This morning, my mom called me in a total panic because our sump pump had completely stopped working (darn redwood frawns!). I moved into a new home and wanted to make some changes to the yard. I got in touch with Oscar, and did everything I wanted and even made some suggestions for making the yard even better. He gave me a very reasonable quote which he honored, and we got it scheduled. A few days later, his team came out and worked their tails off for a solid week. The results are amazing. They installed a lawn where there used to be gravel, built a new gate to the side yard, installed transformers to run low-voltage nights automatically when it's dark, and redid a lot of the irrigation. Full Disclosure, I went with a different contractor, but it was only because of my budget. My experience meeting Oscar has prompted me to write a positive review for Intuitive Landscape Services. I verified that Oscar is licensed through the state with license number: 1030310. My impression of Oscar from the moment I interacted with him over e-mail, to the day he came out to the site to get started on an estimate, to the day he sent me the quote was that he is a professional. He gauged how he should talk to me by my experience and understanding of the work to be done. He was very direct with his observations, made recommendations to improve my plan, gave me some of his history and background, and options that I wasn't aware of. He took a lot of time to answer questions, and to make sure he understood what I wanted, and proposed other possibilities to see if my mind would change. Because Oscar's quote was a bit outside of my range, I've gone with somebody else, but I would recommend at least meeting with Oscar, and if his quote is within your budget, I suspect you'll be very happy with the results he could bring. read more

Oscar and his team did a phenomenal job with our front yard... it's absolutely beautiful! We cannot recommend his and his team enough! Oscar met with us early on to hear what we had in mind for the project and gave us great recommendations (how to stop the hillside erosion, how to creatively add boulders, which mulch to use, etc). He made us feel comfortable with the project and even offered options to help lower the project budget into our preferred range (which was refreshing for a business!). His team started quickly and finished quickly, but never sacrificed the quality of the work. His crew (shoutout to Chris!) were amazing at their craft and incredibly nice people too. Muneer picked out all the plants after listening to our ideas, getting a sense of our home decor/style, and checking out all our outside spaces. He nailed it! His vision was spot on and the final design was way better than anything that we had envisioned ourselves. The team also laid gopher wire, jute netting, mulch, and installed a full drip/irrigation system Oscar and his team also fixed a separate drainage problem we had on a different part of our house, which included cutting through concrete steps and re-piping the drainage/gutters; they repaired everything and re-poured the concrete steps as if nothing had ever happened. Again, they are amazing at their craft. Oscar stands behind his work, offering to come by and adjust the drip system if any plants are getting enough water or replacing plants that aren't doing well (within reason we're sure, but it's nice that he offered it up!). We got a recommendation from a friend who used Oscar and his team for a project last year after seeing the work they did on their yard. We had an absolutely amazing time working with Oscar and his crew at Intuitive Landscaping. Starting with a blank slate (I.E. mud pit of a backyard), Oscar met with us to discuss our ideas/goals and give his professional insights and suggestions that really brought the vision of our backyard's potential to the next level. Our experience working with Oscar and the guys at Intuitive Landscaping was simply THE BEST. Some contractors are good (but expensive), some contractors are a nightmare to communicate and work with - Oscar was neither. The process was enjoyable, the project was good value, and my wife and I are thrilled with the final results. Oscar's team remodeled our back yard, which hadn't been kept up in many many years. They added a French drain along the back and side of the house to help protect our foundation, built a patio, leveled a grass tier, built a beautiful dry stacked rock wall to retain the top level for gardening, and planted the fruit trees and California native plants we selected. Oscar's crew went above and beyond with some pro-bono extras to make our yard nicer and more functional, like adding more retaining walls we didn't know we needed and re-mulching and cleaning up our front yard too. I can't say enough about Oscar and his team - they truly upgraded our home and lifestyle. Before, our backyard had a junky cinder block raised bed and an expanse of random rocks, weeds, mulch/mud, and other inherited hazards to dogs/children. We found Intuitive on Yelp and got an easy estimate and hit the ground running on planning. Oscar was so personable and met us at the flagstone supply to discuss options - he really gave us great foundational advice and then let us have creative direction on the project. I would highly recommend Oscar and team and give them 10+ stars if I could. Extremely professional, great customer service and superb work ethic and expertise. We had a complex project that required drainage for our home which hadn't been touched since the original concrete laid in 1959. The side of the house was also compromised as we have a 2-level yard and pool with just 1 drain which was clogged and didn't go out to the street. The side of the house was gathering about 3 inches of water all along the side of the house. This was causing us serious problems and considering the recent rainstorms, we needed to get this taken care of asap. We were impressed with Oscar's consult and experience. They were courteous, professional, punctual, and proficient, and it didn't take long for us to be entirely confident in them. We had some tricky drainage issues in our backyard and back patio. Water was getting into our crawl space and puddling in a few areas. I had one of the large drainage companies give me a bid. The "basic" plan came in at $46,000. I contacted Oscar. He came up with a completely different approach, that actually works! And saved me $36,000. The crew led by Victor came and installed 3 drainage approaches; a French drain, a pipe for the surface drains, and a channel drain on top to catch surface water not flowing into the surface drains.
