It worked out well that he had been there and had the other buyer back out so we could ask him anything about what he found and really dig into it. Garrison was quick to get to work, to double check everything and make recommendations of all kinds. While we love the house, we tried to keep an objective mind and waited for any huge red flags. Luckily, despite the age of this house, Garrison gave us a report back that didn't give us any cause for alarm and we're closing later this month. He was very helpful, very thorough, and well priced. I was looking for a radon mitigation tech because my home tester device was reading over 12 pCi/L, which is very high. The EPA recommends mitigation at levels above 4 pCi/L. So, I called A1 Healthy Homes for a radon mitigation system quote and James sent me all the relevant info. The appt only took a few hours, and a few days after the mitigation system was installed our radon level was reading below 1 pCi/L, which is excellent. First of all they only did a visual inspection and their dog which is a complete gimmick was no where in sight; no air quality tests or anything. At the time I was ignorant to how devastating mold could be. Fast forward about two months after I moved in, I had become ill in the house and trust me when I say that mold will wreck your life physically and financially it can. When I finally figured it out myself that the basement had water intrusion prior to moving in and the entire carpet was filled with mold it was too late. So please tell me how a qualified mold inspector misses that? There were multiple toxic molds in the home which required a full remediation. I even ended up having to sell the house within the first year due to being so ill. So if you want to save yourself from possible mold issues and financial and medical devastation use a reputable industrial hygienist to inspect your home not these guys. Yes they get away with it because there are no real laws in Kansas or Missouri about mold.
