I've been in a few times now for different reasons, but most recently to pick out wedding bands for both my fiancé and myself. Quick back story on the engagement. My fiancé picked out an emerald cut engagement ring and a little over a month later, I mentioned I don't like square engagement rings. Little did I know he already made a purchase. Panicking, he returned to the sales person, Sandy, who helped him pick out a new oval ring. Since the purchase was more than 30 days prior, he had to pay a $50 restocking fee for the emerald cut ring. (Take your partner shopping before spending a few grand on a diamond!!) Of course we returned to IDC to look at wedding bands. The first thing Dave asked was if he could clean my engagement ring while we were there, for free. Dave was so patient with me, I probably tried on every ring in the store before selecting the very first band I tried on (typical.) He also helped my fiancé pick out two rings for himself. We love coming here because they don't pressure you into purchasing something you don't want. They also have a 4 month no interest payment plan. My wife took her diamond in to get it re set in a new band, one of the salesmen looked at the diamond and saw that it was a lab grown, so he quietly whispered to her that it was a lab grown and not a real diamond. My wife knows what kind of ring she has and I don't know why he thought it was his place to "inform" her of this. But that is completely unprofessional and not acceptable. If I could give negative stars, I would. I had my wife's engagement ring fixed here previously and it went great. It needed to be repaired again, so I took it back. I wasn't greeted like a customer and the lady I spoke to at the counter was extremely rude. I asked for the gentleman I worked with the first time I was there and she walked off with my ring. We went to look at getting some work done for an existing wedding band/engagement ring. We then wanted to purchase another ring to replace existing the wedding band. I have never been treated so inconsiderate in my life, especially at a jewelery store, where the mark up is ridiculous. The woman had us walk around the entire store as she made a short cut thru the middle. She spoke to two other employees and came back with a quote of $525. I asked if the existing wedding band could simply be cut off and the new one put on. Unlike most sales people, or consultants, you would think she would have showed us rings that could have brought down the price of simply removing the upper shaft of a ring and sold us perhaps one that would fit the bill. She had no interest in showing us anything nor assisting us in finding a solution. We were prepared on spending $2000 on another wedding band, but she did not want to give us the time of day! read more

I was told several times that I could exchange/trade a piece of jewelry that was never worn and given to me by my ex. When I went into the store I can't believe how I was treated! It was my first time in there and brought my teenage son with me. And it was my birthday so I thought it would be nice to let him pick out something for me on the trade I was told I could do. But that wasn't true. I was told I could upgrade and pay almost twice as much for something new! Told to find something 2.5x the cost of the original and pay the difference! Then I was followed around the store like I was some sort of criminal. Maybe I wasn't dressed the part, maybe my money isn't good there? It was the first and last time I will ever go in this store. After a engagement ring nightmare with another jeweler, my fiance and I went to IDC in Savannah to look for a replacement ring. From the first moment we stepped in the door we wished we would've came here first. We were greeted promptly by Sandy who listened to our story of how we got here, and didn't hesitate to reassure me throughout the entire process. We thought we knew what we were looking for until we saw a unique mounting that would be perfect after a few custom changes were made. We also picked out a handful of diamonds to be brought in for us to see, and made a plan to return the following weekend. Sandy's enthusiasm is utterly contagious, and we couldn't wait to see what was in store when we returned. The custom CAD drawings blew us away along with the quality of diamonds that were brought in. Sandy and Gary made us feel like the most important customers and went out of their way to make sure we left with a ring, even though the mounting would have to be custom made to order. It came in a week early and is the most stunning ring I have ever seen! I can't say enough about Sandy and the staff at IDC. They took a challenging situation and truly turned it into the joyous occasion that an engagement should be! If you are on the fence about where to start shopping, go see Sandy at IDC. Their team of professionals will take you under their wing in order to walk you through the diamond buying process as if you were family. Buying a diamond should be a joyous experience, and IDC makes every effort to ensure it is just that. I had a nightmare situation in which I purchased a diamond ring through a website that was