Greek Salad with gyro meat
Dee F.

Lovely decor and very comfortable seating. Friendly staff. The food was sooooo incredibly flavorFULL! FRESH ingredients. The Greek salad (one with gyro meat one with souvlaki) skipped the lettuce (great idea!) and was chockablock full of fresh ripe tomatoes, cucumber, green peppers (nice thinly sliced), olives, feta and protein of choice. Hummus was dreamy. Tsatziki was heavy on the cucumber flavor which was good. Calamari was fried with a light touch. The meat tray as an app was divine!

I didn't know or realize this was here until I was going to lunch with someone and they suggested this place. It's in the spot where "Fare" used to be, so I didn't realize it switched. But glad she suggested coming here as I got to try a new place in the neighborhood. Got there right before noon on a Monday, so had my pick for seating options. By the time we left, the places has filled up a bit more. The place has a clean, bright airy feel with lighting that would probably give a sleek, modern bar vibe. Our server was good - friendly, sweet demeanor, attentive. We ordered our own things, but kind of ended up sharing a couple of the items. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered the Hummus spread which came with pita and the Calamari with a ginger ale. My friend got the Chicken Platter and Spanakopita. We both didn't expect the platter to have as much food as it did for the lunch menu - it was a hefty serving! So I ended up eating some to help her out lol. Everything was pretty good taste wise and good portion sizes, as mentioned before. I would come here again to try some other options and see if they have a happy hour given the nice vibe of the bar area.

This is complicated. The server is sweet, and the restaurant is exceptionally clean. (When a couple left their booth, the server completely disinfected it.) The spanakopita was delicious, but that wasn't phyllo dough, and they definitely deep fried this treat. I asked the server if the rice was plain. She said yes. When it arrived, it was filled with broth and carrots, etc. The rice was also underdone. I ordered tea, and then had to wait until she came back so I could ask for sugar....(Usually, in other restaurants, servers automatically bring the sugar with the tea.) It's a great location and a great neighborhood. I don't want to give a bad review, but the food was what it was.

The chicken pita sandwich was very good. It had a nice sauce and was a decent size, so filling. The restaurant wasn't crowded in the afternoon but I was probably there between lunch and dinner. The place is near the Eastern State Penitentiary in Fairmount. The decor is modern and there is a beautiful bar. Would be curious to see what it's like at night.

Chicken Souvlaki with French Fries

My friends and I were looking for food late on a Friday night. We walked in and asked when their kitchen closed and the guy said technically 10pm but told us to sit down anyways, and that it wasn't a problem. We got the halloumi, spanakopita, octopus, calamari, and a chicken souvlaki platter. Everything was amazing, but the halloumi and octopus definitely stood out. After we ordered I fooled it and realized the restaurant actually closed at 10pm, not just the kitchen, and I was shocked they let us in + that the place was still busy with people eating and chatting! We never felt rushed and the meal and vibes were perfect. Highly recommend

Ios has been on my radar since completing its renovation. Last night, I finally got to check them out with a friend and I have to say that I'm hooked. Being tucked right in the middle of Fairmount, I love that Ios is conveniently located next to many walkable spots nearby, including Eastern State Penitentiary, Fairmount Flavors, and many boutique shops and bars where you can continue your journey after your dining affairs. As for the restaurant itself, there are ample seating options to choose from, both inside and outside of the jawn. The interior decor is warm, classy and inviting, which makes it a great place for a get-together with friends and dates alike. Upon entering, we were promptly assisted in finding our table. We opted for the bar seating as the restaurant was pretty popping with people last night. Our lovely waitress/hostess didn't take long to tend to us, and she's attentive at making sure we had our orders taken and that our drinks were refilled periodically. For food, we ordered grilled octopus, truffle fries, and beef and lamb gyro platter. Everything was delectable, and we both especially loved the truffle fries. The beef and lamb platter was served in a big tray filled with delicious assemble-it-yourself style gyro parts, and I loved every bite of it. I didn't get to try the grilled octopus, but my friend loved it. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and I'd love to go there again soon.

