Went in to buy a simple gold chain. The man working there was outside of the store when I pulled up and seemed a bit inconvenienced I was there, even though the store was open. I came in around 1:15. He chomped his gum the entire time and seemed disinterested in helping me. I did end up buying a nice chain but I was hoping for a more pleasant experience. read more

My husband bought both my engagement and wedding ring at Zale's. I decided I wanted to get my rings soldered together so I went and asked them about it. They said it would take 3+ weeks as they send it out. Well, thankfully, there was an older couple there purchasing jewelry and they overheard me. She took the time to make sure this is what I wanted and complimented my rings multiple times, always nice to hear compliments. I was recommended by my friends to come here to get my engagement ring resized since I had such a negative experience doing business with Zales, where my husband bought the ring. Initially, I went into the retail side where they have their For Sale jewelry, but there was no one in that half of the store. I went back next door to the repair shop, and they greeted me nicely and took very good care of me there. They sized my finger on the spot and told me that if it still didn't fit right, they could adjust it while I was there. My ring has two rows of little channel stones going about halfway down the ring, and he still was able to work around them. Now my ring fits perfectly and shines brighter than ever. I could have just gone back to Zales and gotten my ring resized at no cost, but the last time I did that, they sent it back damaged. For $30, my ring now fits perfectly, and I didn't have to wait 3 weeks to get my ring back from a simple repair job. These guys have been repairing and resizing jewelry for about 40 years. They know what they're doing. They're professional, friendly people, and I would gladly come back and do business with them again. read more

I brought a necklace here to have the clasp on a chain repaired. The girl was super nice and accommodating when I arrived and tried to fix it for me on the spot! I was told the chain wouldn't be able to bear the heat it would take to repair it (I only needed a new clasp put on). We picked out a new chain and it was left to be put together. I came back a couple hours later to the necklace not being fixed, but broken even more as the loop in the pendant for the chain to be put through was now broken off completely. She was very apologetic about it, but all I got was my broken chain back and a pendant that was fine before, but now broken. Ended up taking it to another jeweler who was able to repair the chain (no heat involved!) and drill a new loop in the pendant. Again, very nice people but not sure what happened with the repair! read more

Brought a $1500 watch in to get a link taken out. Mad man in the back slams it on a piece of wood, dragging the watch all over it without any care to find a place on this piece to bang a pin out of it. Guy does it, takes a link out fine. Goes to put the pin back in and it just goes in with ease and hands me back the watch. I say, "I don't think something is right, you pushed it in with your hand basically" he shakes the watch like crazy, nothing falls out and says bring it back if it falls apart. I'm like, no thanks. Took ring to a higher quality jeweler and they advised that Chief's Discount Jewelery sautered the connection with cheaper quality white gold, stole the clipping of valuable metal and produced an inferior product that broke shortly soon after. I usually don't write reviews, but I felt I had to. I've been in the store three times in the last year. Every time I come in, there are two woman, maybe mother and daughter. Always yelling at each other pretty loud and they didn't stop when I came in. Waited until they finished. Very uncomfortable In that situation. I have to assume it's the owners, because if I had employees like that, they would be fired. They do great repairs, but I dread going in there. My husband bought me a charm bracelet here for xmas..I wore the bracelt 2 times and it immediately started to tarnish..it was TERRIBLE quality and over priced for what was supposidly sterling silver. My wife lost her wedding band so we went out in search a new on. first we went to mall (always a bad idea) then we shopped online nothing caught our eye. so we decided to go to chief's. first off calling them they seem to rush you because there busy. there hours are crappy but there still here after all these years so there doing something right. Now to the experience we walk in he greets us at the door and shows us a few (we wanted one with diamonds and white gold) he took his time showed us a few and we purchased a nice ring for a reasonable price. then he went next door where they clean it. i have been going here for many of years for purchases and repairs. we recently brought several pieces of jewelry to be repaired. one of the pieces was my wifes mother and child pendant that had diamond chips..she looked at it with her loop to see what had to be repaired and said no problem and will be ready in a few days...my wife went to go pick it up and noticed all holes in the pendant and that the diamond chips were missing. she said quote "the repair man was on vacation(how convenient) and come back in a few more days. well she went back and now she said the diamond chips were not there and or when they cleaned it they fell out...what the hell kind of a statement is that...she also said there wasnt enough gold there to replace the stones...if that was the case you should not have done the repair and or clean it...after all they are the experts and she did look at with her loop...she said there is nothing i can do...really???? my wife took the pendant and left the place...i have never written anything like this but this is insane...i will never ever go back there they lost a customer....and i advise others to stay away.... read more