not up to par with what I paid and it's specified clarity. I was distraught, and immediately brought the ring to IDC to get their opinion on the item. Gary, and the IDC team stayed open after hours in order to walk me through the clarity, cut, and grade process while even letting me look at different diamonds under their magnified equipment. They confirmed my suspicions about the ring with no benefit to them. I kept in touch with Gary and IDC as it took me over 6 weeks to finally get a refund on my purchase from the internet company. There were sleepless nights, and endless emails and phone calls. Do NOT buy a ring that you have not viewed in person, and frankly I would not purchase anything without speaking with experts like the IDC team. After finally receiving a refund from the internet company, I returned to IDC to meet with Gary and the IDC team along with my fiance, and had top level service in choosing our diamond engagement ring. After viewing over 3 dozen diamond and setting options and being coached through it all, we finally found the one. I could almost not believe I was able to walk out of a store with the exact item I wanted, for the exact price I was willing to pay while genuinely having fun in the process all in under 2 hours. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time anywhere else. Go to IDC. Their service went above and beyond what anyone could imagine. They aren't there to make a sale, they are there to help you find what you want. I made the mistake by going elsewhere, and I'm writing this review for all the potential buyers who deserve to enjoy the process of purchasing a diamond. read more

My husband bought a very expansive ring for my 60th, and then this Christmas went there to get me diamond studs. (He didn't realize I already had a set). When I told him he said no problem the sales person said you can trade what we bought anytime. Due to being COVID careful and then some travel, we just went yesterday so it was 90 days from purchase. We were told we were past the return date and you can only trade if you are spending 2x the price of what you trade to move "up" to a nicer piece. This had not been disclosed. I'm standing there in the ring we bought last year, explaining we want to be good customers, and what I wanted to trade for was less $$ than the studs and we were OK with leaving $200 on the table (the price difference). They turned us down, I turned around and will never go back. What a bad experience! read more

I do not normally leave a review. However, I find my experience so deplorable I feel it must be shared. I recently had an antique heirloom diamond cocktail ring stolen from my home. I reported the information to the police and have decided to do some investigating myself. I have been contacting jewelry stores and pawn shops around the area, and called this location. The buyer was not available when I called. The associate advised she would have him call me back. The associate called me back to advise the buyer does not give this type of information over the phone and I should contact the police. That did not go over well with me. I am well within my right to call. In fact, I have probably called about fifty locations so far. This is the only location that has not been willing to look through their purchases. The buyer got on on the phone. He could not have been more condescending as he told me I should contact the police to which I advised I have a case number. He then began man-spaining the process the police department follows to find jewelry. According to him, this is a fool proof process. I had to stop him. He assumed I was uneducated, and we all know what happens when you assume. I informed him I am aware of process and hung up the phone. Clearly, the conversation was going no where. I would never set foot in this place, and I would encourage any one else to do the same. read more

I went to several other jewelers before going to IDC and really wish I would have just gone here first. I had an old wedding set that I was looking to create a new wedding set out of, all other jewelers told me I'd be better off selling it then using that money to purchase a new set. I was frustrated walking into IDC as a last resort (only bc I was trying to use small family shops to help the little man). Gary turned my old set into an amazing work of art in only about 3 weeks and for half the price of what I would have paid for the same thing!!! He gave constant updates on the build process and even offered to deliver me the completed ring because I couldn't make it that day bc of work. The store manager Gary personally contacted me to set an appointment to come in to look around. He asked the name of my significant other prior to us coming in so he could greet her as we walked in. