Janice went above and beyond to help me. When USAA contacted them for a tow for me I had no idea where to take my truck (I was well F'd and far from home). Luckily Inyo towing came to the rescue, Janice called around some shops after she found out my truck's symptoms. She was was able to get me to a shop that could take a look at my truck right away. My senior citizen mother was working with her auto insurance company to find an available company to change her flat. Inyo County towing was the only one. Maria stated they did not get the digital request from the auto insurance company so in going back and forth, Maria would hang up on my 78-year-old mother. Upon calling back no one would answer the phone at all and it went to voicemail. The auto insurance company was also not able to get in touch with them. Inyo County towing must be getting a good amount of business so that it can hang up on people and not respond. Do not recommend. read more

I have insurance for my travel-trailer with Progressive. I broke down north of Ridgecrest and Progressive only contracts with this towing company. They need to dump this company! First, the female dispatcher misread Progressive's invoice, to tow a "2014 Forest River R-Pod trailer". She put down a small car. I'm thinking, good thing I called ahead or the wrong tow truck would've arrived. No problem, moving along.... I also made clear, from the start, with Progressive and this towing company that I had a bad 'wheel bearing', never mentioned just a tire. I know a bit about auto mechanics, I've changed wheel-bearings before, and if it were just a tire, I had a spare. This lady tells a driver that I made a mistake earlier by saying it was a tire, but it's actually a wheel bearing. That was a lie (perhaps she told him I needed a tire change-out on a small car?)But okay, moving forward, I just need a tow! Turns out, Inyo County Towing refused to put my small trailer on their flatbed, fearing it would hit electrical lines, as their flatbed is already 4' off the ground. She had a driver on the phone wanting to know how tall is my rig. I stated 9 feet plus the AC. They just weren't sure(‍). They ended up claiming I needed a "lowboy trailer"(which they don't have)and 3 hours later from breaking down, I was on my own. The woman did call me back to recommend Sierra Towing, which was nice. I called them and a nice man brought out the same sized flatbed trailer, 4' high(no lowboy), worked hard to get my rig onto the flatbed, got me to my destination with no problem & cleared all electrical lines by a nice margin. He said he was surprised the other company didn't take it. He knew he wouldn't have a problem from the get-go. Now I just need to get reimbursed. read more

I was involved in a collision and my insurance company contracted with this company for the tow. From the begining it was a disaster and they never showed up to tow my vehicle. There was a disconnect between my actual location and where my insurance company told them my vehicle was. When the issue was corrected the service was delayed/cancelled because of safety concerns. All of this was okay and understandable until the dispatch lady called me back. She yelled at me because I "killed the PO". She was extremely unprofessional and rude. When I was given a chance to talk she hung up. Luckily my insurance company partnered with Pro Tow after learning of Inyo County Towing's poor customer service. Not only was Nick a pleasure to deal with, he was able to retrieve my vehicle in a timely manner without issue. read more

So I'm getting ready to head to an out-of-town doctor's appointment on Monday morning (8/5/2024) and my car battery is dead. I call my Roadside Assistance through Nationwide and they dispatch Inyo County Towing to give me a jump start. I'm copied on the JIRA text message from Nationwide to Inyo Towing and see that the service address is wrong. I immediately call Inyo Towing to let them know where the actual address is and the woman (who I now know is the owner) answers the phone. Before I can even finish my sentence about the address correction, she interrupted and said "how in the hell am I supposed to know who your insurance company is !!?". What? I explained that I wasn't confused about who my insurance carrier was, and that I was only trying to give her the right address so the driver wasn't wandering around needlessly. We went back & forth a couple of times with her interrupting and being as clueless and obstinate as ever, while I told her I was going to speak very slowwwly so she could understand to simply send the driver to the right address. BTW, the driver was AWESOME! He was friendly, knowledgeable and got my car back on the road. Too bad he works for a witch. I have NEVER had service like what Inyo County Towing just did. My brother needs a tow, and scheduled it through USAA. They picked Inyo County Towing. Inyo County Towing called him, and asked if he is related to a person who has the same last name as us. The person she asked about is someone we are related to by marriage, and have literally never even met. He explained this, and asked why, and she preceded to ignore his question and said "We're on the way." He then gets a text from USAA saying that his tow has been rescheduled with Theresa's Auto. So, this means Inyo cancelled our tow, I'm assuming because she thinks we're in cahoots with our "relative" who we've never met and have nothing to do with. I call Inyo County Towing and ask to speak to a manager. I ask why it was cancelled and she says that she cannot do business with abusive people. Excuse me? Abusive? She then perceives to tell me that my "relative" has been abusive to her and called her out on Facebook so she cannot do business with me. I'm sorry, but I have NEVER been abusive to anybody and am always respectful. This to me is very unprofessional to do to somebody just because we have the same last name. If they have a personal problem with someone with the last name Smith, are they going to turn down everyone with that last name in case they are related? I am offended and very upset about how I was treated by Inyo County Towing. read more

