AVOID this "medical" clinic and save your health!!! All this clinic cares about is your MONEY, they don't care about you and your health issues! I've had issues with my ears a year ago and although I've addressed my concerns multiple times prior to treatment, they messed up my ears very bad. They promised me that they were going to do one thing and take precautions for the safe treatment. Instead they didn't care to do anything that they said they were going to. As a result I got the barotrauma and that caused the symptoms that I have had a year ago to came back. They recommended me to continue the treatment still, even though it wasn't the right thing to do. My doctor told me to stop the hyperbaric treatment because my ears are messed up now. I wish I would have gone to another clinic where professionals would take care of me! Avoid this "medical" practice! UPDATE: After the owner replied to my negative review down below that I wasn't their patient to justify himself and make me look like a liar, so the potential customers would ignore my review, I attach my receipt here. If this review were just for Dr. Ginnan I would give five stars. He is a knowledgeable & caring doctor who helped me with my health issues when no one else could figure out why I wasn't feeling well. He is fantastic and I highly recommend him. Unfortunately, the office & administrative staff are unprofessional & incompetent to the point that I won't be returning despite really liking the doctor. There were huge billing mistakes, resulting in unexpectedly owing hundreds of dollars 6 months after receiving services. Several times I never got a call or email back on information I requested over and over again until I finally just gave up. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I showed up for a bloodwork appointment that was scheduled almost a month in advance to be told (after waiting 30 minutes past my apt time to be seen) they didn't have the test in stock and therefor could not give me the test that morning. Despite this, they fraudulently charged my insurance for an office visit. Very disappointing because I would love to continue to see Dr. Ginnan for my medical needs but I can't put up with the poor service & shadiness from the staff any longer. read more

I will no longer be going to this practice because of what appears to be incompetence with the billing or administrative staff. In December 2017 I was charged a $500 deductible fee by them for lab work I was having done. Fast forward 5 months and I noticed another deductible for a different medical practice was charged to me (I'm on a plan that resets December 1 so the first $500 deductible Virginia Integrative Health charged me should have covered me for the year). Thank goodness I realized something wasn't right and contacted my insurance provider and got an incredible representative who got Virginia Integrative Health on the phone and grilled them about why they had not refunded me the money when they should have reconciled all their billing well before that date. They said they would be sending me a refund for what I was owed on May 3. At the beginning of June, still no check from them so I called on June 1 and was told they were sending the check out that day (how convenient). I called back today, 6/20, and was told they had a problem with the bank and the money order they were sending me and that caused a delay and they should be sending it out to me by 6/27, hopefully sooner. I am appalled that it took me looking into my deductibles and contacting them to get a refund for money that they should have refunded on their own fairly quickly as standard practice. I am beyond frustrated that I now have to continue to hound them to get this money that I am owed. I do not trust them at all and would not recommend them for anythi 7/17/18 - Any "professional" that communicates with you via Yelp comments rather than a phone call or email should seriously be questioned. My phone is literally never off and I have been receiving voicemails with no problem, yet the message below from Calista is the only thing I've heard from them. I'm sincerely hopeful that this information helps someone to avoid this drama. 7/13/18 Update: Hoping this will help someone else to avoid the headache I have been dealing with. I received 2 checks totaling $275 from Virginia Integrative Health along with a letter and other documents yesterday. I was informed for the very first time via this letter that they were keeping $200 due to my cancellation of an appointment 24 hours before it was scheduled - this was an appointment scheduled for the end of April. I had signed a paper saying you have to cancel 2 business days before the appointment. Ok fine.What really ticks me off and what I think is extremely unprofessional is that, as I mentioned, I first heard about this charge on July 12 - 2.5 months after the appointment was canceled. The letter I received also claims that they attempted to call me several times but my voicemail was full. My missed call log going back to June 9, 2018 does not show a single missed call from them and I've had no problem receiving many other voicemails the past couple months. Additionally, they have my email address and I've communicated with their billing person via email. As in the response to this review below, they stated in the letter that they were sorry that no one told them my deductible had already been filled. That's not the case and not what was ever said to them. My plan resets on Dec. 1, I was charged the deductible by them on Dec. 20 but did not actually owe a deductible. My deductible was not fulfilled until I paid it in May 2018 through another doctor visit. They also said they were keeping money for "copays". I paid $75 in copays on Dec. 20 so I'm not sure what other copays they think I owe. My insurance company is again trying to deal with that for me, because according to their records, I should have only paid $45. Update: 7/9/18 - still no check. My insurance company spoke with them on 6/22/18 about some charges VIH said they were entitled to keep because the insurance company had not paid according to the fee schedule. Insurance company said they should not keep a patient's money in that case, that they should file an appeal with the insurance company. I was told by ins. co. that I would be getting a call from VIH. Never got a call. Left VIH a voicemail on 7/3/18 and still never got a return call. Called my insurance company again today who connected me with Calista at VIH who was more concerned about the time her staff had spent trying to figure out the changed amounts (I have an email from them dated May 3 saying that they need to refund me $370.16 - not sure what changed since then) than how they have been so unprofessional. If in fact they did need to figure out the remainder ($500 - $370.16) and take a little longer to do that, then fine - if that's legal then I could understand that. At least send me the $370.16 and keep me informed. Calista said my checks are in their outgoing mail today. If you choose to go here, 100% keep an eye on what you are paying them and your insurance EOBs and everything. read more