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family! Gary was interested in what we were looking for and also interested in us as more than a sale! He educated us on the 4 C's and the way the purchase works! He was patient and accommodating every step of the way, even offering us snacks and refreshments. Once the engagement band was chosen he helped with selecting the perfect diamond along with giving us ideas for unique wedding bands to go along with it! I live in Cocoa, Florida and would gladly take the trip to Savannah to specifically purchase from Gary due to his customer service and education about such an investment! Thank you, Gary! Having a rough idea of what I wanted, I sent them a message via the contact form on their website to ask if they might have something meeting those criteria in stock. They never bothered to respond, so I ended up purchasing the ring from Blue Nile, whose customer service people couldn't have been more helpful. Having seen Brian S. reply to my review, I felt compelled to update my previous review. Let me make something quite clear, especially to Mr. Brian S. that my issue was not with Torrie Davis who thankfully has been nothing but nice and accommodating to my fiancé and me. To address some points made by Brian S: -"Verragio is running behind their normal production schedule" - My fiancé had called the International Diamond Center on August 1st to ensure that the ring would be arriving on August 8th, when I would be flying down from New Jersey. The representative who answered his phone call, "checked the system" and immediately answered that IDC would not be receiving the ring until August 19th and from there commenced the run-around of "oh no it'll be here by Tuesday..." "it'll be here by Thursday..." and lo and behold it arrived on the 19th... as your "system" had already indicated. Which brings me to my second point: - "...our Sales Associate, Torrie, has continually contacted you and your fiancé with status updates..." - Let it be known to everyone that we did not receive any updated phone calls from Ms. Davis. My fiancé was calling IDC practically twice a week to get updates and never got a straight answer as to when the ring was actually being shipped. Quite honestly the only phone call we can remember receiving from Ms. Davis was to inform my fiancé that, under the instruction of your managers, she would no longer be able to speak to me because of my Yelp! review. That's right! I was banned! Once Brian S. and the managers of the Savannah branch of International Diamond Center caught wind of my less than stellar review on this website they made a point to phone my fiancé to inform him that Torrie can only now handle business through him, and no longer through me, as I left an honest review that must not have been to their liking. :Sarcastic: Bottom line, where I come from we don't do "this." As an establishment, I am shocked as to how they respond to negative reviews and how they handle business as a whole. I almost feel the need to say that good thing this purchase was made by two people, and not just myself, because who knows how I would have ever gotten that ring all because I was banned from IDC for I leaving an honest review of my very unfavorable experience. Like I said before, buyer beware. Am I happy with my final product? After 8 weeks of waiting and an additional plane ticket down to Savannah, yes, I am. Was it worth the 8 week long headache and struggle to actually get an answer from them? Not really. Verragio is definitely sold by more than one jeweler-- go find that one! I had ordered a custom setting that combined elements from 2 of their in-store engagement rings to create a setting for an heirloom stone, after being assured that doing so would be very simple. However, after my order was placed, IDC sent off my diamond to a 3rd party company (definitely not a craftsman as I was led to believe) that manufactures the settings and ttis is when the trouble started. I was not allowed any direct contact with the people actually working on the ring- everything had to be communicated via the IDC sales person (who had trouble returning calls and emails once the order was placed) and by reviewing grainy black and white line drawings that looked as it had been faxed a few times to many. Once they had the diamond hostage I would get notifications about how they couldn't make certain elements of the ring work. For instance, they said they couldn't keep the shank at 1.3mm because the diamond (whose size they had know all along) 'was too large for that' so they would have to make it be '1.5-1.8mm', etc. (of course all of the 'necessary' alterations resulted in a surprise price increase for me). The whole process took months longer than originally stated, was super frustrating, and I ended up with an EXPENSIVE but generic setting that was nothing like what they had agreed to create (in fact, it was a complete waste of money as I wanted something perfect for her so I bought something else entirely). I cannot speak for their off the shelf items, but I wanted to write this review to warn others to be super cautious about dealing with these folks who seem to have such little regard for customer service, client satisfaction, and being honest- particularly when you will be spending a lot of money with them. read more

