The back rooms had what I look at as apothecary chest- tons of little drawers, if you can picture it. Except they had several of them and every drawer was filled with different jewelry findings! Beads, clasps, bails- you name it. At the front of the store were a bunch of felt hats that were also incredible. We were greeted when we entered and checked on a couple of times- I really enjoyed this shop. I was very, very tempted to buy myself one of their gorgeous semi-precious gemstone necklaces. Don't be fooled by the name: this is not a shop selling musical instruments and sheet music…read more I mean, sure, there are a few instruments to be found within (bells and whistles and whatnot), but this surprisingly spacious store is so much more than that. Populated with gifts, goods, clothing, accessories, jewelry, home décor (rugs! so. many. rugs!), hand-carved wooden furniture, and curious curios collected from the far flung corners of the world, exploring this place is a treat in itself. It's a self-contained bazaar in a building. The employee who greeted us was enamored with our newborn son, and gave him a free finger puppet, which apparently they do for every little tyke on their first visit, which was a sweet touch. My wife ended up purchasing a few trinkets and a necklace chain, but we spent more time ooh-ing and aah-ing, while conversing with the attendant, more than anything. They all laughed and said NO! So we cancelled our carpet install which was going to cost us $4630 just to have carpet and padding installed in our master bedroom and walk in closet which is only 440 square feet total. They wanted to charge us over 100 square feet more because there Mexican installer told them he needed a lot extra since it was textured carpet. They lost a valued customer! Word to the wise shop around and avoid Carpet Liquidators at all cost!!!!! This location is shady as hell and they will rip you off at all costs. Money isn't an issue for us at all. The ladies were picking out tiles and were talking about grays and I made a comment that grays are going out, as a designer warmer colors are coming in. He was rude to me and said , Lisa his wife is already working with them. Listen, I'm not coming in to steel clients, I was there to buy carpets . He, didn't care why I was there! The entire interior had just been freshly painted the day before carpet installation began. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed to see paint scratches on the walls, baseboards, and door frames from the carpet install. After checking the contract, I saw that Jay's Flooring states they aren't responsible for any damage in these areas. While the carpet itself was installed fine, I won't be hiring them again. That said, I should have read the contract more carefully.

You ever show up at a store toward the end of a huge sale and just buy something so you can say you…read moredid? Well, that's kind of how we ended up with a new rug that didn't fit where it was supposed to. However, my wife refuses to admit defeat to any purchase, so we started to look for someone who could help us, which led to a trip over to Kent. Ward works out of his home workshop, which is a converted garage. We showed up with the rug and he welcomed us in. One of the nice things about visiting someone working out of their home is seeing the tools of the trade. It was interesting watching Ward split and reassemble the rug, like a live episode of How It's Made. Ward was very friendly and courteous. An hour later, our rug was resized and ready to go, with an additional kitchen mat made from the excess rug to boot. Ward's work is exceptional and worth every penny.