My Grandfather was in an awful car accident, and I thought this company had towed his car. Whelp I was wrong and the OWNER was very disrespectful towards me. Saying " I don't know why you're calling me" when I obviously thought his company was the one who towed my grandfathers vehicle, he also was being very short and laughing, he made my mother and I cry because we are shocked with how disrespectful he is being towards us. There is not a low enough rating for Inyo County Towing. This review is regarding the Lake Isabella location. The people there are rude, hostile, and threatened my fiance when we went to reclaim her car. The car was towed improperly and without her permission. She was not notified of this towing and I believe that the people at Inyo County Towing were preparing a lein sale instead of contacting my fiance. Not only this, but they tried to stick us with the alleged unpaid bill from the people who had the car improperly towed in the first place!! They also refused to release the car after we paid the bill in full and needed a sherif escort to even get the car released!! Please do yourself a favor- do not go to them for anything! You are better off pushing your car into the canyon than dealing with these people. read more

Last Saturday on our way down the canyon, our utility trailer had a blowout. Very scary with no phone service and the spare was the wrong size. I went back up the hill and was able to find a turnout with phone service. The gal that answered my call was so calming and helpful. She took all my info and said she would call me back. She did and said they were able to load us on to their flatbed for a ride to safety. Within 10 minutes John appeared coming down the hill and we were on our way in short order. Couldn't bring it down the hill that day so he took our trailer back to their yard. Locked it up tight, with their guard dogs on duty! Sunday afternoon, here they came to our door and dropped off our trailer. Thank you for your prompt service and being so friendly! read more

THE WORST PLACE EVER!!! They're office smells like dog crap and piss. They are the rudest people ever! Went there to look at the vehicle that killed my kids father and the owner yelled at us to move our truck and then I saw a door on the side of the building and he was an ass about me starting to go through that door " ITS EMPLOYEES ONLY! So I go around to a dog barking in our face going up there ramp and then when I get in there he has the nerve to tell me my business about what is going on with my husband and I marriage saying that ( OH YOU MUST BE THE SOON TO BE EX WIFE ) I was like are you kidding me?? That doesn't matter. What matters is my kids lost their dad. Then I took my son to go over and see the van standing on the outside of the fence he comes over and starts acting like a complete ass raising his voice at me telling me to get off his property and I said my son needs closure!!! We are NOT hurting anything by standing here. He pointed his dirty ass finger and yelled get off my property in calling the cops. They are very unprofessional and have no class whatsoever and they have no people skills. I hope that dispatch calls out other tow truck companies and not these people. They have no compassion or empathy especially for kids trying to deal with a death of their father. Here is a number to the Mojave CHP to make a complaint against them for the way they treat you. These folks are crooks. Steve, the towing company driver, picked up my (broken) Jeep in Lone Pine on a Sunday morning at 0930 to be delivered to a Jeep dealer in Bakersfield, to have mechanical repair performed. Upon arrival at the dealership in Bakersfield they determined that there were vagrants in the area and in their judgement it was unsafe to leave the vehicle at the dealership. (This is a dealership with many, many cars all over their property. Because it was a Sunday, the Service department was closed but the Sales department was open until 1800.) They did not, at any time contact me to advise me that there was, in their judgment, a problem leaving the vehicle. They subsequently towed the vehicle to their storage location in Ridgecrest/Invokern. A person who idetified herself as Angel, and the company owner, told me that they could not leave the vehicle in Bakersfield and had brought it back to their storage area and I would have to pay storage fee and a redelivery fee. read more

