He also gave me some pointers on what to do if you find yourself in a bad situation in a parking lot, etc. I found the one-on-one lesson to be informative and a good way to let off some steam while gaining some coordination and muscle . He does offer group classes as well as one on one classes (included upon appointment with a monthly membership) . I would like to get a few of my friends involved in a monthly class . Chris put me at ease as it was my first time doing any karate style moves. I highly recommend this establishment!

It gives you a super intense work-out and I always feel so stressful and relaxed after (even if I dread coming here sometimes after a long, hard day). The teachers/employees here are super nice and they will walk you through everything. The students that join the classes are also very welcoming. Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and do not be afraid to ask questions and push your limit. They're all supportive and they want to push you to succeed. They won't make you do more that you can't. Definitely give this place a try if you're trying to look for some fun way to work out! P.S., they have classes for kids too. His dojo is well equipped, for example, with three heavy bags, coaching mitts, air shields, and a large gymnastic mat. It is quite acceptable there to either go through the belt program progressing to black belt, or just physical training. Training is individualized or, as indicated, in small groups. Sensei Hutch is very flexible about scheduling. Fees are very reasonable. Altogether it's been a rewarding experience, good for physical and mental health.

Currently Coed Muay Thai is offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays with the addition of a ladies only class on Wednesday and Friday. I have learned so much and I can feel my body becoming leaner and stronger with the cardio that Muay Thai offers. I have also been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for about under 2 months and this is something I do not regret starting up. BJJ is taught by blackbelt Joshua Ketry and he was born to teach as I fell in love with BJJ after my first class. BJJ is offered Monday - Thursday and Saturday mornings. BJJ is a ground type of martials arts that deals with a lot of grappling to defend yourself against an attacker. The idea is that a smaller, weaker, person can defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, person by using techniques to achieve submissions by chokes and locks. I take all the classes as I feel incredibly empowered as a female to learn something that can help me if I ever find myself in a situation that would call for my BJJ training. The instructors are top notch and the students are there to learn and help other students achieve the same thing there are, to be better than you were yesterday. I highly recommend checking out BUMA if you are looking to get into Muay Thai, BJJ or Judo whether it be for bullying, defense or just an amazing work out.

Therefore, they had us all take off our shoes but keep our socks on. I'd also recommend wearing gym clothes, as you'll want the flexibility and may start to break a sweat too! They provided lightsabers to use during the class and taught us the basics- proper grip, footwork, and five moves. There were 2 instructors and 6 students, this was a great ratio as the instructors helped us individually with the movements. They were also very patient with us which was nice since some of the sequences were complex. At the end of the training they gave us a demo of more complex sequences and discussed what each phase of their coursework covers if we'd like to sign up for a membership. Overall- had a great experience and I would highly recommend checking them out!

I started the 3 month beginner class in August at the Buffalo location and it has been a great experience. For me it is mindful meditation, with joint stretching and balance benefits thrown in. I'm finding that seriously trying to learn this routine is far different from the one off tai chi hour that I've done at a resort or camp, the specificity of hand, foot and body position ..... and trying to remember them in this 20 minute routine ..... is making learning golf technique seem like a breeze. They also have strong Health Recovery Program for anyone who might need help with injury recovery or balance.

Kin-Tora is rather unique, in that it is run in the style of a club, as opposed to a for-profit dojo. As well as judo, Kin-Tora also offers three other styles: Danzan-ryu Jujutsu, Ryukyu kempo, and Wadokai aikido. There are judo classes for both children and adults. The other three styles are more geared towards those 18 and older; however, the aikido class will take teen students (15 and up) with the head instructor's permission. There is also a gym room on the upstairs level with striking bags, a variety of weights, treadmills, and ellipticals. Kin-Tora is probably the most affordable martial arts center in WNY, given that it is only $85 a month, and that fee grants you access to the entire facility, and you may also take as many classes as you would like. They will gladly allow you to try a class for free to see if it something you would wish to further pursue; there are no contracts, no pressure to "sign on the dotted line." They also offer gi (uniform) rentals for $2 per class for those who don't wish to purchase their own uniform, or for those who just want to try a class or two. They also have uniforms for purchase on site at only $45 for a complete set, and they are of extremely high quality.
