The accupuncturist is pleasant enough, but given that I left in more pain than what I had going in, that's not a good sign. Yes, he inflicted more pain than he eliminated. He was drawing blood with his needles, and I got uncomfortable burns from the cupping that lasted about 5 days. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

I was trying not to write this review but this business cannot get its act together. Jonathon is good with needle placement but awful with any type of conflict or questioning of how his practice works. Around 3 or 4 months ago I went for my first "intake appointment". I can no longer find the information on their website. At the time it was clearly stated that an intake appointment was longer and more expensive than follow up appointments. I carefully filled out all the paperwork on-line, expecting to have a true intake. When I got there, Jonathon had not, did not, look at any of the forms I filled out. I started talking about the issues I was having. He cut me off fairly quickly and had me get on the table to start inserting needles. I asked if he had a towel to put under my head because my neck was bothering me. NO towel but found something that turned out to be too high. He left me with a beeper in my hand in case I experienced any problems. My neck pain intensified because whatever was put under my neck was too high. I pushed the beeper. No one came. I waited at least 5 minutes then pressed the beeper again. Still no response. I had needles in my hands, arms, and feet so virtually no mobility. I did manage to shimmy my body so my head came off of the thing underneath but I ended up in an awkward position on the table. Far from optimal while receiving a treatment. I'm pretty sure I pressed the beeper at least one more time for a total of 3. No one came. When Jonathan did finally return to the room I told him I had pressed the beeper 3 times with no response. He apologized. When he saw the position I was in, he acknowledged it didn't look good. And while I was having these issues with the head and the beeper, decided to ask Jonathan about the intake, or lack there of. I told him I was confused about the intake. I didn't feel that we had one. He asked "did I feel bette?" The answer was yes, but feeling stranded took away from the appointment and I pressed about the intake. Asking why this appointment was more money when the whole appointment lasted less than an hour, and I didn't feel there was an intake. He got defensive and said he would charge me the price of a regular appointment. I was satisfied and went on my way, hesitant to return to this person and practice. Several months later I decided to give him another try. As I said, I believe he's good with needle placement. I scheduled the appointment on the phone. No problem or issue mentioned on either side. I drove to the appointment. Was there on time. Was brought back to a room where I waited about 15 minutes. Jonathan walked in and said "I never expected to see you again. There's another acupuncturist who he thinks would be better suited to me. I can reschedule with that person for another time and day." He refused to treat me. I tried to discuss the matter with him. I was in complete shock. He wouldn't budge. On the way out I went ahead and rescheduled with the other person. By the time I got home I was so upset that I knew I could not go back to that practice and was planning to call and cancel the appointment. Before I had a chance, I got a call from the office saying I could get the appointment with the other person moved up to the next day. I let that person know how upset I was and that not only did I not want to move up the appointment, I wanted it canceled. In my mind I was very clear and mentioned I might be writing a negative review. Then the receptionist had Jonathan get on the phone with me. We got no where other than him telling me he does not feel good treating people who are not happy with his treatments. And he directly contradicted things said by his receptionist earlier. I said I was open to talking with this other acupuncturist on the phone but thought I was clear that I was canceling the appointment I had made. I did have a phone call with the other acupuncturist. He seems to be a decent guy and I told him I would see him if he were somewhere other than the same office. He told me he understood and if I changed my mind, I'm free to make an appointment. I believe we were both clear that I was not keeping any appointment that was previously made by me. The appointment was scheduled for tomorrow. An hour ago I got a reminder e-mail about my appointment for tomorrow. Less time than cancellation policy calls for. I called them immediately to say I had cancelled this appointment last week. The receptionist says but I thought we left things that you had this appointment. The appointment is now cancelled. This has been a VERY upsetting experience for me. I was trying to walk away from it and let it go. BUT having to talk to people at that office again stirred up all my emotions, thus this very long review about Jonathan and Intuitive Acupuncture. If you do decide to go to this office, don't complain about anything or make any waves or you too may be barred. read more

