I had a prenatal massage scheduled but unexpectedly went into labor the morning of my appointment. I called just a few hours after giving birth to let them know I couldn't make it, then spent the next 10 days calling four times to speak with the manager, only to receive an email reiterating the cancellation policy. I understand businesses need policies, but I was disappointed there was no effort to offer any reasonable accommodation--such as a future credit or discount--for a circumstance completely outside of my control. As a local customer, what disappointed me most wasn't the policy itself but the lack of compassion, communication, and customer service during such a significant life event. If you cater to late-term prenatal clients, it's worth considering a policy that recognizes spontaneous labor can happen. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business based on how this situation was handled. Update: While the manager is standing by their cancellation policy, they acknowledged that late-term prenatal appointments are a unique circumstance and shared that they're reconsidering whether a separate policy should exist for situations like unexpected labor. They offered me a $120 spa credit as a goodwill gesture (with the original cost of my charged prenatal massage service being $240) I appreciate that they took the time to listen, reflect on my feedback, and make an effort to address my concerns. While I still believe there is room for improvement in how these situations are handled and the offer to make it right, I'm grateful my experience may help create a more compassionate approach for future prenatal clients. read more

I really wish I could say that everything about this place is perfect. I did get a facial that was wonderful! My massage was scheduled for later that day, but we happen to be a witness to a very bad accident and so we stayed to need to help and call 911. Because of that, I missed my appointment. They were not willing to give me a credit or allow me to come some other day, and I lost the money for that massage. So that was disappointing. The other issue was that the staff of the masseurs and aestheticians are great. The front office staff, the ladies could be friendlier. She was very cold and rude, especially if you don't buy the products that they suggest. Very disappointed, and I drive up there from LA. Probably won't be making another trip. read more

I've been here with my friend and I loved the male massage therapist I had. He got rid of all of knots on my shoulder and he was so so thoughtful in removing my necklace so it's not a an uncomfortable process. It was in a really nice room with a shower and sink to get ready, so I loved where this massage/spa was situated. It's expensive, but....it does include access to the hot tub and pool. read more

The pressure was perfect, she found every single problem area with ease and i would have stayed for another 3 hours if that was an option. Noel gave me the most incredible lash lift and tint I have ever experienced, and she is without a doubt my go-to from now on. In the past, when I had a lift and tint done elsewhere, my eyes would get irritated, burn, and sometimes stay swollen for days. It became so uncomfortable that I stopped doing the tint altogether. While visiting SLO (29 weeks pregnant) I decided to try to book a last minute facial and massage. I was able to get in and had the best experience possible. They made me so comfortable, the table reclines and bends so that I didn't have to only stay on my side for the massage, and everything they did was pregnancy friendly. I was offered tea after both services and had access to the steam room and sauna (couldn't use) but also the outdoor pool!! That was SO nice with it being such a beautiful day. 10/10 experience and will 100% be booking services again next time I'm back in SLO. read more

