I love how conveniently located and accessible this light rail station is it is well lit and well maintained. In addition there is always ample amount of security walking on top or down below not to mention also on the light rail. I definitely feel safe and secure, catching the light roll here from the international District location at all hours of the day or night. The train takes you straight from the airport to the city. I paid $6 for a round trip. One way is $3.50 or $3 I think. This is a lot cheaper than the train in Denver that does the same thing! Very convenient as you don't have to deal with traffic. Also lots of staff present! So it feels very safe. It makes many stops and this stops right at Chinatown read more

Seattle has a very good international district and Chinatown. It's fairly diverse in terms of lots of different Asian cultures and cuisines, mostly restaurants though and not as much shopping. read more

I was not really impressed with the International District/Chinatown in general. There was a lot of homeless population out front of the station entrance. More here than any other part of the city that I saw. The elevators had urine in them so used the stairs after that lesson. A lot of the buildings surrounding the station were boarded up. Security was present at the station so no complaints there. We arrived at the station, walked up on the streets, made it a block, and turned around back to the station to catch the train back. It's a spacious station and not much trash inside so an effort is made to keep it clean. No additional comment on the urine soaked floors of the elevator is needed. read more

One of my favorite stations and part of the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. I like it because it takes me right to my favorite local shops and restaurants. This station isn't completely covered. It allows for natural light which is nice. It sucks when it rains though. I can't tell you how many umbrellas I've left on the train. As for art, there is plenty. On the platform there are origami designs on the wall called "Paper Chase" by Sonya Ishii. On the plaza there are poems, Chinese calendar symbols, art created by elementary students, and trellises. These art pieces are truly easter eggs. It's easier to depart here for football games. Since there aren't any reasonably priced restaurants at Stadium Station I'd rather get off at Chinatown and grab food. Lots of options for dim sum, hot pot, bubble tea, pho, and sushi. The area also has Amtrak and the Sounder Train. I used to bring my lunch to Union Station since they set up tables and chairs and it's a nice quiet place to relax. Not sure if they still do that though since it's been a couple years. Uwajimaya is a pretty cool place to visit too and it's super busy on the weekends. The Wing Luke Museum provides tours and has a cute gift shop. Lots of bus transfers on 4th, 5th, and Jackson so it's a high traffic area. read more

The International District Station is a below surface station but it's exposed to the air so you should be able to get a cell signal here. With a big bus station above and proximity to the Chinatown district of Seattle, you'll hopefully be here often. Well lit and with security cameras and actual security people here, I felt secure here. The station is on the Seattle Link line between Pioneer Square (to the north) and Stadium (to the south). There are automated ticket vending machines and readers for you to swipe your ORCA card. read more

Seattle's Chinatown has changed so much over the years. First off, talk about this new bus terminal/station! There is much less gridlock with all of the downtown buses being streamlined in the underground tunnel. The traffic above ground has indeed improved for the better. If one thing that I do miss from the old days, that will be the ride free zone for the downtown area. One thing for travelers, just remembers to tap your metro card before you step on the Link. For other buses, you tap once you are on board. The restaurant scene in the immediate vicinity has also changed over the years. There is now a new burger place, a new hot pot place, and others. It looks sleeker and feels cleaner. Some restaurants have been around for decades that are still very much bustling. It is always a good idea to carry cash with you when you want to eat out in this area. The only downside to this Chinatown station is that you cannot reload or purchase your ORCA metro card here if I understand it correctly. Better go to the Pioneer Square station or Westlake Center station. read more

BoltBus (Seattle to Vancouver) is basically a branded Greyhound service. It's not too bad, given that it's cheap and comfortable with a couple of amenities such as wifi and electric outlets. However, the curb pick up in Downtown Seattle and boarding process is super confusing. Everyone is asking everyone else about the buses. The app isn't helpful and bus numbers don't match the service number listed on the ticket. Fortunately we had a great bus driver with a strong sense of customer service. He was helpful during pick up, explained the boarding crossings, stops, and everything in a step by step manner. read more

