Once again, I can't say enough how great Lisa is. Being that I wanted to lighten my hair, I had to get a base coat, gloss, highlights/toner and then I got a trim and blow out, it took 5 hours altogether but the time flew by. Not only is Lisa an excellent hairdresser, but her personality matches to a tee! She even gave me make-up tips on how to make my baby blues pop even more. Wanted to come here for my nails but unfortunately they do not offer powder nor uv gel manicures. With that being said I HIGHLY suggest this salon starts searching for nail techs who are familiar and experienced with these types of manicures. I've been going here for a few years now with the recommendation of a friend and would never go anywhere else. I get my highlights and haircuts done by Ivory here and am always getting compliments. Its a really friendly environment and you always come out with your hair looking great. Since I started coming here half my family has started coming as well. I've never walked out with any disappointment and they make sure that you like everything before you walk out the door. CAUTION BRIDES TO BE!!! This place should just be rated a zero. I can't express enough how disappointed and upset I am with this place. Here's my sad story. As I was planning one of the most special days of my life, my wedding day this place did nothing but ruined it for me. Although this was not my 1st place of choice, it was the most convenient as I was getting ready at my mother's house, which happens to also be the house I grew up in. I call to make my appointment for a hair and makeup trial, I went in, all went well so I booked the place. Set it and forget it right? Nope. Im now about 4 months away from my wedding day and I get a call from the salon owner, Josephine. She started explaining how the lady set to do my hair wasn't available the weekend of my wedding???!!! Wait what????!!!! Did I not already reserve this day!???? Anyway, so here I am stuck having to get another hair trail done by someone else (as if I wasn't busy enough wedding planning) Let me just fast forward to the main point here as I'm talking so much about my hair you would think this review was all about my hair right??? WRONG!! So here we are, the day of my wedding and are you ready...... the Makeup artist never showed up!!!!!!!!!! Yep! That's right a bride's worse nightmare happening... the Makeup person is a NO-SHOW!!!!! And to top it off, the salon had Absolutely NO backup plan!!!!!!! So now, here I am, sitting in the salon with by hair just about done waiting and asking everyone frantically where is my MAKEUP ARTIST??? Let me also add not only was I getting my makeup done, so was my mother and my matron of honor. So now what????? Not only am I about to cry, I'm running behind schedule. The salon ended up having some young unexperienced girl who they called last minute do my makeup Seriously!!!! DON'T mess with a brides makeup!!! Period! Unfortunately for me at that point I had no choice. My makeup of course did not come as planned and one of the girls that worked there did my moms makeup and a hair dresser did my maid of honor. Seriously??? come on?? So unprofessional. This is a wedding not some leisurely event. And you call yourself a salon that specializes in special occasions??? I don't think so. It was an absolute disaster!!! Thanks to Intercessions every time I think about my makeup on my wedding day I get sooo upset and I just want to cry. Upon returning from my honeymoon, I called the owner Josephine to express my disappointment with this place and how it was such an unpleasant experience and it ruined my wedding day and pictures and almost forgot to say, the actually charged us for the makeup. I would def not come here again. I was told one price over the phone for my child's cut and magically changed to $10 more. Also, The women who was cutting my hair asked if I wanted the blow dryer and whenI said yes, she said they charge more for blow drying. Like what??!! Never coming here again! read more

I have been going to Intercession for more years than I can count and every time I leave my hair looks fabulous. My standard ritual is color, highlights, gloss and a cut. Charlie does all of this for me and he is nothing short of amazing. I have reallyyyy dark brown hair naturally (although I haven't seen it in years lol) and Charlie has transformed my hair into a gorgeous red that is spot on every time I leave the salon. I couldn't begin to count all the times people compliment my hair color and ask me where I get it colored or what brand color I use. As any other fellow colored redhead will tell you, red hair is typically very hard to maintain, but I never have a problem with my color, sometimes I go 2+ months between touchups and it still always looks amazing. I came here last week because I had a bachelorette party. I had been looking for a good hair salon to go to in this area for a while, and my trainer suggested this place. I was running late getting ready, as always, and knew it would take forever to blow my own hair out (and I would never be able to do as good a job as a professional), so I called this place on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could squeeze me in for a blowout. Saturdays are always craziest at hair salons so this was a lot to ask, but they were able to accommodate me, and I showed up 5 mins later. I was greeted warmly at the front desk and told to go around the corner and walk downstairs to Renee for my appt. I had no idea how large the salon was when I walked in! I met Renee downstairs who sat me down before anything and consulted with me as to how I would like my hair blown out. This was nice! I had never been so thoroughly consulted with, especially for just a blowout I was just squeezed in last minute for. I explained how I had just come from tanning, and still had to shower before going out, so I needed something that would