We've had the same jeweler in Houston for decades who custom made all the jewelry we were wearing which the man who forced our detour away from the salesperson we wanted apparently missed as he looked us up and down yet apparently found us wanting. He was disinterested from the start, despite depriving us of the saleslady we wanted. He never let us past the first display case of diamonds. When I asked about other gems, he told me one of the dumbest things I've ever heard--that colored stones are more expensive than diamonds. This blanket statement is so absurd on its face as to be unworthy of discussion. Whether he meant it to be insulting or merely dismissive, it served its purpose to make us leave. Instead, we went to MRT in East Providence. They are awesome! We found a lovely ring and discussed a few future purchases as well as the design for a new sapphire and diamond ring. We found a new jeweler after all but will never step foot in Providence Diamond again, not even to have my Rolex or Baume & Mericier, either of Mom's Baume & Merciers or her Tag Heuer cleaned.

We arrived more than 30 minutes before that time only to find the store already locked up and staff leaving the parking lot. I was visiting family from New York City and made the drive with the hope of purchasing a father-and-son timepiece together. Having your time wasted is frustrating any day, but especially after making a special trip on a holiday based on information provided directly by the business. If the business communicated 2:30 closure then we would have planned accordingly. Communication is key so everyone's time isn't wasted.

The owner said he also touched up the lugs of the watch. I Inspected the watch and I noticed edges of the lugs did not have it clean line to them. The side of the lugs that were supposed to be polished were brushed. And the end links had a new circular brush pattern. He attempted to repair this. When I got home, I noticed that the links have a different sort of brush pattern than the rest of the watch. I called him. He said bring it back again and I just don't think it's worth it. I may have to send it back to Rolex. I do not recommend bringing a high end watch to him. He was not good with following specific instructions.

Today was the first time I went here to get a watch battery. It was an old watch which belongs to…read moremy father. The watch repair person told me it was 10 dollars to replace a battery which was normal to me. After opening the watch we found out there were 3 batteries, but only one was needed to function for time keeping. She helped save me money, because it was an old watch and my father is 76 and just wants the watch to run. She was professional and efficient. I was also glad that she accepted credit cards. I'll be back for watch batteries.
