We own a rental house in Marysville, WA, and after our tenants moved out, we needed to replace the carpets quickly before new tenants moved in. The entire interior had just been freshly painted the day before carpet installation began. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed to see paint scratches on the walls, baseboards, and door frames from the carpet install. After checking the contract, I saw that Jay's Flooring states they aren't responsible for any damage in these areas. While the carpet itself was installed fine, I won't be hiring them again. That said, I should have read the contract more carefully. read more

I am very impressed with the integrity of this business. They gave me the best quote so I chose them to replace the carpet in my bedroom with hard flooring. There was an issue with the initial installation so they redid it at no additional cost. The installers did a good job including careful handling of my baseboards so they could be reused. Jay's just finished a difficult job at my house near Arlington with excellent results. The work entailed installing new oak stair treads to the daylight basement in my custom house. They removed the old builders treads, added new treads and new molding, sideboards to the stairs. There were some challenges with stair spacing and the trim and odd corners but all were satisfactorily completed. Jay (Caesar) worked with me to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction and even came out to the job site twice and assisted his subcontractor in suggesting how to proceed. Out of three bids for this job, Jas was in the middle, with competitive pricing, good workmanship and good cleanup. Jay's guy even came out to pick up the unused materials for return credit. We've been following this firm's progress over the past several years, as they had done a lot of advertising locally. Met "Jay" in person at the senior show in Everett last year and was very impressed with his work ethic. Same deal when we saw him at last fall's home show. We've dealt with and contacted other flooring companies in the area and his attention to customer service was far better. We've found in the past that most quotes are pretty close so that was less of an issue than getting the job done right. So when it was time to replace almost all the flooring in our house, we chose Jay's. The staff in the store (Alec, Karina) greet you when you enter and get right to work helping you make the best choices, in addition to putting up with customers like us who want lots of samples. They have a nice showroom at their new location in north Marysville. We were doing carpet and laminate so it took a while to choose just the right ones. Installers John and Mario, with assistant Claudia, were the kind of pros who make others look like they are standing still. Talk about work ethic! They ate lunch while they worked. The carpet part wasn't too difficult of an install job except for having to move large furniture into small spaces to get it out of the way without having to haul it downstairs. The laminate was a different story, as there were multiple different types of flooring and levels of flooring that had to be replaced and evened up. There was base molding that had to be removed and the laminate engineered to go under it properly. These guys had a better idea for minimizing transitions (actually eliminated them) than the salesperson and the cost was basically the same. I would have run screaming, but they did a beautiful job and we are really happy. They left the place nice and clean every night when they finished and put their tools out of the way. One tiny, tiny thing that we would have changed. They had to cut and move a lot of materials from outside and that's when the weather was right around freezing. We were upstairs babysitting our dogs and were super cold, as they left the front door open between going back and forth. We get it, but would have appreciated the door being closed more. We mentioned this to Jay and suspect they'll be more careful next time. read more

The showroom staff at Jay's were great...knowledgeable, helpful, and patient while I persisted in finding the perfect pattern and colors for my new floor. That being said, the first installation was terrible and had to be completely redone. The second installation was better, but still not great and when I talked to the owner about it he said it was due to the fact that I selected a lower quality sheet vinyl flooring rather than the laminate. It sure would have been nice if they had told me BEFORE I had it installed that I should expect bumps, ridges, bubbles, mismatched pattern and visible mended tears in the material after installation so I could have reconsidered my choice. It definitely makes me wonder why they would even sell a product that installs so poorly. From the reviews it sounds like they do a good job on other products but I'm not sure I'd go there again. read more

Cesar and his team did a great job installing LVP and carpet in my new place. Cesar was responsive and super helpful throughout the process. His team cleaned up after themselves diligently, which was much appreciated. They also got the job done on time and within the estimated timeframe. My only complaint was that Cesar and I discussed not moving the washer/dryer and that wasn't communicated to this team, so the machine was moved when I stepped out for a few minutes. We recently bought a 1968 split level and wanted to add Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring for its style and durability. After watching several youtube videos, I knew that we didn't want to chance trying to DIY such an important and large project. I wanted to hire a family-owned business. Enter Jay's Flooring--I found them on Yelp and drove out to their showroom based on their great Google reviews. This family is the real deal! Cesar's wife helped me choose a beautiful LVP that they had in stock--the plank is wider, longer, and classier than anything I saw at Lowes or Home Depot, yet comparable in price. By the way, if you are a DIY-er, you can buy the materials from Jay's and install it yourself. Cesar drove out to our new home with the samples and gave us an estimate that beat two others we had researched. His crew of 3 installers did everything--carpet removal and disposal, installation of LVP on stairs, in living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway and installed new baseboards...in 2 days!!! Everything looks beautiful and they left the house spotless. Cesar came out and rechecked everything. I also got to meet his really nice mother in law who was there to help me with my payment, and his adorable kids. We had such a great experience and I know I am helping an awesome family live their American Dream. Once we save up, I'll return to Jay's to do the rest of my floors! I absolutely love posting positive reviews on a company that we use. I honestly think more positive reviews should be posted especially when the work is done above and beyond your expectations when if something goes wrong people are quick to post negative reviews. I can normally tell if an appointment will go well depending on if the vendor is on time, well mannered and very responsive to my questions and needs. After my first meeting with this company on a late night after working hours because it a last minute call anyway due to previous vendors either being non responsive or flaky Jays Flooring showed up on time. He showed me his selection of carpets which he had many to choose from and we went over his pricing which was competitive as well. Once we agreed upon all the terms, he showed on time to our property and his crew was effective and efficient when removing the existing carpet/padding and installing the new and was done within 4 hours. They didn't leave a mess anywhere. They cleaned up when they were done and took all their trash with them. I was very impressed with their workmanship and how fast they got their work done. I have used them again on that same property and will continue to use their services. I do highly recommend this company and will continue to give him additional business in the future.
