Since space tourism isn't accessible to anyone who isn't a billionaire or celebrity yet, Interstellar Arc would be the next closest thing. Part of AREA15's lineup of immersive experiences, this experience lasts about 60 minutes. We booked our tickets as part of the Level 2 Experience Pass, which included this as well as other rides and attractions. If you're trying to get your money's worth, this option is preferable to booking Interstellar Arc on its own, despite the small price difference. First, I will say the level of detail that went into creating such an intricate world is impressive. Not only are you peering into virtual reality, you're actually walking through it, which is what truly sets this experience apart from other VR offerings. Guests are given wireless headsets that allow you to interact with your party, including talking and taking photos within the experience. Everything felt surprisingly realistic, which is a testament to how much VR has evolved over the years. However, as we reached the end of the experience, we were seated and, during the final moments, I overheard the workers talking loudly among themselves, which took away from the immersion. And once we took off our headsets, there was no wall or partition separating the seating area from the activity space, so you could clearly see people walking around in headsets in what looked like a sparse, warehouse-like room with guardrails. I just feel like after spending an hour immersed in another world, being suddenly exposed to the reality of the physical space felt especially jarring, like night and day and not the best ending to the experience. read more

They catch your hands as floating hands situated somewhat beside/behind ya. - Within the first couple minutes of the experience I already wanted to snap pics, but too bad that functionality isn't available until your spaceship has already launched. - I paid for 60min, but the experience was more like 55min. Wish we got more like 65min (on the safer side) so we don't feel shortchanged. + Conveniently located near other popular Vegas destinations, like a 10min drive away from the Sphere and a 10min away from the STRAT, the US' tallest observation tower. + After the experience, I felt like my phantom arms were floating in front of me haha - I wasn't super fast, so my accomplishments were subpar. I wasn't efficient cuz I was caught up marveling at the entire VR spectacle. . Tip: Just beware the rideshare situation. Most Vegas venues have designated rideshare locations; you can't just be picked/dropped off wherever. As for Area 15, note that it's a ~7min walk from Interstellar Arc to the southern Uber pickup zone [screenshot attached]. . While we've been to Area 15 before, we didn't know about this VR attraction. We chose to book through the Interstellar Arc website instead of Area 15, as we only needed this attraction for the day. Pre-Experience: We scheduled our entry time for 2:45pm. We were grouped together with another party, but everyone could easily be identified since their names appeared on the screen. Before starting, the staff provided us with quick instructions on how to use the visor. Adjusting the visors was easy for most hairstyles, such as ponytails, buns, and with a backwards hat. Experience: The process was almost self-paced, with us having the freedom to spend time in each area before the arrows prompted us to move forward. Not only were the rails and pathways accurately placed, but the walkways were also wide enough to prevent bumping into one another. Communicating with with each other through the wristwatch was one of the coolest features of the visor. The whole experience took approximately an hour. There were staff/operators roaming around just in case the visors malfunctioned, which happened to one of our group. Given the amount of space, it's one of the most interactive VR experiences in Las Vegas. Pricing: Timed Entry starts at $54 and Anytime Pass at $64. We were fortunate when we bought our Timed Entry tickets, there was a Spring Break promotion for $39 at the time. Really neat technology. The experience is an hour and it flies by quickly. While we discovered futuristic worlds, moved through different levels and areas of a space craft, walked up winding walls, it was humorous to see that we were just in a small room with some guard rails at the end of it. The coolest thing for me was the microphone and photo capturing abilities by the click of a non-existent device or button on our actual wrists. Helpful tip for those with long hair - wear it down. No buns or high ponytails since the vr set will not be able to fit properly unless you undo your hair. Also, a Velcro strap goes lengthwise on the top of your head to help alleviate the weight/pressure of it from your face. I took my daughter here for a field trip yesterday and it ended up being such a cool experience for both of us. The whole place has a very futuristic feel (as that is the theme after all, haha!) and the VR itself was surprisingly calm and easy to get into. I was worried about possible nausea from certain effects, but I was fine and so was my daughter, and I didn't hear of anyone else having negative side effects. The headset was comfortable and I liked that there is a Velcro strap that goes across the top of your head so it takes some of the pressure and weight off your face. It also looked like the equipment goes through a disinfecting process after each use, which I appreciated. There is a lot to explore during the VR journey and little achievements to complete along the way and it kept it interesting and a little more interactive. In the vr world, if you raise your left wrist, you'll see an option to be able to talk through the microphone so others that are in your group can hear you. But, it can be loud. I just moved the headphones off my ears a bit when whoever was speaking was loud. And if you lift your right wrist, you'll see options on taking pictures. Those get emailed to you/whatever email you enter when checking in. One thing I wish was a bit better, is how the names show up. You only see them when you are close to someone, and since everyone appears in the same kind of robotic suit, it can be hard to tell who is who from a distance. The visuals were really impressive and the overall experience was very entertaining. What stood out to me the most was how relaxing it felt to just walk around in the virtual world they created. It was a little cool inside. I tend to run cold (my average temperature has always been 97.6 °F) and I can get cold easily. I was wearing shorts and a shirt, so my hands really cold to the touch. I just would have been more comfortable with a light jacket. On the way out there is a gift shop with some fun merchandise and decor, which was nice to look through at the end. I've never done a total immersive VR experience before so this was a real treat. You wear the VR headset for the entire time besides the orientation. It is truly amazing how it can track all the people around you and put you into a completely immersive world. I was a bit wobbly at first but they have handrails all around to steady yourself. The experience is based around going to another world where you dock with the ARC space station. The whole process takes around an hour. You wander around taking in the sites and learning about the history of the space station and planet below. The pacing is a bit slow but it does keep your attention. Plus there are achievements and collectibles if you are into that. Definitely a worthwhile experience and I'm glad I did it. read more