My husband and I went for his bday. We love getting pampered! We are locals but went on a Saturday!! Tip for locals you get a 20% off deal Sunday-Friday. We both had EXCELLENT massages. We both said they were probably the best ever! The facility is just beautiful it's nice walking through the gorgeous hotel too. I loved the sauna especially, I wish I could have a pass to use the facilities cause I'd be in the sauna every day if I could. The salt rocks inside the sauna make it so relaxing, and the showers and amenities everywhere were just pristine. The lounge/waiting room was calming, the robes were so soft and cozy, and the yummy tea after was perfect. We also used the hotel pool and jacuzzi afterwards, next time we might stick around and try piadina. All in all beautiful, perfect experience and a great birthday treat. Can't wait to go back. I had scheduled a massage but unfortunately came down with the flu upon arriving at the hotel. I immediately called the spa to cancel and explained my situation, hoping they would waive the fee due to illness. However, I was told that per their policy, cancellations within 24 hours would still be charged the full treatment cost. While disappointed, I accepted the charge, assuming that was just the policy. What I didn't expect was to later see not only the full treatment charge on my credit card statement but also an added 20% gratuity for a service I never received. A tip for a canceled appointment? I called to request a refund for the gratuity, but the spa refused. My advice to anyone considering booking services here: proceed with caution. Im a local and went to Sol Spa for the first time today and it was absolutely lovely! I was relaxed from the moment I walked in and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend arriving 30 min early so you can enjoy the sauna and relaxation room before your service. I got the lymphatic drainage and reflexology facial with Corinna and it was AMAZING!! She was professional and so sweet. I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! This facial was perfect for me since I struggle with my sinuses...it totally opened them up and I noticed a difference! I also noticed my face was less puffy and smoothed out afterwards too. I loved the products they used as well. After my service Corinna got me a mug of hot tea and it was the perfect ending to it all! Would HIGHLY recommend Corinna and Sol Spa whether you're a local or visiting the area! "Walk through the hallway of the cacti" I was told to get to this spa and when you step in you are transported to a nice oasis. Sol Spa has great staff who are patient and thoughtful as well as experienced. I appreciated the offers to meditate, sit in the sauna, go to the pool or sit in their comfortable waiting area before and after my treatment. Decided last minute that I wanted to get a massage while I was in town last week and was able to get an appointment here and I'm so grateful I did!! As soon as you walk in the atmosphere is so relaxing. They walk you through everything and the front desk girl was super nice. This review is specifically for Noel and her amazing lash lift. I am an extremely nervous client who was expecting to be booked with the head esthetician. I made sure to express that when booking, I was offered other estheticians and specifically said I did not want anyone but the head esthetician... I even came on a day/time that was inconvenient to me to ensure it. So when I arrived to find Noel waiting for me, as the head esthetician was on vacation, I was very thrown off. I was probably not a pleasant customer with my voiced concerns and complaints but I wouldn't know because Noel handled it with nothing but grace and professionalism. Booked a girls trip with my friend who is pregnant and was so excited to see they have prenatal massages available! She was thrilled to lay face down and even caught herself falling asleep. I booked a facial and my esthetician tailored it to my skin and gave me a wonderful scalp and facial massage. Overall, beautiful spa that's up to date on the trends and products. However, I'm knocking down a star because the pool is shared with the hotel and there were a ton of kids being loud at the pool. It would be nice if there were quiet hours since many of us need an escape. Maybe next time I won't book during summer vacation. FYI- 20% gratuity is required for all services. My husband and I are on a babymoon type trip in the SLO/Pismo area this weekend and we wanted to get a Couple's massage. I'm so glad we picked Sol Spa! Their customer service was top notch, my husband enjoyed the sauna after, the robes are AMAZING, and they served us tea after the service. My prenatal massage was done by Holly and she was incredible. They have a bolster specifically for pregnant people to lay belly down which made her working on my hips and glues even more wonderful. When I flipped over she was able to adjust the table so it was always comfortable. Seriously how do I get one of those tables in my house?! Holly got in to tons of problem areas too and the massage was wonderful. My husbands signature massage by Danielle also left him feeling very relaxed. When I asked him he said "she was great" which I'm pretty sure is a rave review for him ;) He reported that she got into his tight IT bands and then got him so relaxed he fell asleep twice in the 90min session. I have been to nearly every spa in SLO, and this has by far been my favorite. Wonderful clean atmosphere, pool and hot tub access, saunas, showers, etc. Has everything you need for an excellent spa day (I find that the other local spas either have a nice pool area but poor massages, or great services but nowhere to unwind after your service). Sol Spa is the perfect mix of skilled therapists and a relaxing atmosphere to spend the day at. Carina did my facial (incredible knowledge and use of different modalities, very skilled with reflexology), and Camille was my massage therapist (the first massage therapist who actually has delivered the deep tissue pressure I desire). I was SO impressed by both women and and will certainly be back often, especially considering the locals discount. read more

