I've gone to the same nail salon in Flushing, Main Street for approximately 8years with the same manicurist. However, both of our schedules changed and I only had time on Mondays while she was off. I also recently moved to 165th and northern. One day I was desperate to get my nails done for an upcoming event and I was frantically googling places. I noticed MD Nail Salon was within walking distance and I recall passing by it a few times. I walk in and it's like a lush garden which I automatically loved! Makes it cozy and inviting - looked clean and updated too. I met with Mia and she was very sweet. I am now a consistent customer and Mia very quickly became my go to person. I feel like I've been cheating on my previous manicurist, so I texted her to say it's over and I'm sorry. :( However, you can't beat convenience and Mia does a very good job- super detailed and concise. She's also efficient AND adorable! They also have so many options! Colors, sparkles, diamonds, bows, etc. They might be just SLIGHTLY pricier than my old place but it's still worth it and I keep coming back. There is even a $10 reward every 10 manicures which is appreciated. Mia always listens to what I want and is very patient. Clean, quiet & professional environment. I got a UV Gel fill-in with designs done by Gigi. I showed her an image & she was able to copy it perfectly. I wanted something colorful & fun & that's exactly what I got! I am IN LOVE. Also, (not shown) I got a gel spa pedicure done by Lisa. Lisa did such an amazing job. Absolutely terrible experience. I left with THREE cut cuticles that were literally bleeding during the appointment. The manicure looks rushed and unfinished. there's still leftover dead skin around my nails and the cuticle work is uneven and messy. The tech was way too rough and clearly not paying attention. Honestly one of the sloppiest manicures I've gotten. Would not recommend unless you want injured cuticles and uneven work. read more

I came here because I needed my nails done, but was too impatient to wait for my regular nail tech. My nail tech was booked until the next week. I was greeted warmly upon walking in. The place is new, clean and spacious. The ladies there were very nice. They had a lot of selection of Japanese acrylic gel, gel colors and dip powder. I wanted to do something different so I picked a pink acrylic gel with chrome. The color is lovely, however, the application was uneven. My nails are visibly thicker at the tips, the gel was over my cuticles and the shape of my nails were filed weird. I got a nice few minutes of back massage. The prices are much higher than my usual nail place, but the nails are not as nice. When I got home I filed the extra gel off and reshape my nails. Lesson learned... don't cheat on your nail tech. read more

I just need to put this out there... I choose a different salon every single year to cut my hair (my hair grows extremely fast. From shoulder to near my butt every year). With that being said, this is why I choose a different one every year to see who can cut the best to my liking This year, I found this salon and surprisingly, they do nails AND hair! That's a win-win for me as I really needed a manicure. Let's talk about hair: I was really skeptical at first. Upon arrival, I didn't see a single person doing their hair. One of the nail techs approached me and translated to what I believe to be the owner/manager of the shop what I had wanted. First off, I got my hair washed. The seats were not comfy as I had to sit pretty much straight and not recline and tilt my head all the way back. That's probably the first thing that I questioned if it was going to be a good experience or not. Second, he brought me to a station and asked where I wanted to cut it to. I showed him the approximate length and he snipped off a bit right then and there. I was sooooooo confused as I've never seen anyone do this before. My mind was thinking "trust the process. I'm sure he has his own techniques". Third, every cutting techniques he did, I was super nervous and kept telling myself to trust the process and eventually after he blew dry my hair, it came out amazing! Wow, that was an epic roller coaster ride of techniques but he did an amazing job! Next, the nails: I had an idea of what I wanted but I also was very indecisive. The nail tech basically helped me decide everything and I was super satisfied with the results. She voiced that my nails were quite short so I gave the okay to do tips. I wanted my nails stronger so we did dipping powder before doing gel polish. Every step of the way, the nail tech was very communicative and I really appreciate it! Since it does take about 1-2 hours, they had offered me drinks. No nail salon I've ever been to offers so I'm very impressed with how attentive and considerate they are! One thing I did notice is, the nail tech always tested out the colors/glitter etc on one finger to show me before doing on all fingers. This is something other salons should do! The quality of the nails came out super amazing! I went for a more natural look so it's pretty basic but it's still beautiful compared to my original nails. Side note: They speak English, Korean and Chinese. Parking is fairly easy to find on the side streets. Highly recommend and will be coming back! read more

I cannot in good faith recommend this salon for hair styling. I did not receive their nail services. I came on a Sunday afternoon requesting a cut + subtle highlights on *virgin* hair. They accepted the request even though it was later in the day, and though i thought it was kind I have spent the past week wishing they had declined my service. I spent 4 hours and $280+tip on a rushed and poorly done service. I was left with over-processed hair and a result that didn't come close to what I wanted. I called back the next day and was offered a tone correction free of charge. Again, this service was rushed and though the result was much better, I did not feel my experience at this salon was worth the premium price tag. I would stay clear for hair styling, especially if you have any type of texture in your hair (2B+ people). In the photos I attached my inspo + hair after both services. I mentioned my hair was virgin prior to the service. I also got a haircut during the treatment, which was completely negated by the damages caused by the bleach. Please note the differences in tones throughout my head and lack of blending. Going to this salon is one of my biggest regrets. read more

New heavy set nail tech is totally obnoxious and I seem to get her each time. Mani/pedis are just ok.

First and last time ever coming here. I got a mani and pedi and the mani was good however when I looked at my pedi, there were two different colors. It looked like the original correct color was the first coat, and they accidentally put a different color for the second coat. When I told them they fixed it right away, however I didn't like how they were rude and told me that it was "just the lighting". Why are you removing the nail polish and redoing it if it's the lighting? Clearly something went wrong. Whether they put two different colors or the nail polish was not good, it is STILL their fault. I also didn't like how when the nail technician redid my pedicure, she rushed through them when I spent $60 in total and tipped $15 for a service they messed up on. I also waited 20 mins before they started on my nails and had to spend an extra 30 mins because they had to redo my pedicure. Another thing I didn't like is when she finished my mani, I was looking at them because why not? But the lady was mocking me and sorta making fun of me. Not sure why but when I looked closely at my nails, she put her face also by my nails moving in the same direction. Is it because I look young? I mean, I'm 26 but pretty sure she wouldn't have done that to an older women. It's very common for people to want to look at their nails when they spend $$ on them. I don't expect a grand service or anything but given that I didn't give them a difficult time through the whole process, I should've been at least treated better. Never coming back. read more