This was a great and unique experience, and one of the main reasons we went to Area15 for the first time. We arrived when it opened (noon), and were placed in the first departure group. Considering we were using an Area15 experience pass (3a, highly recommend), we could not do a reservation. But because we arrived at open, it wasn't an issue. Zero wait or needing to return at a later time. The experience itself was impressive. The VR headsets were high quality and responsive. Being able to communicate with only your group was a nice feature. The one disappointment was that by the end, it felt very rushed. I get that they don't want people wandering / "exploring" for hours, but we moved at a fairly quick pace, and were still "steered" to the exit before we finished. The 1 hour went by very quick, and we ended up not seeing or collecting as much as we hoped to. The technology is impressive though, and it will be interesting to see more of these experiences in the future. Our host wasn't as hospitable as we thought he would be, he didn't explain slowly and clearly on how to use the helmet. I felt like he was just rushing us in to the fake spaceship. Before we boarded my helmet went blank and when I asked him about it he seemed annoyed. After 30 minutes into the experience the helmet felt uncomfortable like it was too heavy on my head, I wish it was lighter and with more glitches along the way and feeling light headed by the end. If you're into Virtual Reality like I am, this experience will pique your interest For newcomers to Virtual Reality, you may want to be sure you have good balance and you're not claustrophobic. This adventure into a virtual world will last approximately 1 hour. We bagan out journey in a group of six. We're were told that our group color would be orange and if we saw any other visitors in blue, they were from other groups Unfortunately, as our group moved through the story, their colors went from orange to blue which confused participants.. I believe the headsets they were using were Quest 3-S units. If that is true, I hope that they upgrade to Quest 3 units. Make sure to get a good fit when donning the headset for the clearest viewing resolution. I don't want to share too much information, but I had a fun experience. Always stay with your virtual companion, they will guide you through the story and lead you to the handrails to give you stability. I think the creators, Felix and Paul, did a great job, but some tweaking could be done to improve this one of a kind experience.. Especially the handrails that occasionally take time to load. It's important, especially for folks who still don't have their "VR legs". Overall, this was a great experience for me and I hope they work on additional adventures . read more

