I've lived here for a year and will not be renewing my lease. I have 4 HUGE amazing windows that have never been cleaned and have reached out to management although nothing has happened. The fees are ridiculous-see attached photo. The apartment was disgusting when I moved in and had to spend countless hours cleaning. Dog poop in the laundry area, glass in the dishwasher, mold in the toilet and bugs in the refrigerator. Oh and they expect you to have your A/C at 78 degrees or open your windows if that's not convenient. read more

Greystar has been stepping on renters without returning their deposits at all within the legal frame work of Texas real estate law I'm calling on the Attorney General's office and Real estate licensing to stop the wholesale theft of renters security deposits Stealing is stealing no matter who does it. We must hold Greystar and its employees accountable for their misconduct and getting away for years with the unlawfully taking renters security. I lived here for over 3 years and I miss absolutely nothing about this place. Granted, it was an old building and it was an authentic "loft" built in the 1910s. The staff was friendly enough, I guess. Sadly, they seem to have a constant revolving door though with management and staff - here one day, gone the next. Three managers in three years. My Son (then 9 years-old) was robbed in the hallway at 9am on a Saturday. Someone was likely murdered (shot or maybe beaten to death?) in the Interurban's stairwell. Blood drippings and splatters still on the stairs and on the walls. It was there the entire 3+ years that I lived there. It was jarring, to say the least. Downtown Dallas currently reminds me of New York City in the 80's; absolutely riddled with crime, drugs and the homeless. Sirens wailing almost nightly. Aggressive panhandlers (sometimes inflicting violence) everywhere. I've seen dead people laying on the sidewalk on more than one occasion. They tout the Interurban as this cool, urban, walkable property. When in truth it's off the beaten path and very gritty and outright dangerous. Nothing is happening around there when the business folks leave at 5pm. My car was broken into twice in three years. Interurban places the blame on Platinum Parking and vice versa yet neither springs for security personnel or security cameras. I bought a house near White Rock Lake so I gave my required 60 day notice to vacate. Contractually, I was obligated to pay for the remainder of the lease which I did. I physically moved out 6+ weeks before my lease. They sent me a notice that I owe an additional $274 for utilities when I didn't physically live there. Just don't waste your time on this property. You will indelibly regret it. read more

I came in today asking for assistance about how to get the Blink Tattoo because Yelp stayed his suite was in the building and the gentlemen at the front desk was extremely rude. He was having a personal conversation with a woman named Courtney and I stood there for a good 5 minutes waiting and then when I spoke, he put his hand up for me to stop talking and continued to ignore me. I lived here for the past year, and I have nothing negative to say about the property! Manager Morgan & leasing manager David we're always so nice to me! And the maintenance guys were always so friendly, and very fast too! They would always come the day of my service request to fix whatever it was. It was always a quite building, I was on the side where my windows faced the pool and I never had issues with loud ppl/music or even loud neighbors. The building is very secure. Hard to get in the building if you don't live there. I'm a women in my 20s & I lived alone here and I never felt unsafe. Yes, you are downtown. So there will be strange people and homeless people walking around outside at all hours. I loved this building, I honestly would still be there if I hadn't gotten a dog. It's just sadly not dog friendly, but downtown Dallas apartments really just aren't. (Ps. I see a lot of reviews talking about the garage.) The parking garage is NOT owned by the apartments, so they can't do anything about things happening in the garage. Security has gotten better since I've lived there. A 24hr security guard at both the entrance & exit. No cameras in the garage and it's unfortunately $100 a month to park there and you really have no other choice if you live there :/ But over all I loved living here and I recommend it to anyone wanting to move downtown to a cool, unique, vintage, New Yorky feeling loft / studio! read more

I am a current resident. Do not live here if you have a pet. The latest is that pets are not allowed in garage. Unless you carry them. Insane. Not in lease. The attitude of the leasing agent Morgan is atrocious. Very rude. Oh and i've had a maintenance request in since 2017 that is still not completed. InterUrban is like that beautiful, sexy, amazing girl you meet that you think "this is the one... Dad will LOVE her!" Then 2 weeks later you find out she has more baggage than the lost luggage closet at the airport. This girl is bona-fide crazy, all over the board and you can't get rid of her. You have dates set up months in advance and all you want to do is run away and hide. That's InterUrban Building. The lofts are great but management is... different. In my year living there I went through three different management companies and three sets of people. They'd lose your electric bill, try to stick you with another, they increased parking from $75 to $90 for one spot for a constantly broken garage, etc. etc. You get the idea. Did I give it a shot? Yes. Was it beautiful inside and out? Yes. Was it downtown living in a part of the country largely void of that? Yes. Maybe it just wasn't for me. Oh Interurban, the lost middle child of the hip downtown living complex. You aren't cool enough to be part of the rich kid's club. You aren't low income enough to be a downtrodden low rent joint. You are somewhere right in the middle. But you know what, little guy? That is al-right! You are just fine, just the way you are. You have a really nice management team now with Greystar. And no, they aren't perfect at all. But most of the time, they try to be good enough to keep everyone happy. And no, you don't have a fancy rooftop pool, but by golly, you've got a nice new finish out. And the pool is clean, and most of the time, the hot tub is warm. And ya know what, I like you just fine. In just four years, you'll be a 100 years old. And as far as I'm concerned, that makes you a winner to me. :) read more