After many uncomfortable pokes and bruises and blood, I still felt this place provided a service. I needed healing and help, and I thought it was normal. I went for a year, as a Vet, it used to be vet friendly, but now they changed their prices and customer service at the front desk was quite toxic and unprofessional. After many uncomfortable dictations from people there... I was not impressed with the character I saw and felt. One person was cool. Both acupuncturist at this location hurt me though... Each needle was painful, and some sharp. I totally thought it was natural and accepted the pain. However, after I fired Intuitive Acupuncture, I easily replaced them, I recently found an actual Chineese Acupuncturist, wow, what a difference, the needles felt like the wind dancing across the skin, she was so gentle. I did not feel the needle go in except 1 out 30 needles... (that is impressive). Whereas here all but maybe one did not include pain. It is like they push too hard, and I also always felt rushed at this place, like hurry up and get out vibe. Not cool. Not vet friendly. No recommendation from me..... I don't take kindly to rudeness in any form.... they crossed the line and glad for it. I found a way better service elsewhere. lol. read more

I am blown away by how effective my treatment was for eliminating my first trimester nausea! Jonathan, thank you so much, I am incredibly relieved to not be continuously nauseous anymore. I had tried everything my OB/GYN had suggested (eating frequently, avoiding certain foods, medication, supplements, etc) with no results. I tried acupuncture out of desperation and it relieved the nausea during the session! I saw Jonathan years ago and he COMPLETELY cured my plantar fasciitis! It was so painful waking up and placing those first few steps on the floor in the morning. I read a Yelp review that he helped someone else cure their plantar fasciitis, so I figured I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did! Wow! Between Jonathan and Galen, acupuncture does wonders! A little back story: A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with a meniscus tear in my knee and both golfer's and tennis elbow. The meniscus tear was so severe that I had to have surgery to repair it, and the pain in my elbow was so bad that I had to get multiple cortisone shots. The first shot lasted about six months, and the second one lasted eight months. My elbow started hurting again and I decided against getting more cortisone shots because I needed a long term solution, not a quick fix. So, I dealt with the pain and limited the use of my elbow while I searched for another solution. A few weeks later (and just over a year after my meniscus surgery) I tore my meniscus, again, and the doctor told me that I needed surgery, again. So, I reluctantly set a surgery date. For some people this wouldn't be a life changing issue, but I am fairly active and I especially love playing softball! I've played for 27 years and it would be heartbreaking if I couldn't play - it's a big part of who I am. My doctor told me to quit softball, but of course I couldn't. I decided to modify instead and get a runner to run the bases, and just hit and play the field. It was a compromise I made in order to keep playing. A few weeks after I set the surgery date I was talking to a friend at the gym and she suggested I try acupuncture, and referred me to Intuitive Acupuncture. I had honestly never given it a thought because I hate needles and I pass out when I get shots, so the thought of getting multiple needles in me in one sitting was not appealing whatsoever. But, if it could help me with my pain and possibly prevent another surgery, I figured why not try it! Plus, if that meant I could keep playing softball and keep my quality of life, I would be so much happier. This brings me to the present. I have been going to Intuitive Acupuncture for six weeks now and the results have been beyond what I could have ever hoped for. My elbow is almost completely pain free. My meniscus tear doesn't get caught all the time anymore. My body is healing great! I am extremely happy with the results thus far and I even cancelled my knee surgery appointment! And, believe it or not, I ran the bases the last five games I've played! The level of care I receive here is outstanding. Everyone is so patient with me and my sensitivity to needles. Jake is always on top of things, he's very informational, and can always put you in a great mood. I was definitely one of those skeptical people about acupuncture but now if you know me, I encourage acupuncture to everyone! If they have a pain I say, "Acupuncture! Dude, it works!" Intuitive Acupuncture is amazing! I woke up on a weekend with severe