Besides the availability of buses at this station when I miss my Sounder train, this station is a place I envision to be the scouted location of a horror movie in Seattle. It is so dirty, and reeks of urine, and there are always at least two crazies roaming around chasing around the pigeons or harassing you while you wait for your bus. Not fun. This is the kind of bus station I would tell my friends/ family to only come in broad day light and avoid if at all possible. I saw in the other reviews that the station workers are friendly but I have yet to see any in the 4+ times I have waited for a bus to Kent in the past. read more

I like this station. As the name indicates, this station is located in the I-District/Chinatown. If you are heading to a concert at WaMu Theater or a Mariners, Seahawks or Sounders game from the Eastside, this is is your stop. Head up the escalators and cross the road on 4th Avenue to get to your approrpriate venue. You might want to get something to eat nearby before heading over. Or perhaps something after the event. The station is convenient for those taking BoltBus to and from Seattle as it stops in front of the station on 5th Avenue. Also, the station is good for those taking buses to the Eastside on I-90. It is easy to take a 550 or 554 from this stop as well. Both buses serve downtown, but are a couple streets away from each other. At this station, the distance is just an escalator ride or staircase away. Though since this is the last stop before it heads onto I-90, the bus will be fuller than at earlier stops. This is a good station as it is conveniently located and serves as a better transfer point than a few of the other stations in downtown Seattle. read more

This is such a convenient bus stop, as the location is central to several places. As the name indicates, this stops right into the International District where everyone knows has some of the best food in town. Secondly, it's also walking distance to Pioneer Square, Sodo, and most importantly, both stadiums. I never ever drive to the stadiums because the bus stop here is so conveniently located, that driving seems silly when you can just take the bus and walk a short distance from here. The bus stop is in the tunnel, so there are stairs, escalators and elevators. There's also a kiosk to buy an Orca card, as the Sound Transit goes through this stop, too. During games I always see security here. Overall, I love the location of this stop and am so glad it exists, as I find that going into this area from the Eastside is always super easy. read more

This is an all self service and by that, I meant uploading your app and learn to use this system. I find this very convenient to get to and from Seatac Airport. This is the only time I would use this and to avoid the congested 5 freeway to reach the airport specifically. No fuss and I save so much time. It also saves me money. I love taking the link. It's a bus/train station. Nothing too special, nothing too terrible. The train arrives every 6-10 minutes to whisk you downtown or to the airport, which is obviously awesome. Several buses still stop here too (it's part of the transit tunnel at the moment), but that's going away soon as the tunnel is becoming train-exclusive. The station is very close to all the interesting restaurants in the ID. It's also a short walk from Uwajimaya, Daiso, and Kinokuniya--definitely short enough that carrying shopping bags isn't too inconvenient. The park is nearby too, which is cool if you want to kill some time or enjoy the sunshine on one of the nicer days. Amusingly, every airline that flies to China from Seattle seems to have bought ad space here. This is (no joke) how I learn of new routes out of SeaTac! read more

It's an easy bus or train ride to get here as a transport hub to nearly anywhere in Seattle or in Washington for that matter.

Despite this being in a pretty dirty part of town, this station gets more maintenance than others. The entrances can get confusing depending on where your next destination is, but the location puts you near many other transit options, while also putting you near local shops and eateries about five minutes walk. As per usual, there are usually as many security guards as there are passengers, but most in this area are probably ready to head home soon. The art in this station is appropriate for the theme, but it could stand some updates from time to time to draw more people into the international district. read more

It is served by Metro and Sound Transit buses and Central Link light rail trains. Though it is several levels below the street, it is a roofless below-grade station located at the intersection of 5th and Jackson, with entrances on 5th between Jackson and King, and on Jackson just west of 5th. 3,300 daily Link light rail boardings are predicted for the year 2020.[1] The station entrances are laid out to be complementary to the restored Union Station. The station was called (and is still commonly referred to as) the International District Station until the Metropolitan King County Council renamed it International District/Chinatown Station on October 19, 2004.[2] Transit Connections International District/Chinatown Station is part of a cluster of transit facilities. It is near entrances to the Seattle stop of Sounder commuter rail (which boards north of and south Jackson along 4th) and across 4th Avenue from Amtrak's King Street Station.