I went to Virginia Integrative Health after reading ad in POST about seminar for peripheral neuropathy. After attending the seminar, I decided to further investigate a resolution of my non-diabetic PN. My initial evaluation began with a meeting with Ms Calista Petrie, the officer manager, who reviewed my MEDICARE status and a general overview of the proposed process. In that meeting, I established the following criteria for proceeding: "Patient will be advised in advance of any testing/procedures not covered by MEDICARE. Patient will be provided cost estimate of procedure and procedure will not start without patient approval". Both Ms Petrie and later DR Ginnan agreed to this criteria. When I left the office after my first visit, I was given a lab order for blood work. No effort was made to obtain any of my blood work from my family practice MD. When I went to my local LABCORP for the blood work, I was told that 6 of the procedures were not covered by Medicare and I would be liable for $920 in test fees. Ms Petrie , who prepared and coordinated the blood lab order, never advised in advance of any potential cost. A long discussion with Ms Pertie followed with no satisfactory explanation for failure to meet our mutually agreed upon criteria. In view of the fact that Virginia Integrative Health was offering only elective medical possibilities and in view of the fact that our mutually agreed upon criteria was disregarded, I elected to cancel any future treatments. I will never return to or recommend a medical practice which displays such a blatant disregard for mutually established cost control criteria. Based on the reviews I have read, it appears that both Ms Yvoune Petrie and Ms Calista Petrie have a lot in common. FWB read more

Here's the deal, several years ago I contracted Lymes disease. Initially I thought: no biggie as all I had was a little itching and unsightly bulls eye on my skin. Months later everything started going down hill. Brain fog, swollen joints took over my waking moments. Sounds melodramatic I know but Lymes no joke believe me. Anyway after doctor hopping with the recommendations of antibiotics and rest. I did research and decided to take a chance on Hyperbaric treatments. To be honest utter desperation was the driver here cause really thought it was going to be a waste as I felt far gone. Inside of one treatment my joints felt better, not perfect mind you, but better than it's had in years. Hyperbaric and VIH is the bomb. Everyone was caring, knowledgeable and I felt no pressure what's so ever. It's kinda weird seeing the one star reviews, as truth to the big Guy above, I haven't met a better medical facility. Not to come across like a sickie, but I've been around the block a bit trying to get the Lymes under control. Particular standouts are Doctor Petrie, Calista, Jay and Doctor Ginnan. Gave 1 star only because there is no 0 star setting. Went to Dr Petrie in response to a advertisement for diabetes treatment which claimed that the disease could be reversed. Enjoyed a luncheon and presentation which caused me to sign up and pay for an initial consultation. I wanted to believe what Dr Petrie said and completed a detailed patient history prior to our first one-on-one meeting. At that time, she wanted $6,500 front money for a six month course of treatment and the clouds of doubt began to gather. A quick internet search reveals that Dr Petrie received a disciplinary action from the Virginia Board of Medicine in 2014 which included suspension of her license for six months minimum and a $25,000 fine. The board's findings of fact included that she "advertised and/or represented her services in a manner that is false, deceptive, and misleading". She is also listed on the Fairfax County Consumer Protection website as engaging in false and unauthorized billing practices. Enough said. Avoid this doctor, her Virginia Integrative Health, and Virginia Functional Medicine practices like the plague. You can't run away far enough or fast enough. read more

