Mason R. and I had bought a voucher to come to the Inverleith Hotel for a traditional afternoon tea for two. After making a lovely excursion of it, we enjoyed walking around the Botanical Gardens before making our way here. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in a really nice and quaint hotel overlooking the Botanical Gardens. The staff were friendly I and served us lots of coffee (or you could have had tea of course) and then brought out the stand of traditional tea sandwiches, scones, shortbread, and biscuits and other cookies on top. Although the sandwiches were most likely made here, the scones, shortbread, meringues, chocolate chip cookies, and creamy shortbread dessert bit were all store bought, which I was a bit disappointed about since the normal prices are £9.95 per person. We had a lovely time and appreciated the nice ambiance, food, and coffee, but I just expected a bit more in terms of nice, home-made scones and cookies. read more