sciatic and calf pain on my left side. I tried another acupuncture therapist before seeing Jonathon at Intuitive Acupuncture with little to no effect on my pain level. Needless to say I was skeptical of Acupuncture in general as a treatment. After reading some of the reviews about Intuitive Acupuncture and the success of others with sciatic pain I thought I would give it a try too. I went to see Jonathon and after the first session my pain was reduced from a 7-8/10 to a 5-6/10. After the second session it was further reduced to a 3-4/10 and after my third session my pain was reduced yet again. Now the pain is nearly gone only two weeks after the onset of the of the sciatic issue. The treatment I received also helped to dramatically reduce my calf pain through acupuncture and cupping. I sought out Jonathan at Intuitive Acupunture to help me with a stiff and painful neck and shoulder. My neck side-bending and rotation was limited and painful when moving to my right. I have been dealing with chronic pain for years, and I have tried almost everything to get the pain to subside. I did quite a bit of reading about acupuncture and decided to give it a try, though I was a little skeptical, and honestly, do not like needles. In my very first meeting with Jonathan, he immediately made me feel comfortable and put my mind at ease. He listens to the problems I am having, and seeks out feedback as to what has helped my pain and what didn't seem to make a difference. It is clear that he has a passion for what he does and wants to help everyone live their best, most comfortable life, while not refraining from activities that are enjoyable. Rather, he provides tools to help alleviate pain. He also tries different needling based on the pain or discomfort I am feeling when I come in for my appointments. He also does cupping and gua sha, which helps alleviate my chronic pain from work, as well as the pain that comes from my workouts - I am pretty tough on my body, and tend to push myself through the pain, which takes a toll on me. Pairing these different therapies with needling helps my body recover, and helps to get rid of my pain for a decent amount of time. I highly recommend intuitive acupuncture. My visits with Jonathan improved my health and state of well being. I got in a surfing accident and threw out my back. I had seen a doctor, gotten X-Rays, was taking Tylenol for pain relief, using a heating pad, doing stretches... but my back never seemed to get better. Jonathan was awesome. My body definitely tensed up because of the needles and Jonathan had to remind me to relax starting with my head, next my neck, then my shoulders, and all the way down to my toes. I had a couple of visits with Jonathan and I will say that my body responded much better the second session. After that visit I swear my ailment melted away. His practice of acupuncture is magical! Went in for severe knee pain from old (and more recent) injuries. I was desperate for relief, but wanted to avoid narcotics and had this failed, I would have had to use them. Jonathan helped me heal from a rotator cuff injury through acupunture. The pain I was experiencing from the injury was immense and my left shoulder was pretty much immobile. The process was much quicker than anticipated and I could feel results right away, with pain dissipating with each session. When I started physical therapy for the shoulder injury, the acupuncture coupled with the physical therapy had me back to almost normal in a fairly quick amount of time. Be aware that this facility uses only straight acupuncture and not tens (electricity), cups, etc. It can make a huge difference in the results. I took my husband there because they claim to be specialized in pain, but the session was less than satisfactory, and there was no effect on pain. When we went to a different place, where he was given tens + cups, he felt so good afterward, and the pain did not return until the next day, and milder. Each treatment helps him to improve. Also Intuitive Acupuncture made us pay $120 for the session even though we have insurance. The other place deals with insurance, and we never pay anything. As a physical therapist with a Western medicine background I was skeptical about acupuncture. However, after trying to for months to treat my forearm strain myself, with poor results, I decided to give it a try. After the first session, my forearm was significantly better. Jonathan is a wonderful, kind, and caring man who makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet him. While traveling on rotations for med school, I found Jonathan online and consider myself one of the lucky ones. Due to my busy schedule and travel in and out of the area, Jonathan has gone out of his way to make our sessions possible. After three surgeries from rugby, my neck is in constant pain, which is only exacerbated from studying with my head down. Jonathan is extremely knowledgable about body mechanics and is willing to try what works for you.
