of patients having an issue of having to wait outside in the heat because your staff over booked and the waiting lobby is full the patient should not suffer this consequences because your OCC didn't help your staff come up with a better plan so the patients can be comfortable and safe. I wouldn't recommend this place if it were the last pain doctor on earth. I walked in and was told about an epidural procedure that was going to be very expensive and that was the ONLY option that was discussed. I told them I didn't want it and walked out then recieved a bill in the mail for over $200. My entire appointment lasted less then 15min. They charge you over $100 for filling out the paperwork you're required to fill out as a new patient and mark it as a "drug consultation" They also schedule you for appointments themselves without your knowledge and then charge for no show fees when you don't show up for the appointments you never scheduled. They scheduled me for the procedure after I told them I didn't want it then they kept scheduling me for follow ups. This place is just out to get your money. They're not there to help anyone! Today my wife was supposed to have an appointment to get shots in her neck. As soon as we walked in the first thing you notice is some patients are wearing a mask, others are not. As my wife and I have already had Covid and beaten it with no medication to help, high school biology teaches you have immunity and we no longer wear masks. My problem is this, if your gonna mandate people wear a mask then ALL MUST wear a mask. How do you jump all over someone for not wearing one while others in the waiting room are not wearing one? My husband has been going to DR Givens for about two years. He started cutting back his pain medications significantly siting different reasons every time I went with my husband. My husbands pain became worst and worst. Then he decided other medications he was prescribe by other doctors needed to be decreased as well. If my husband didn't comply he cut back his pain meds more. Even when presented with documentation from the other doctors why the meds were prescribe and needed to be prescribed he wouldn't listen. He doesn't treat the patient, doesn't manage their pain and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. If I could give him less than 1 star I would. read more

We'd like to give Doctors Givens a review, but as we drove into the parking lot (14 minutes early) for my wife's first appointment with this doctor, she received a call from the office saying that they don't take her insurance. They had 3 to 4 days to get preauthorization and waited until the day of the appointment to call her insurance company????? How's that for patient care, this happened on a Friday so the wife will have to go through the weekend without any relief. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. We received the ARPWave Therapy provided by Therapist Jason and George who are certified on the ARPWave process. I had suffered with unbelievable pain for 5 years and moved to Mesa in 2017 for treatment. I have seen 10-15 specialist doctors, X-Ray's and MRI's from head to toe with no results. I tried Message Therapy, Ozone Prolotherapy, Myofascial Therapy, and they all helped but did not resolve the root cause. I have a complicated situation with my hips, butt and legs. This place is awful. I saw Dr. Givins & Carmen a PA. If I could give negative stars I would. I have NEVER felt so humiliated & completely hopeless. I've suffered from widespread chronic pain ever since I had spinal meningitis over a decade. I've been to more doctors than I can count, & finally, I saw a doctor who gave me an actual diagnosis. He diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. I was then referred to Dr. Givins by my mother. She's been a patient of Integrated Pain for years, as well as my father (he was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia) until he passed away last year. My mother went to Dr Givins in Mesa since she moved here from Scottsdale. She had rave reviews about Dr. Givins. However, I had a completely different experience. I was told that my diagnosis wasn't anything he could treat. That it's just a fancy word for someone who is over sensitive to pain. He said he could offer me a referral to physical therapy, and said I just need to be active. As I'm sitting there in tears & disbelief he basically shrugged his shoulders & got up to leave without saying anything. I asked if I should follow him, he said yes, & walked me out to the lobby. He told his reception person that I might want to schedule a follow up with Dr. Seth. When I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Seth. I was told he only does procedures now. I told her I needed to see someone who would treat Fibromyalgia. I was then given an appointment to see a PA named Carmen for the following morning. I was treated horribly by the woman who took me back & took my blood pressure. In a very irritated & condescending tone she asked why I was there when I had just seen Dr Givins the day before. I told her for my Fibromyalgia. She, again sounding completely annoyed, asked me to take my arm out of my sweater & took my blood pressure and then left saying the Dr would be in soon. The PA Carmen asked why I was there. I gave her the same answer. She said there wasn't anything she could do. I asked her, "So I just have to live like this for the rest of my life?" & she said YES. Then told me about a treatment that was cash pay. I now have to suffer with this for the rest of my life. I really hope the rest of my is over soon because I've lived with as much pain as I can already read more

This review is a reflection of the office staff at the Mesa location, not the doctor. My husband has been in chronic pain due to a bulging disk in his spine. Because of a coding error by the office, the cortisone shot was denied by our health insurance. When made aware of the error, the office promised to call my husband back with a resolution last Friday. No call. When my husband called the office today to follow up, Patrick was extremely rude and condescending, not even acknowledging that it was their error to begin with. Now treatment is further delayed because the office has not resubmitted the order with the correct coding - and Patrick blames the patient! Perhaps Patrick should find a different line of work if he cannot show compassion to people in pain. read more

This place is horrid. I saw Dr. Zaveri and Patricia. They were horribly unorganized. They can't write proper office visit notes. They were treating me for cervical spine issues while I kept telling them I suffered from postherpetic neuralgia pain from having the shingles in my face and head. They began steroid injections. After the first injection I explained the pain was worse. Then they let me get a second injection and the phn spread to almost my entire body. It's sever pain like cutting, burning and stabbing. I let them know all of these things. And because I explained my pain, Dr. Zaveri discharged me as a patient. They don't have time for anything. No time to be doctors or health care professionals. And certainly no time to help people. They use the excuse they are,"short staffed" and they are rude. I mean every single person that works there comes across as beyond unhappy. Very caring, professional, clean clinic. They worked hard to help me with my pain. Very friendly staff.

I went to Integrated Pain Consultants in good faith with good insurance. I came in for my regular appointment and was met by lies from Sandra and Dr. Nikesh Seth about why they had to put patients on dangerous accelerated tapering of opioids, that their doctors had prescribed for me since 2015. Instead of following DHHS guidelines of 10 percent reduction per month they reduced my opioid intake 2/3 rds in two weeks (66% in one/half month). They told me I had to have high speed tapering due to a new DEA law going into effect on 1/1/2019. I called the DEA and they said they were unaware of any law like this. I did nothing incorrect and complained so they cancelled me as a patient in retaliation. I have complained to the AZ Medical Board, DEA and DHHS. Due to this uncaring patient attitude and intentional lack of professional ethics, I warn others. read more

We had transferred to Integrated Pain Consultants from a clinic that had closed. The transition went exceptionally well. We saw Dr. Givens, who was exceptionally competent and professional. His nurse, Nicole, was very personable and helpful. Dr. Givens has an excellent bedside manner. Although we've had only one visit, we are very pleased with our choice to see Dr. Givens. They will be moving office locations soon, so be aware of address changes. They will only go from the Baseline and Higley area to the Banner complex at Higley and the 202. read more
