Usually wiggling the cable got it to work, but it was progressively getting worse. We decided to take it in to get the charge port replaced. It would be a simple straight forward cost effective repair. The phone was in perfect working condition otherwise. They gave us a discount to replace the battery while the phone was open and we went with it. Got the phone back the same day and everything was working great. They did not comment on the condition of the phone. We simply paid and were on our way. 3 days later the phone stopped charging all together. IT DIED AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. We took it back in for batteries plus to "warranty their work." They took it apart and put new charging components in it and the phone would not even turn on. Mind you before they touched it the phone was functioning except the intermittent charge issue, NOW THE PHONE WAS DEAD IN THE WATER. They said sorry nothing we can do about it. We were furious because the phone was fine before they touched it. Now it wouldn't work at all. They still expected us to pay for labor. I negotiated with the manager heatedly and he refunded us for all labor costs from both days. He was unwilling to warranty the phone and apply money towards us getting a new one. Their contract does mention this. This is where the story gets interesting. The manager claimed that the phone had "corrosion" inside of it. The "corrosion" was the cause of the phone suddenly not working. We demanded to see pictures of the corrosion and they emailed them to us. It seemed like a fishy story. To me it sounded like they broke our phone and were not going to take responsibility for it. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and took our now ruined phone home and had to buy another one out of pocket since they would not warranty their work. We had a non functioning Iphone laying around at home and decided to let our son take it apart for fun. As he took it apart we NOTICED NOT ONE SINGLE SPEC OF CORROSION INSIDE THE PHONE. THEY LIED TO US OUTRIGHT. We were furious and filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB reached out the batteries plus. Batteries plus never responded since they are not BBB accredited. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since the phone was older, but well maintained. We had a functioning Iphone with intermittent charge issues before they touched it. It was 100% dead after they touched it. They claimed corrosion and showed us pictures of the corrosion. Our actual phone had NO CORROSION inside it. At the beginning of the deal we handed them a functioning phone and they handed us back a broken one. You Decide. Wish I would have kept all the pictures. BE WARNED. NEVER AGAIN

About 5 minutes later an employee arrived, reporting he had no keys. I confirmed that they would take debit card, which was questionable considering that this place is pretty shady looking. At a quarter after, the manager's wife dropped him off. I went inside and the manager knew what battery I was there for. When I pulled out my card, the manager informed me they only take cash- no checks or debit cards (unless I would spend $150). I went to a truck stop nearby for cash. When I came back, I was told that the battery would cost more if I didn't give them my older (larger and more expensive) battery. I didn't have enough. The manager tested my old battery for free (it's something) and it was indeed no good. I hadn't tested it myself. So I left with a $32 battery that "will work." He did test that for me as well. I was disappointed at the lack of clear and honest communication. Although I could have caught them on a bad day. Now that I know how things operate there, it would be my last suggestion. I hear great things about Interstate Battery in Fargo. There is also Batteries Plus. But I digress, if you like like cash only deals off gravel roads in buildings with little identification where someone else sets the pace, you're in luck.

When I dropped off my vehicle I told Travis at the front desk that the AC wasn't working and I needed to have the breaks looked at as well. I asked if he would call me before doing any work because I know the AC isn't working but I don't know why. He said yes they'd give me a call. It was almost an hour later and I still hadn't received a call, so I called them back to see what they found was wrong. I was told they had recharged the AC, we're doing a break inspection, and my bill would be $336.00! I was very upset because that is not what we discussed when I dropped my vehicle off and the work was not authorized beforehand. My total bill was $367.16! I was told by Travis that's the only way they can check what's wrong with an AC is to recharge it. I asked what the AC service check for $9.99 includes then?! Travis said, that service includes turning your AC on and feeling if it blows cold air or not." I will never go back to this place and am appalled that they advertise a special AC check for only $9.99 that really ends up being a charge of $367.16 for an AC recharge!

I spoke to my boss at work and he recommended Mike's Southside. It was close to work so I decided to run it over there hoping for just an oil change and new brake pads. I knew something else was probably wrong with my car because for well over year my Nissan Murano was being extremely loud and I had been asking the place I used to bring it( I won't name them specifically but they are a "big" lot in Moorhead ;)) what was wrong, they would just tell me that Nissans are just loud cars and my car was fine. It turns out that not only did I need an oil change and brake pads and new rotors, but my car was not safe to drive-the wheel bearings and hubs all needed to be replaced and were basically about to fall off- and that was what was making my car extremely loud. Mike saw that I was panicking about what the cost would be as my finances are super tight at the moment. He went out of his way to call around for the best possible prices on parts, he got me in that same day (I dropped my car off while I was on a break at work and picked it up during a later break that same day), and he gave me a deal on everything and he made sure I could afford it. It was still a lot more money than I was expecting to spend at the beginning of the day, but anywhere else it would have been much, much more expensive. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but a friend of mine who does know a lot looked up prices of all the parts that they replaced and considering what labor should have been and how quickly they did everything, my friend told me the price was unbelievably fair. As a woman who knows nothing about cars, I know I am easy to take advantage of when it comes to work needing to be done on my car. I really felt that Mike and his team had my best interest at heart. I feel like my own dad was taking care of my car that day. My car is now quiet and drives like brand new. This place has won my loyalty and I will be going there from now on! They are absolutely wonderful!

They told me they checked the coolant, even had a report on how good it was looking. There was no coolant in my car. This shop is terrible. I spent $5,000 fixing my car with them and paid and extra $300 with another shop to fix the things they screwed up. Also they said they would call me this week to explain the situation to me and I still haven't hear from them. Don't trust them, go somewhere else... seriously

Even though the engine is under warranty, then Hyundai Motors DENIED the replacement of the engine due to "Excessive Maintenance Neglect." In response, I provided pages upon pages of maintenance records. The service manager Kyle Deikmann even told me we had more records than anyone else has ever given. I repeatedly asked for the exact photos, diagnostics, and a clear explanation of what specific "maintenance gaps" they were claiming. Gateway and its employees refused to provide all the photos and diagnostic documentation. When I went in to speak with the shop director Luke Bentley and two other shop managers (Kyle and Aja) , I was thrown out of the office simply for asking for the photos and diagnostics--after I filed a BBB report that Hyundai Motor America told me to file. Meanwhile, my elderly mother still cannot get her car fixed and is struggling to get to her doctor appointments, so we are now in a lawsuit. Gateway has been unprofessional, rude, and non-transparent. Consider this a WARNING before doing business there.