Omg, this was super fun. My wife and I went not knowing what to expect and frankly with low expectations because other VR stuff we'd done had been disappointing. But, we were totally blown away. The whole experience was super immersive, beautiful, and fun. We were kind of shocked seeing what the actual space looked like at the end. A couple tips... Your wrist camera only takes 30 photos, before it no longer works, so make them count. The silver glyphs are little shining lights that show up like 20-30 feet away. To get them reach out your hand and they will come to you. I am near sighted and wore my glasses the whole time inside my headset and it worked fine. It just pushed them against my face a bit. To talk into your left wrist communicator, put your hand straight in front of you first, then bring the left wrist to your face, so the headset can see it. Use the hand rails if you get disoriented. They are where they appear. Be a little careful sitting in the chair on your return shuttle. The physical chair is bigger than it appears in your headset. Highly recommend checking out! read more

They did a great job explaining how to use the headset and making sure all our headsets weren't malfunctioning. The story is about traveling to a new planet. We can interact with things we see on the way. You can use the microphone to talk to your party. It also has a camera feature for you to use. You can take pictures and selfies of everything. They would load up the pictures you took during the experience to your account. The maximum number of pictures you can take is 30. You need to use it wisely because it won't let you take pictures after it reaches 30. They have handrails everywhere, so if you get motion sickness or dizzy. You can hold on to the rail to walk. Your teammate is the same color as you. You will know who is your teammate and who is not. It is a fun experience for us. It would be fun for people who have never tried a VR experience. My partner surprised me with a trip to Interstellar Arc, and it is one of my all-time favorite experiences I've had in almost 20 years of living in Las Vegas. I was not told what we were doing, so everything was a total surprise. Upon entrance, we scanned our tickets and were escorted to an area to fit our VR headsets. We were then taken to our "flight". I don't want to give anything away in my review, so I won't much detail. It was absolutely mind blowing and very immersive. The staff was exceptional in making sure our equipment worked and we were safe as we explored our virtual world. They were also very informative when we asked questions. This was my first VR experience and everyone in my group had a ton of fun with it. Even if you have a VR set at home, it's unlikely you will have the space to match the scale of what they're doing here. Tickets are very reasonably priced especially if you take advantage of the bundle-and-save option with at least 4 people. Only downside is the messy entry which may be growing pains for how new the experience is. We purchased tickets online from their website but never got an email confirmation. We showed up for our 3:30PM tickets which they were able to locate in their system, but said they were running behind by about 15 minutes. After checking back in with them several times, we ultimately did not start our experience until 4PM. They did not notify us that bags had to be stored which wasted some more time after that. The experience itself lasted about an hour long although that includes about 10-15 minutes of the staff explaining how everything will work. read more

This was the main reason why I bought the level 2 access pass. It's located in another building from the main Area 15 building. I like that you're able to walk around and you can see who is part of your group (it shows the name). I wished that they told you I had a limited amount of pictures to take because I could have taken better pictures. I believe 30 is your max. The whole experience is about an hour. You'll get access to those pictures afterwards, it's sent to your email. Maybe in the future they can add more action oriented VR as part of the experience or expand on more themes. read more

I REALLY wanted to love this, but I had a mixed experience. Loved the idea in the new part of Area15. Entrance is easy to find and the decor in the waiting room really got you into the storyline. We came a little later in the evening, so crowds were thin - our total group came out to about 9 people (a group of 4, a group of 3, and my group of 2) who entered together. The headsets were interesting - I can see how some people may get disoriented but I appreciate the handrails (more on that later). The headset did fall a little heavy on my head, so I had to tighten the straps so it wouldn't fall down. That being said, after some time wearing the headset pretty tight, they did get a little uncomfortable. I thought the storyline and the AR was well done, though there are still some bugs (my whole team looked like they were contorting in weird ways). I liked the ability to take photos within the game and retrieve them for free after the experience. I loved the different scenery and the guidance (the spirit guide and the arrows) to help navigate around. Ok, here are my challenges with this experience: there was a handrail that was NOT depicted in the AR headset. Thankfully my partner warned me when he ran into it, but I feel like that is pretty dangerous to not see an obstacle while wearing the headset. Additionally, what REALLY got me bummed was that we were not told that we had a limited amount of time to experience and explore, so we were very disappointed when it just abruptly made us exit to the final scene... we barely only got to explore half. There's badges and orbs they tell you to collect, but they don't mention to do it quickly. For the price paid, it felt like we were not adequately informed to experience Interstellar Arc to its maximum potential. I kind of wish there was some sort of a countdown timer in your visual space. Also, in the experience, your teammates have a certain color and everyone else has a different color suit. I wasn't able to see my partner (he looked like he was in a blue suit, but he had to be close within arm's range for me to see that it was him). The microphones to communicate to each other were not effective - there was a long delay and I could hear him just through the "soundproof" headset. Overall, though a unique experience and a nice addition to Area15, I feel like the experience has a ton of potential but I'm bummed I didn't get to experience the whole thing. I don't know if I would pay the steep price to do it again just to finish the 2nd half, but without exploring everywhere, the storyline seemed a little incomplete. read more

