called *11 to get my car towed through AAA and was told my *11 not to call AAA because they were affiliated with them. I was towed 30 miles in the opposite direction due to the driver had been working 16 hours already and needed to go home. the person that picked me up OFFERED to diagnose my car free of charge and let me know that the amount of miles would not count that we drove back until we got back to where I was picked up from. when we got back to the shop, I was hesitant for them to look at my car even though I was told it would be free while I wait for the new driver to take me to my destination. i was told it would take Only a few minutes to diagnose but it ended up taking an hour. I went into the garage to make sure that everything was ok when the manager (one of the mechanics mother) came to yell at me saying I couldn't be in the garage and if I had a problem I needed to go somewhere else. remained pleasant and even asked her for a job application. as I still waited on my car, they let me know that my engine had something wrong. They refused to get me an estimate on how much it would be to work on it But offered to fix it instead of me getting it towed. But having me pay to get my car out of the garage. I let them know my AAA was active so I shouldn't have to pay to get my car out of the garage when I was told it would be free. They took my AAA info and called them to give them the info and told AAA that the miles I would be traveling DOUBLE the amount I was actually traveling. I had to correct him while he was on the phone and it seems to upset him. They kept trying to push the issue that my policy wasn't going to cover the amount of miles even though my premier plan in fact covers the 200 miles. they then refused to take me back to where they picked me up from and forced me to pay to get my car out of their garage even though I was told it was free of charge. I'm also not sure about who called the police but one car showed up while someone else was there in their Pajamas working on their car, assuming it was a friend of theirs. This may be some type of discrimination. Since the "owner" made sure to make every comment as snarky as she could before I paid for when I didn't have done and left. She tried to charge me almost 400 for a diagnostic test when I had already told them that It could have been my engine and they insisted that it wasn't and told me it was wheelbearings. They refused to tow me back to where they picked me up from and took advantage of me because I was alone And at their mercy to get where I needed to go. Very sad experience and I would let anyone that is a woman or person of color to be cautious when using this place. read more

These guys are baller all the way. 24 hour repair and tow shop. Our tow Driver Tom Grabbed us off the turnpike in no time at all. Took us to his shop and fixed the problem with our vehicle in less than 3 hours. Including waiting for him and transit time back to his shop. We were 7 hours from home on a Sunday afternoon when our coach bus full of high schoolers blew a dually tire in the rear. Our driver checked several other places, only to find there would be up to a 3 hour wait! We came across Interstate Emergency Services, & they said they could fix it as soon as we could get there! So we made our way to them, they pulled us in the garage, & they had our tire changed in less than 1/2 hour! Very over priced. Pretty rude as well. Knew what was wrong with vehicle but charged me for a bunch of unnecessary tests. Kept trying to sell me parts I didn't need. Refused to tow it the length needed so I was stuck using their shop since they're the only one to tow on the turnpike. Won't be back there if I can help it! Driver was utterly rude to the scared and alone 18yo driver who had crashed on the PA Turnpike. He cursed at him and wouldnt even help him get his phone out of the car until it got back to the shop. And even then the employees were too "busy" hanging out in the breakroom to get it for him. After paying the ridiculous $700 bill, no one would call me back to explain why there was a $200 recovery fee even though the car was driveable and on the roadside. Don't crash near Bedford on the PA Turnpike or you will be forced to use these crooks! read more

Had a slow leaking flat on 76 East. Headed here, seeing that it was the ONLY place nearby that was open after 5pm. Pulled right in, took care of my car immediately and sent me on my way within 20 minutes. $12 to repair my flat. Staff is very friendly and professional. It is good to note for folks who drive at night that their service garage is open 24/7. Highly recommend! read more

This was the most professional experience I have ever received with my car. New Year's Day, car breaks down on the Penn Turnpike and their tow truck pulls up with a smile and says that he can get us in and out as fast as possible depending on if he had the parts needed. With no fuss they called in the parts, picked them up and had me out of there in 3 hours when I was fully expecting to stay the night. Great service and so kind. The waiting room was comfy with a good TV, snacks and drink machine as well as water dispenser. It could not have been a more comfortable and speedy experience. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! read more

Car stalling at Mid south Bedford rest area on I-76. Seen flashing lights from Interstate Emergency Services waved Dakota down. He was picking up another car. Informed us what we had to do to get towing and possible solution for car. Tried to get our insurance company on phone with no luck. Called Interstate Emergency Services who came right back to tow us to their garage. They were able to diagnose problem get parts and fix within couple hours. The team was professional, trustworthy and kind to us. Highly recommend this company. read more

During the time of the coronavirus, you'll do better to look elsewhere. Although this company promptly picked up our daughter when her car broke down, the driver will put you in the cab with him and will not wear a face mask. And when you get back to their office, the other employees are also mask less. It's a shame that the dispatchers will listen to you request Pennsylvania law be complied with and masks be worn when indoors or in a small space, but for whatever reason this company does not follow through. Their inactions demonstrate a lack of concern for the health and safety of others and/or an inability to respect their customer's concerns. read more

