I had a friend of mine tell me that her fiancee got her ring at Baxter's, so i put that feather in my hat. I "snuck out" and went to Baxter's thinking I was just going to inquire about a ring but I ended up walking out with a slip and a down payment on a ring! The staff at Baxter's couldn't of been any better to me. They had beverages, a cozy couch to sit on, and most importantly WORKED WITHIN MY BUDGET. I was looking at a princess cut ring, but it was WAYYY out of my budget. Fortunately, the awesome people at Baxter's got a smaller diamond from the back and even let me use the glasses to inspect the diamond as they explained it to me. There was no "shadiness" with them. They really put me first. After I proposed to her, we went in and got her ring sized to fit. They're customer service was just like when I went in and they adjusted her ring for free. Most of the "WE BUY GOLD" shops that I visited were unattractive and uncomfortable and I had no confidence that they were honest. I happened to be in Warwick and did a Google search for "gold buyers" and Atlantic Metals Xchange popped up. The location is easy to find (near Trader Joe's) and the parking lot is accessible and the store itself is lovely: it looks like an upscale real estate office which is understandable once you learn that the affiliates of this location are located in Greenwich, Ct and Charlotte, NC. The owner is gracious, receptive, knowledgeable, and patient and as other reviewers noted, he was willing to explain how he ascertains the quality of the pieces and assesses the value. (Mostly it's done by simply weighing items once they've been inspected.) Atlantic Metals Xchange offered absolutely fair (the best I encountered) prices in an environment that made me happy to be there. I would definitely recommend it and if I can find some other mismatched earrings, silver, and/or coins, I'll be back. What a welcome alternative to the other metal traders that seem to be everywhere.