This time I took a Dramamine before the experience and it helped me with motion sickness - definitely would recommend to those prone to vertigo or unused to VR. Got our pictures this time! Just like last time we ran out of time trying to unlock every glyphs and achievements, so there is definitely more content than what can be explored in one hour. In terms of the staff, I found them to be less informative this time (less tips about how to wear the headset to maximize comfort, and the 'reception' experienced left a little bit to be desired - was not greeted inside the waiting room and when I asked if I am supposed to show her the QR code the response was a curt, no eye contact "I'm not taking anyone in right now"). Without giving too much away, you strap on your VR headset and board a starship headed toward the next era of human evolution and discovery. While on board, you also have the ability to chat with members of your group and take photos throughout the experience. Both features are activated by interacting with icons on your left or right wrist, which feels seamlessly integrated into the world. You're immediately immersed into the reality of Agora led by the diplomat. This is like a mashup of Ready Player One, Wall-E, and Passengers. Probably more sci-fi movies too! The microphone and photo taking capabilities could be tweaked as it got buggy at times but that didn't really phase me too much since I was just too excited to be in Agora! If you're like me and already own a Meta Quest 3 (or any recent headset), it feels a lot like just switching on immersive mode and wandering around with an extra layer of storytelling. The setup uses what appear to be custom-configured Quest 3S headsets in a safe, bounded space with handrails so you don't walk into anything. The storyline is very similar to "Postcards from Earth" at the Sphere - same kind of space travel to a new world and narration - except here you're in full VR and can freely look and move around a bit. Gentle audio and visual cues keep you on track without feeling restrictive. Based off the movie of the same name, this is a VR experience where you travel to an exoplanet named Arcadia 11 lightyears from Earth. For those not in the know, "exoplanet" is a scientific term meaning any planet that orbits a sun outside of our own solar system. The whole experience revolves around exploring Arcadia and looking back at Earth. You basically walk in a circle and are guided by an AI that talks about space travel and building humanity in the new planet. The whole visuals are excellent but I think the price of $64 is too steep for an experience such as this. It can get noisy depending on how many other patrons are there; especially if they are children as those are the only other humans that would physically crash into you while exploring. My personal suggestion is just to buy an Area 15 Level 3 or higher access card (they cost $145+) as they give you access to this attraction plus access to almost all the other attractions in Area 15. read more

FOX! Spaaaace foooox! Lol this was a very interesting and inspiring VR experience where you walk through a space learning about a brand new space colony. As you can tell from mine and others one of the best and cutest parts of the experience is the fox guild. ((Some time 2026 they will get plush toys and stickers!)). I do want to point out a couple of things. I wear glasses and one other person in my party also wears glasses. We were able to wear our glasses with the mask, but after about maybe 20 or so minutes for us our faces started to hurt. At the end of the experience a person did tell me that if he had needed to take off the mask they could have helped us or we could have done it ourselves for a quick break. I would also like to say it is a little hard to use the talk feature at times along with the camera. The camera can be a bit sensitive but when you get the hang of it it's not really hard. read more