Sunday flat tire on I99 on F350 truck with 2 small kids. Found this garage. Very helpful, super friendly. My kids enjoyed the pit stop in a real garage. Had us back on the road in under 30 minutes. We were so very fortunate to be rescued by Interstate Emergency Services when our car had a flat on the PA Turnpike late in the evening! They arrived quickly, determined that the tire could not be repaired, brought a roll-back for my beloved Volvo C70 and took it into their shop for repair. They gave us a ride to a hotel and promised to find a tire and get us on the road as quickly as possible. They called early the next morning to let us know they'd found a tire and had us back on the road before noon! They also charged a VERY reasonable rate for the tire/mounting/balancing and we know, because my husband is a mechanic! This is a GREAT place and I will recommend them to everyone I know! 1) Even through they say 24 hour servive - its 24 hour only for towing. When I arrived late in the day, they said they will be able to look at the car in the morning 2) No accountability - The mechanic was not ready to give me ETA. They conducted the dignostic and did not give me any information on what their findings were. 3) They are a towing company - if a tow call comes, they will leave everything and go for the call. read more

My check engine light came on while driving down the PA turnpike - probably the most stressful driving experience I have ever had. As I eased my car through the Breezewood exit, I found that very few gas stations here actually have mechanics on staff. Luckily, a passerby referred me to this place. The mechanic was more than friendly; I popped the hood up and he went to work right there in the parking lot. A rodent had been nesting under my engine cover and had chewed up a wire, which he diagnosed and promptly fixed up. On top of the timely service, he declined to charge me because it was so easy to fix up!! (It was way too much to ask of him and I almost had to force a 20 into his hand) You know the old story: traveler finds him or herself with a concerning car malfunction in a completely unfamiliar area and due to them having no other choice, a mechanic charges them a predatory rate for work that may or may not actually fix the problem. My experience with IES was as far from that situation as possible - I even overheard them driving out to fix a car at the Somerset plaza (about 40 miles away)! If you have car trouble on the turnpike, this should absolutely be your #1 option. read more

I have to say - this is a five-star experience for a 0-star kind of situation. While traveling back from a Christmas vacation in the middle of the I-76 Pennsylvania Turnpike, something very scary happened to my car. I got a bright red "Low Oil Pressure" light violently flashing at me. And if anyone knows me even slightly - I have the curse of Hades when it comes to anything related to cars. I literally just changed my oil two weeks earlier for the normally scheduled service check. Great - I was in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception and bunch of groceries that were sure to go bad... However, things picked up for the better when an emergency roadside vehicle pulled up and told me that a tow-truck is on the way. This was a Sunday - right after Christmas Day and the guys at Interstate Emergency Repair were open. They were very kind and professional. They toed my car back to their place, assessed that an oil plug went missing (I have a bone to pick with whoever did my last oil change), and then even got into their truck and purchased a new oil plug, brought it back, and then had my car fixed and ready to go. It was a bit of a wait but all things considered (given the timing, and the entire being in the middle of nowhere situation), it was a good experience. Very good and honest people and did not financially destroy me. While I hope no one ever deals with a situation like this, it is good to know there is hope where hopelessness happens on I-76. read more

My tire was leaking much faster than a "slow leak" on a Sunday afternoon. Stopping to add air every 15 miles was not an option and 150 highway miles on a donut was also unappealing, so I started looking for a place around Bedford/Breezewood that was open, crossing my fingers that I'd find something in such a high-traffic area. Well, the only place I found was IES. It was a little tricky to find, and my expectations of getting whatever needed to be done at a reasonable price and amount of time were low. Art treated me like my hometown mechanic of 20 years. H started with the obvious: visual inspection, then soaped it. He could hear the hiss, but couldn't see it, so he took the tire off to find a pinhole leak in the sidewall (this sucks, because you can't seal sidewalls like you can a small leak in the tread area), but he found me the right size tire (there were no exact matches on site, but it was a similar tread and my other tires were less than six months old) and suggested I try to return the old tire because it looked to be a defect, not the result of a puncture. I was absolutely shocked when I got the bill--it was far less than I expected. While I prefer not to need a mechanic while on the road, I travel that stretch pretty regularly, and I'd go back in a heartbeat if I had trouble anywhere in the vicinity. I'm not a mechanic myself, but I like cars and spend a good bit of time talking to and watching my hometown mechanic and this wasn't my first rodeo with a bum tire...they did everything I expected, charged a more than fair price, and were very friendly and helpful. read more

My muffler fell off on the Turnpike one night, close to midnight, and these were the only guys in Bedford who answered the phone when my mom called around for me. They met me at the Sheetz in Bedford, and had me follow them to their shop. They were very friendly and very honest. I'm a college student who is so naive when it comes to her car that they could have easily charged me a fortune and gotten away with it, but they didn't. They immediately got to taking care of reattaching my muffler and I was on my way half an hour later (which was great, because I was 2 1/2 hours away from home and 1 1/2 from my destination). They didn't charge me much at all either! My uncle told me he wouldn't have gone under my car at midnight at all for what they charged. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. The location is a bit sketchy, but I didn't mind. These guys rocked. read more

On a long drive from Pittsburgh to DC with my young daughter in 5 degree weather, I came out of McDonald's in Breezewood to find my (brand new) tire was flat. I was referred to Interstate Emergency Services by a couple of young guys in the parking lot. I limped my car up the hill to the garage and was helped immediately. The mechanic (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) had me bring my car directly into the service bay so he could check my tire. He kept me informed of everything he did, diagnosed the problem as a leaky valve stem, fixed the problem and had me back on the road within 30 minutes! He charged me $11. I wish I had cash on me, I would have gladly given him a generous tip! I hope to never have car trouble making that trip again, but if I do, I have their business card in my glove compartment! read more
