This was fun! Great views of the city. go early enough so you can get upper level back seat for the best views leaving Pier 50. I learned about this from a YouTube video when planning our trip out to Seattle and added it to the list. I would definitely recommend for the view and for a chance to be on the water. Crossing takes roughly 15 mins but there is time to load and unload so it departs every hour at Pier 50. We went over and back on the same water taxi but had to get off and back on.

Be sure to dress for the wind. The short and quick trip across Elliott Bay brought refreshing and pretty views. Though regular fare using an ORCA e-purse is only $5 each way, use an ORCA regional day pass (now discounted through 2025 February 28) if your trip includes other segments totaling more than the day pass. ORCA draws from your card e-purse a small additional fare to cover fares beyond the $3.50 maximum segment.

This was my first time taking a ferry that also transports cars, and it was such a fun experience!…read moreWe did have to wait about an hour before departure since we were bringing our car along, but we made the most of it by walking around the pier and pike place market before returning when it was time to board. I thought it was really interesting that you have the option to either stay in your car for the duration of the ride or head upstairs to enjoy the indoor seating areas and walk around the ferry. There was also food available for purchase, plus puzzles and other little activities to help pass the time. My absolute favorite part, though, was taking in the views. The Seattle skyline, Bainbridge island, and the ocean scenery were all beautiful to look at throughout the ride. The trip back was especially stunning since we caught it during sunset golden hour, which made everything even more picturesque!! Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience and a fun way to travel to and from Bainbridge Island! I would definitely do it again :)

There's even a hybrid seating that allows you to feel like you're outdoor but it has an awning that blocks the wind. Make sure to check the schedule for accurate boarding times!

We ended up really enjoying the tour and would highly recommend to visitors. This would especially be a great thing to add to your itinerary if you're only in the city for a short time, as you get to see a lot of landmarks in a short time. You also get to hear about the city's history and key industries. The ride overall is pretty smooth, and my husband, who gets motion sickness, was totally fine. The boat when docked can experience a little more motion, however, so your mileage may vary. We also found it easy to get seats with good views, and the guides were easy to hear anywhere on the boat. The crew were friendly and engaging, and Angelo and the other staff were very kind to us when my husband and I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary.

The check-in and onboarding process was super easy. The ship promptly left dock at designated time. The top deck had open view. The second level had enclosed area with glass window views. Also both ends were open to guests as well. From start to end, the staff member did an amazing job of narrating many aspects of the views from the deck. A lot of it was about the downtown Seattle buildings, Space Needle, buildings and parks by the shore, the sea ports and many other cool facts along the way. I throughly enjoyed the hour long tour. The weather was also fantastic to take stunning pictures of the downtown, the mountains and the port. They also had a bar in second level where they served alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, pop corn and some small snacks. Prices were decent for it being a tourist activity. We liked both popcorn and the strawberry lemonade.

10/10!!!! SO EXCITED I SAW GREY WHALES & ORCAS!!! (&ETC)…read more Based on the reviews we were a little scared to try this company BUT it turned out so amazing! I think people only leave bad reviews when they don't get what they exactly want! Anyway- the workers were so welcoming! The process was very easy from buying the tickets to the end! We got there just in time (not the 45 min ahead like it said) and it was perfect! (Maybe before we were the first boat of the day?) Once in the charter it didn't take long for us to leave. While they are taking us out towards where the whales are... They told us a bunch of stories a bunch of scientific facts and a bunch of tips and tricks! We also saw a bunch of sea life just heading out to the whale areas! (Seals, starfish, birds, fish, jellyfish , etc) The ride was smooth and beautiful- DEFINITELY COLD (even if it's 90F in Seattle)! But the views are beautiful- both of the sea and Seattle!! It didn't take very long to get to the areas but once we did everyone had the same goal - SPOT THE WHALES!!! It didn't take us too long because we got lucky! There was a lot of activity that day! We ended up seeing 6 different orcas and 1 grey whale!! Super fun start to our day and now I can say I saw whales(:
