The situation was most challenging in the living room because the space was dominated by a huge and colorful Persian rug plus a voluminous antique, both of which we love and preferred to keep. We had been told by several highly regarded designers we had interviewed previously that the rug and the antique in that living room were in the way of a successful redecoration and thus "had to go." She rose to the challenge with open-mindedness, imagination, flexibility and sensitivity to art, space and design. Unlike some of the designers I met before, who always try to educate me about what is good and bad, Erin always tries to understand what I like and want first, and then help me search for the best options for my home.