If I could give no stars I would. My husband booked me a spa appointment over valentines weekend, we were driving from out of town, and had a tire. Blow out, I called to ask the spa if there was anything that could be done about my appointment, and she said there is no cancellations, as soon as we got off the phone I received an email and a charge for the services I did not receive. She did not even allow me to be late, and charged me for both. Did not offer any solutions. Poor customer service. Spa is beautiful. Was a great place to go with a few friends. Spent time in the sauna and small outdoor jacuzzi. Also loved the chic decor and vibe in the relaxation area. the line of products they use -Eminence, are wonderful- I use them at home now. It was really nice having lunch afterwards in the hotel restaurant, there is a cool loungey vibe there, fireplace and full bar. Food was also delicious. We all really liked our treatments. Only reason I'm knocking down one star is because the treatment room was too cool, especially when you're stripping down to your birthday suit. It was winter and the rooms were maybe 69 degrees. Even with the warming table turned up I was still cold and said so. Also both my sister's masseuse and my esthetician had really cold hands (sister commented on it too). They said "sorry I just washed my hands they're a little cold" and in my head I was thinking -well if you know they're cold then why don't you run them under some warm water for a minute? It's small details like this that really add or take away from the experience. I don't mean to nit pick but if you're cold during your massage or facial it's really hard to relax... and relaxing is the whole point. But I'll give them another chance, my skin was glowing afterwards and my sister and friends said their massages were otherwise really relaxing. Hopefully next time the rooms and masseuse's hands are warmer, lol. Also I was pleasantly surprised by the bill because I didn't know that the price for locals is discounted- I would have gotten another treatment if I knew before hand, another reason to go back! read more

I've only had one other who lives states away and I'm unable to see her for long periods. Camille definitely got to the spots that needed the attention and I left floating out. "ReEnter Life at a Better Pace in a Better Place" and I most definitely did! As I walked through the doors, I received warm greetings and smiles from GiGi the spa director and her kind staff. The tour of the amenities was lovely and I couldn't wait for my experience to unfold. After donning my oh so cozy robe, I returned to the waiting area to enjoy some hot tea served with the most delicious local Elderberry syrup. I'd hardly reclined, when Erika arrived to present a golden basin with various herbs, flowers, and salts to place my feet in. While pouring water over my toes, she checked in to make sure the temperature was perfect and that I felt comfortable. I already felt like a pampered princess! My treatment room was so inviting. I immediately fell in love with the air plant and am look forward to visiting the garden it came from in Morro Bay. Everything is so thoughtfully arranged, even the water carafe with bright yellow lemon slices and Rosemary sprigs. My massage with Jenny was everything I'd hoped it would be with the ideal balance of pressure melting into total relaxation. I was excited to spend some time in the pink Himalayan salt dry sauna with more yummy tea. It was just as magical as I'd imagined it would be. Progressing to the meditation room did not disappoint either. I couldn't resist snuggling with one of the cozy blankets draped over the zero gravity chairs. I truly felt transported, as the lights dimmed and the candles flickered on the wall. Before saying goodbye to one of the most amazingly relaxing days of 2020, I decided to soak up some sunshine by the pool and enjoy the view of this incredible property. 3 hours at Sol Spa was not nearly enough. Sol Spa was the perfect place to relax and unwind in the midst of a busy season. Their space is simply beautiful and just being there makes you feel in a state of zen. I started my experience with a salt sauna and a cool rinse in their showers with the most wonderful smelling products. I slid into the most comfortable robe and was invited to relax in their waiting area where I received a hot stone foot soak while sipping green tea. It was the perfect way to calm my mind before entering my massage. The massage room is light + airy and there was a pitcher of spa water with a glass placed in the room for me. My masseuse Jenny began and ended my session with a sound bowl which was incredibly soothing and healing. The massage itself was wonderful! I highly recommend requesting Jenny for your service. After my massage I rested in the meditation room in their zero gravity chairs. I could have stayed all day! As a spa guest you are invited to also use the pool at the hotel for the day, something I will definitely take advantage of in the future! They have truly thought of everything!