stay, and asked beforehand for a plastic color cap when I left so I could cover my hair in the shower. I also explained that as part of the festivities of the evening, I would be partaking in a pole-dancing class, so I needed something that would still look good after working up a sweat. Renee took this all in stride and helped me decide on wavy curls that would still look good as the night progressed. I was sent to be washed, then back to Renee who immediately started blowing out my hair. Throughout the service, she was friendly and easy to talk to. You could tell she had been doing this a while and was a professional. Also, after speaking to her about what to do with my hair, I got the feeling she was up to date on the latest hair trends which is always a plus! As Renee was finishing up with me, her next appointment walked in, but I never felt like she was rushing me to get to them. She took her time finishing my curls, and even remembered to grab me the color cap I had previously asked for without me reminding her. I thought this detail important because it showed her attentiveness to me, the client. She finished with my hair, and asked me what I thought.. I loved it! I never had wavy curls like this, and had wanted to try it out but was unsure how it would look. It was beautiful! She sprayed some more hair spray to help keep it in place, and even explained how to properly spray it while showing me. Details like this separate a good service from a great one. That evening, when I walked into the room, I was showered with compliments. It felt wonderful! My hair was absolutely beautiful, and even after a pole dancing class, dinner and some dancing at a club, it still looked good. Thank you so much Renee! I will definitely be back! read more

I went to Intercession Salon for the very first time since it is close to my home. I had an appointment set up for a color, hair cut and blow out. A lovely woman, Jennifer set my appointment with Melissa. I explained all the necessary attention my hair needed after being quarantined and resorting to do my own hair coloring for months. I was a little nervous at first since I didn't know Melissa's capability, but I had been worried for nothing. Melissa was FABULOUS! She took the time to listen to me and really examined my hair's needs, (believe me my hair was badly damaged and wild.) Melissa gave me a great haircut exactly what I wanted. My hair looks beautiful. I will be returning to the salon. I think their prices are very reasonable. The people are very professional and personable. She does an amazing job with color and cut. She is trendy, patient, kind, and knowledgeable with all types of hair. No matter what shade she has used on me I always get compliments. I went to this salon for the first time and had Melissa. She did things to my hair without telling me the cost until she was done. A mother and her two children were there. The mother spent over $100 on her hair. One of her daughters wanted a braid and they charged her $15 for a simple braid but didn't tell her. Also the rest of the staff was very unprofessional. Most of them on their cell phones as well as talking about customers after they left, and complaining about staying late for new clients. I was not impressed by this place at all. The first time I came here I just came for a wash and blow. I didn't have anyone in particular in mind but the person that did it did a pretty good job. I then checked yelp and figured I'd give Lisa a try next time since I heard so many good reviews. The second time I went here i gave her a shot and she just has such a great personality. I only went there for a wash and blow but let me tell u she did an amazing job! No one has ever given me tips on how to maintain my hair and how to restore my dry ends. My hair was set for 4 days which is difficult for me since my scalp gets oily quick. I left intercession with high spirits. The next few times I tried to get her she was booked but I also needed hair coloring so I went with Anthony. Anthony is a darling! He discussed with me colors that would help restore and enrich my hair since it was pretty damaged from highlights that I received from another salon. He did such a great job with the hair color. Since Lisa was sick that day I was introduced to Debbie. Debbie has such a sweet and outgoing personality. Since I wanted to chop off my hair she adjusted to my needs. She was great to talk to and I felt like I had known her for years. Ever since that day I have been seeing Debbie for my cuts and blow outs. My fiancé even had good comments to say about Debbie. I also realize that the second to last time I went to Intercessions I got a comment from an acquaintance: "You changed your hair style." I've been asking for the same hair style all along: a trim, same length and long. I want the sides the same length as the back. On Feb. 14, Debbie layered my hair when I asked for a trim and asked that she didn't touch my sides. I have been trying to grow my sides, so they're the same length as the back. Now my sides are shorter than ever. She cut 3 inches on my sides and as much as 5 to 6 inches on the top of my head. I have a carrot top. My hair and my image are very important to me, and I don't like the hair image I have now, which I had nothing to do with. Debbie did not listen to me, a paying customer. She said, "I cut too much." And I responded, "You confused me with another customer," and she said nothing. She was not thinking about cutting my hair when she cut it or listening to what I said and wanted when she cut my hair. I have gone to Intercession for 14 years and to Debbie for 12 years, but no more. I always have asked for the same thing: my hair should fall on my back, and I want one length. I have never liked short hair or layering, and Debbie has known that all along. I trusted Debbie, and my trust was misplaced. I am very upset about this haircut. read more