Dr. Ginnan and the staff at Va Integrative Health are amazing!!! They are knowledgeable and so informative. They make you feel like family. Dr. Ginnan gives it to you straight - which is the best way for me. Helen is always so helpful and extremely polite. I love these guys. After years of being misdiagnosed and put on medication after medication, I needed someone to get to the root cause of my issues (diarrhea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes). Make sure you do not give them any money until you are actually going in for an appointment! After their "free" talks they will push you hard to pay about $100 upfront for future services. I'm 58 years old and i was diagnosed a diabetic over 15 years ago. Since I've been seeing Dr. Petrie, she is a miracle worker. I came in over a month ago and was in call kinds of pain. My diabetes was over 350, 380. The 2nd week here my diabetes went down to the 100s. I had all types of pain in my feet and today I can wear any type of shoes I'd like to wear. I just sing Dr. Petrie praise. I'm grateful I found out about her. It was the best thing that has every happened to me. She's the best. My energy levels are up and my sugar levels are down. AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS. They are blatantly out to get money and identify themselves as a practice who specializes in focused areas. I was told I needed to satisfy a deductible by the receptionist of $350.00. I scheduled two appointments and paid out of pocket. One for an initial consultation. I was then convinced to schedule a blood test. After my second appointment which was for a blood test, I was told I had to schedule another appointment to come in and receive my results. I scheduled this appointment and unfortunately was unable to make the appointment. I was contacted a few days later stating I missed my appointment, there was no mention of a missed appointment fee. About a month later I went in to see another doctor who advised me I owed a deductible of $350.00. I then called insurance and they advised me the appointments at Virginia Integrative Health were 100% covered and I should not have been charged. I called the office there and spoke with the extremely rude receptionist who advised me "after looking up my paperwork" which just so happened to be readily available that yes I had paid when I shouldn't have but because of my no show I would be charged $200.00 out of that money. I advised her I would not have signed any paperwork outlining a $200 no show fee and that I need all documentation immediately. Throughout the entire conversation this woman kept saying she needed to speak with her manager. First I was told I would get only a potion. I made it a point to say I need to be refunded for services rendered and billed for the no show fee. The receptionist seemed to be playing a game the entire time with me and was likely lying about a "manager". Be wary as this practice needs to have their finances investigated. I will be filing a BBB complaint for this practice. I have never felt cheated or lied to by a doctor's office. This was my first experience of that nature and I am extremely disappointed in being taking advantage in such a deceptive fashion. AGAIN AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALLLLLLLL COSTS! read more

I know the practitioners at Virginia Integrative Health and have benefited tremendously from their knowledge of functional medicine, chiropractic care and nutrition ... and addressing root causes for chronic conditions. Personally, they provided me direction on the biochemistry affecting my mood, digestion/elimination problems, insomnia and fatigue (...starting with methylation and my genetics that influences my inability to properly methylate folate ... B vitamins ... and liver issues which is a detox and protein issue (Phase 2) Maybe this is too much information (?!) but I find lots of people are interested in working with health practitioners as partners in their health. I benefit from chiropractic adjustments, as well. That's what I like (love) about VIH. PS I have a background in billing healthcare insurance claims. It's an understatement that insurance and insurance billing is a mess, a contrived system that often puts patients at odds with the very people whom we have trusted to be partners and guides in our health. I don't know about 15000 supplement charges ... however, I do know that there are allowable fees set by the insurance companies so no matter what a provider bills, the insurance sets the rates. Some lab tests are covered by insurance, many in functional medicine are not. It's sad fact that if you want to really understand what is going on with your body/mind/spirit, you simply cannot expect managed care insurance to cover it.