Everyone on staff is AMAZING David & Tamika are wonderful and always super helpful and available to residents and Phillip and Des are incredible with the maintenance...always quick response and go out of their way to help you. This building is badass have lived in several units each one unique and cool in its own way. I have been very happy with my experience at Interurban. It's easy access to EVERYTHING uptown, downtown. Incredible restaurants in this neighborhood, great nightlife a couple of miles away in uptown and off Knox /Henderson. My parking was free for 6 months and I got 3 months free when I moved in. I have met the owners of the building and they are great. Everyone is very easygoing and friendly. The apartment itself is way cool. Exposed brick and large windows. My electric bill for 2 months was only $23.00!!!! NO KIDDING. There is no real noise factor (I lived in NYC, though). The only gripe I have is that there isn't more life downtown. But if you have a car, you're totally fine. Take a look at Interurban and judge for yourself. Don't just take my word for it...or someone else's bad experience, for that matter. read more

Chanda, I really do appreciate the empathy and you notifying security to be on alert. But what would really help more is the owners taking some preventative measures now that they are on notice of just how easy it is for burglars to steal from tenants in those storage cages. Something more than a phone call to a security service. The storage cage lock enclosure was snapped. Consider using stronger lock enclosures. A welder and a trip to the hardware store could sort that out in a day or so. Or, add fob or key access to the rooms in which the cage storage lockers are kept. read more

Moving to Dallas, Interurban was the first location I started researching when finding an apartment downtown. Visually, Interurban is one of the most unique and interesting apartment options in Dallas. For those interested in a smaller loft style apartment with different characteristics per unit, should look no further. Interurban is just that. I completely disagree with what other reviews have mentioned regarding the management at Interurban. During my time at these apartments, David and Lashanda, the community managers, as of August 2015, do a great job at making their residents feel welcome and comfortable. My job relocated me to Austin, TX and while I am upset to be leaving Dallas, I am more upset to not be living at Interurban anymore. With that being said, Whenever I do move back to Dallas I will be moving back to Interurban! read more

I've been a resident of the Interurban Building for 3 years - I love it there. It's a great community, the neighbors are all very respectful to one another. New ownership and management just stepped in within the last couple months and it has been a smooth transition. New management is Awesome! LaShanda is great and never misses a beat. The few maintenance issues I've had have been handled right away. Management and maintenance follow up to make sure I'm happy with everything. I really appreciate that! The location is great - feels a bit sketchy with the abandoned spaces on the first floor - a lot of homeless hang close by at the library. But, well placed off the congested tracks of Elm, Main and Commerce, but still close enough to walk there anytime. The only reason(s) I give 4 out of 5 stars is because I'm not totally happy about the billing - seems like there are little fees and increases slipped in and I'm paying $100 more a month to live there than when I moved in, tho my rent increase has been less than $50/mo the entire time.... Also - the downstairs call box has been out of service for a few months now, and this is very inconvenient for visitors or deliveries...they are upgrading this system, so will eventually be better, but an inconvenience for now. Over all - I totally recommend Interurban Building. If's the best deal for downtown living, for sure. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL BUILDING MANAGER- Ana Favila, the building manager, made it clear that this was not the place for me thanks to her attitude. She was was rude and very nonchalant when I told her that I had a hard time figuring out where to park, would I have to pay for parking etc. Which entry way should I use? THESE ARE THINGS TO COVER WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A GUEST AT YOUR PROPERTY. Once a resident let me in and took me to the office, I shared my concerns and she told me that no one has ever said they had problems getting to their office or parking etc.Then she sarcastically said 'maybe you have some suggestions on what we need to do differenty'. It wasn't genuine, it was a way of blowing me off in other words. As a manager, you should already know better in my opinion! The next issue I had with this property is the fact that the appt was scheduled for me earlier in the week by a locator and Ana said she hadn't heard my name, was not told that I was coming in, didn't have any idea of what I wanted to look at.. nothing.. THEN when another person walked into the office she greeted them and started talking to me as if nothing I was saying before she cut me off even mattered. Once the lady who was helping them out for the day, Felicia, walked in, Ana handed me off to Felicia who was very new to the property as well. Felicia was courteous which is more than I can say for Ana. Ana didn't seem to care one way or the other about my being satisfied or having any negative first impressions. In fact, she didn't acknowledge me after Felicia walked me back to the office from viewing an apartment. She acted like I didn't matter. My thinking is, if you're treating me like this and I'm not even a resident, what might happen after I sign my lease. Ana is very unprofessional to say the least. I will not recommend this property to anyone for that reason alone. One would think that a courtesy followup phone call from management would follow an experience like this... think again.. not a single phone call. read more