Long story short, these people do not call you back. I've dealt with them on two separate occasions, and am still waiting on their phone call. My husband and I were extremely serious about purchasing a new ring set for myself, but we had questions they were supposed to call us back on the following day, and we've yet to hear anything back. I'm just glad we didn't make the commitment/purchase from them because I'd hate to know I had purchased my ring from them, something happen, and have to deal with their service on getting a solution to what could be a problem. To say that I am pleased with the amazing service that my husband and I received at IDC is an understatement! We have had many other positive experiences at this store and have left prior reviews but this circumstance deserves a new raving review! My Husband purchased my engagement ring from IDC and it was one of the top designers. Unfortunately we have had many issues through the years with the ring and an incident ended up with us having to bring the ring back in, and that's where I met Jennifer! From that very day she has been "Outstanding" on handling the entire situation. My ring had to be sent back to the designer for review and a warranty claim. She stayed on top of the whole process and kept us well informed. We ended up having to receive a warranty credit back to the store and pick out a new ring. As exciting as that can be to pick out something new, it was at the same time painstaking and emotional no longer having my original engagement ring. Once again, Jennifer was right there at my side with complete passion and understanding. She spent lots of time with us picking out a new ring on a few occasions. At their recent event, I finally found a ring that had the same detail qualities as my first. Looking back, this situation could have gone a lot differently and been way more difficult at any other establishment. It's not every day that you walk in to a place that you purchased an item from years before and they still treat you as if you purchased it from them that very day. The amount of attention and understanding that we received is completely unheard of these days. The manner that our situation was handled was extremely professional, understanding and convenient. Was driving to mall to talk to a jewelry buyer and saw signs for International Diamond Center and decided to stop by. The lady that greeted me was nice enough and pointed me to 'Tom' who looks at jewelry you want to sell. (Funny that there's a review from a 'Tom' that's 5 stars after all the bad ones). I must've interrupted his lunch or something as I got a curt greeting. I pulled out a large gold and diamond men's ring that's been in my drawer for about 20 years that I thought I'd sell. Tom looked at the ring like it was dirty and before he even pulled out his loop started saying negative things about it- diamonds were too small and it'd cost him more to have them set than they were worth, etc. Then he tossed my ring on his scale like it was trash and said he could do me a favor and buy the ring for basically scrap @ $100. The man was so rude and disdainful I walked out of there in tears. There was no reason to be so nasty and superior. Ironically, I own a wedding business and I will make sure my brides and grooms stay far, far away. Thanks for making me feel like trash, Tom. Hope it made you feel good and powerful. read more

THREE STRIKES-YOU'RE OUT! We are on our third transaction with IDC-Savannah, and it will be the VERY LAST we ever have. We dropped off a watch 5 WEEKS AGO to have a simple repair done (re-attach a diamond that came loose from the face and to put the back watch cover back on-after we replaced the battery). We were told we would be getting a call within 48 hours with a price estimate. I told them we didn't need an estimate, we just want the repair done. After a full week we had not heard anything. We called and Tori said the estimate was $35, I said that was fine and asked when I could get the watch. I was told the repairs hadn't been done yet because they didn't hear from is about agreeing to the price, it's hard to agree when NO ONE CALLS US TO GIVE US THE ESTIMATE! . We said just fix it to begin with, no matter what the charge was! I asked how long it was going to take from this point and she said 3 days max. So again, we waited over a week before we called again to see if it was ready. Tori said the repair guy hadnt returned it yet because he noticed the calendar was not keeping up to date and it would cost an additional $35 to fix it. We did not have this issue when we dropped it off. Again we told her to just fix it so we could get the watch back. We are now at almost 5 weeks and I had to call AGAIN to see if it was ready. Tori said Nicole handles the repairs but she was at lunch. Apparently Tori talked to the watch guy yesterday and he stated he would be dropping off 3 watches tonight, but she didn't know if ours was one of them. 5 weeks for a minor repair? An additional charge to repair something that was not even broken when we dropped it off? No phone calls to update us on the status? TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. our 2 previous dealings were for ring sizing and it was the exact same issues of no calling us with estimates, when they were ready or anything. We will NOT BE USING IDC EVER AGAIN! read more