DO NOT USE, DO NOT GIVE BUSINESS. Contracted through Geico for a pick up for broken down motorcycle. When we called to confirm pickup and inquire as to an ETA, because we had an infant and two dogs on a family vacation, the dispatcher told us to stop calling (we had called twice before to confirm pickup, but the order from Geico hadn't come through), we were irresponsible for having a baby on a motorcycle (seriously? We were following my father in our truck), told us all about her life stressors and how she doesn't need more stress. She hung up after saying she cancelled the pick up. After we called Geico back, they called Inyo to confirm cancellation, and indicated a truck WAS en route. I had Geico cancel because I was so shocked by this lady's interaction. This review is for their Lake Isabella, CA office: Just had probably the worst experience I've had in dealing with any business, ever. This company towed a car that I own without my permission while towing a couple vehicles belonging to another person that were parked in the same yard. Apparently they never asked for any proof of ownership before towing my vehicle nor did they ask for any proof that the person asking them to remove it even owned the property that it was being towed from. To make things even "better" when I went to retrieve my car from their storage lot, instead of apologizing for their error or even behaving civilly, they demanded that I pay the total unpaid bill for all the vehicles that they towed from that property, none of which belonged to me. When I refused to pay for anything but my car things escalated very quickly. A woman whom I assume is one of the owners started screaming at me, got up from her desk and ran towards me yelling at me about the unpaid bill and threatening me. When I explained that I could leave their office and they would get nothing or I could pay for the vehicle that belonged to me she calmed herself enough to write out a bill for my car, which she demanded I pay in cash. To cut to the chase, in the end it took me paying an exorbitant amount of money and requesting a sheriffs escort to get my vehicle back. This business and the people running it are almost comically horrible. If my car broke down and they were the only people available to tow it, I would literally leave it where it was and walk to the next town before calling them. Thankfully they aren't the only game in town, so I don't think their business will last long here. read more

Inyo County Towing in Lake Isabella This company is pathetic! We broke down in our motorhome (26 ft. class c) while on vacation in Kernville. Good Sam sent this company to tow our stranded vehicle. Warren (apparently the owner) showed up and was not competent to tow our motorhome. He told us he needed a different tow truck that was not available until the following day to do the job. We were forced to pay for an additional night at the camp ground for our broke down motorhome and trusted the motorhome would be towed in the early morning (as per Warren). We received a call from our mechanic at 1:30 p.m. to ask if there was a problem because the motorhome had not made it to the repair shop and they had to work on other vehicles because he couldn't keep waiting on us. When the motorhome did arrive the tow truck driver just dropped it. Being concerned about the cost my husband confirmed with the mechanic that the driver did re-connect the drive shaft (standard procedure). The drive shaft was NEVER DISCONNECTED!!! When my husband called to ask what in the world the driver was thinking we were told it wasn't even Inyo County Towing that towed our vehicle! WHAT!?! Apparently Warren subcontracted the tow of our motorhome to a company that we had no knowledge of. The other company did contact us but have referred us back to Warren. We took the motorhome to Ford to run tests to make sure there was no damage caused by their incompetence. When we called Warren to ask to be reimbursed for the cost of a Ford mechanic who had to verify if damaged had been caused by the improper towing of our motorhome Warren hung up on my husband. When he called back one of Warren's employees said he had left for the day. Talk about unprofessional and classless. AVOID THIS COMPANY! read more

This company was dispatched via USAA Roadside Assistance for a jump. The service arrived quickly (earlier than ETA), called me to say he had arrived, was very polite and courteous to both myself and a neighbor that happened by, and left me with clear instructions on what I needed to do for the car when he left. While I don't doubt the veracity of the negative reviews here, it certainly was not my experience. The gentleman who helped me was very soft spoken, easy going, and clearly knew what he was doing. Its 245pm on December 23rd, 2015 and just past Red Mountain heading north on 395 the serpentine belt tensioner on my Tahoe fails. No belt, no steering, no cooling of engine! The owner of Inyo County Towing, Janice, speaks to me directly and says "Honey, we gotta get you to Ridgecrest before 5 pm or you will be stuck for the Christmas weekend!" Mind you, we were on the way to Mammoth and would have preferred skiing to the desert this one time! She sends her driver out ( Great guy, I just forgot his name) and we were flat-bedded to Ridgecrest by 4:15. Janice was willing to do whatever it took to help a couple of stranded complete strangers. She got us to a garage that at the last minute fixed my Tahoe and got us on the road from breakdown to rolling in 2.5 hours. I'll write about the great garage she got us to in the next review but for now I could not have met a better "Christmas Angel" than Janice and her crew.