Thought I would update my review now as a post-resident: still wish I had never moved in. Noise was awful, and I am not even referring to the outside noise on weekend nights - that I can deal with. The neighbors enjoy blasting music throughout the day, especially on weekends, and the walls are thin enough that I can hardly hear my TV. I told management when I moved in about a broken drawer, and then again a week later, it was never fixed. Maintenance would get things done, but it could take a week which meant putting my dog up every day just in case they came in addition to not having lighting in the kitchen. This would not have been an issue if things hadn't started breaking down during the year I lived there - every light went out at least once (track lighting in the kitchen went out twice) including the oven light (they left a note saying they wouldn't fix that). Water heater went out - they "fixed" it several times and it kept going out, pretty sure it's broken and needs more than a reset. Parking garage is the absolute worst, especially since you are paying so much for that filth. On the way to my car I would have to dodge discarded and run over fast food meals which I am sure contribute to the smell (I know management can only do so much about this but really, do you want to live around people that do that?). Gate always broken. Gym is like a dungeon with bad machines. They might tell you the pool gets light - it might for an hour max but I never saw sun down there. The common area is re-done and pretty cute, but I never saw anyone down there. I am still giving two stars because: 1- I got my full deposit and pet deposit back, which shocked me because I was sure they would find some way to get out of that. Another review site had a lot of people saying they didn't get theirs, so I do want to make sure and say that at least someone did. 2- The dog community around there is pretty good for downtown. There is a grass area around the corner when you need to be quick, and everyone is very friendly. The main street garden is about two blocks down and there is always a security guard there and he knows everyone, has treats for the dogs - very comforting to have that as a single girl walking around near dark. Anyway - if asked I don't think I could ever suggest this place to someone. The people I spoke to at the main street park seemed happier in other apartments in the area, for example elm street may seem more expensive but you don't have to pay for parking so I think that place is a much better choice. Bummed to say it when I think back to how excited I was for IB, but it is a terrible memory. read more

Large floor plans.. comfortable apts.. and great amenities for downtown. Haven't had any problems. And love the renovated old building which is RARE in Dallas! Havent had any safety issues.. which I was worried abt. At first. But Parking is a little sketch with it being a public garage and the gate is broken a lot.. but only complaint so far. read more

I had a very bad experience with Interurban's management. I paid $400 for an application fee and was told my unit would be reserved for up to 2 weeks until my background check was completed by my employer. The background check took longer than a week and I lost the unit I reserved which I understood could happen. What is disturbing to me is that, instead of applying my $400 payment towards another unit, the property management people told me that I needed to pay another $400 to reapply for another unit!!!! I have never heard of such a policy and other apartment buildings I looked into don't have such a policy. When I advised the person I was speaking to that I was inclined to go elsewhere for a unit, the Interurban representative didn't seem to care. This is a very unethical property management policy. I have lived here for almost a year. At first glace, I was OBSESSED. It has the downtown loft feel with the exposed brick walls and updated appliances. WRONG. The building is old. So it smells, and has leaky pipes. I have had two leaks in the past 6 months... Leaks from above that flooded my bedding and mattress. It was horrible. I also had my smoke alarm break. It made a horrible beeping noise. When I called the on call maintenance number the maintenance guy informed me that after talking to management this was not an emergency because they "did not want to pay his overtime to come out and fix it". The building stinks! It actually smells horrible. Its an ancient building. It smells like mold in the walls and when I called to complain about it they said they would send someone out... they never did. The hallways always smell like weed. My neighbor was a drug dealer.. His drug of choice... Cocaine. I informed the office about random sketchy people coming and going at odd hours of the day... Nothing happened. The building is on a good street but a block behind the building is a VERY dangerous area of town. All of the homeless shelters downtown are a street over. As a single female, I always felt alarmed at night. New management came in and they are even worse. They changed the fob system and left notes saying it wouldn't turn off until Monday. It was turned off the Friday before.. So when I mentioned it was a sketchy area of town. Imagine being locked out of your building in a sketchy area of town late at night. When I called the office (during office hours) and left 5 messages (during office hours) .. none of which were returned. I was locked out and no one was in the office during REGULAR OFFICE HOURS. With no note saying they were touring and would be back.. NOTHING. I had to wait outside and follow people into my own building. When I go to complain during the day, they don't care. Feed me some lines about how they were there and I was lying. It is never their fault. For anything. Also, TONS OF HIDDEN FEES!!! Add 30 for valet trash 200+ electricity and water during winter months. 75+ for monthly parking in a garage that is never working. Trust me you won't be saving money living here. You would rather live in a better area. read more

Going on my 3rd year here and must admit the first 1.5 was not good- not that management was bad. Dealing homeless , neighbors etc.. Since new owners have taken over -its been amazing. New kitchen ad bathrooms , repairs are swift and management are spot on and do a great job.. Downtown is expensive and you get a good deal here!! read more

The InterUrban Property is amazing. The management team is very knowledgeable and considerate, as they are always willing to make time for you, despite already accommodating their current workload. LaShanda and David hold themselves very professionaly and it reflects greatly on the prestige of the property. The property itself is one of a kind. The historic look and feel really gives the building a ton of character, while maintaining a modern flare. It's currently in the works for quite a bit of renovations, so the property can only continue to get better. I would definitely recommend living here. read more