We came here for dessert, drinks and their live music (bouzoukia). We ordered the portokalopita and ekmek kataifi which were both amazing! The servers were super nice and we danced all night!!

LOVE this Greek place! Been a regular here as well live so close to it; very hard to resist. We love the food, the variety of items, very fresh ingredients, relaxed but upscale atmosphere, and very friendly service. This place is a must to visit!

Calamari, kafteri-spicy feta dip, and the iOS chips

What a nice time. It is truly gorgeous in here the decor is . Got some appetizers with my friend who was eating healthy-ish (booo) but still was delicious. We shared the spicy feta dish, calamari (E wish I got the grilled instead it looks phenomenal), and the iOS chips (zucchini chips). They make a strong drink as well and our server was really sweet. I've gotta make it back for dinner and get some grilled meats asap.

Ios Restobar, located at 2028 Fairmount Ave in Philadelphia, offers a delightful Greek dining experience in the heart of the Fairmount and Art Museum districts. Management decided to close down their restaurant by the name of Fare. They revamped the interior and the menu to focus on serving modern Greek cuisine. The menu features a variety of Greek dishes, including chicken souvlaki, politiki salad (so very delicious!), tiri saganaki, lemon potatoes, Greek fries with feta, gyro, and grilled octopus, all prepared to perfection. A menu favorite that they kept when this restaurant was called Fare are the hand cut truffle fries with chipotle aioli 10/10! Patrons would have been upset if they didn't bring this menu item to their new concept restobar. For those seeking a modern Greek culinary experience in Philadelphia, Ios Restobar is a must-visit destination.

Chicken gyro platter

As a first timer at Ios Restobar, I am VERY impressed. The portions are large, the service is friendly, and the bar is stunning. My table ordered the hummus, chicken gyro platter, spanakopita, and fried calamari... all were a hit! It was also very affordable- all previously mentioned and two sodas ran me $69. I will definitely be back again.

Street parking can be challenging. After 6pm loading zone areas by the hardware store are good. Pork souvlaki, Gyro, and octopus were all suitablbly grilled and had color. Salad and hummus apps were all good. Pita was soft and fresh. Added to my list for Greek-Mediterranean.

This was my first time actually trying it and it definitely lived up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. My wrap had chicken, hummus, lettuce, and feta, and it was so delicious. My chicken was very good, very tender and seasoned well. It also had a great creamy hummus to tie all the other ingredients together. The feta added just enough saltiness to balance out the rest of the flavors. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and my wrap was extremely soft, yet still maintained its form completely as I ate. I also ordered a Nutella hot chocolate. It was delicious! It was my fist time having a Nutella hot Chocolate. I usually just get a normal hot chocolate. The pita chips served as an additional side item with this sandwich and proved to be quite enjoyable. The pita chips had a good crunch and were able to pair with the wrap very well. I ended up eating all of the pita chips! It was a great lunch and I enjoyed my wrap! I would likely order from Café Square One again in the future, especially, if that wrap is still on their menu!

The strawberry French toast is topped with roasted strawberries, cream cheese icing, and sliced almonds. It was super filling with generous portions and just the right balance of sweetness. 2. The crab omelet with grilled onions, local mushrooms, and béarnaise sauce. A unique combination that oddly worked really well together. 3. It was much better than their root vegetable soup, and I was quite fond of that soup. It's honestly nothing like anything else on the menu. It has an indian? maybe? taste to it. It's so good. there is these juicy white raisins inside, some sliced almonds (not treenut friendly), and some sort of white yogurt sauce with micro greens. really a fantastic flavor pallet and the actual soup texture is smooth minus the toppings. Cashew Hummus: okay so here's my thing. I find that this restaurant in particular does such a disservice with their menu item descriptions. Based off of the description of this dish, I would think it's probably decent at best, and might not even order it. luckily I had a sixth sense to know this would be amazing. it's truly so good. it's a hummus layer topped with a bunch of seasoned roasted vegetables and chickpeas. The flavors are great and the textures are also great. I wouldn't have known it was cashew hummus if you didn't tell me. it's honestly not that large, so if you really like vegtables and hummus i'd get your own or split with only one person. if everyone is demure, it could go four ways. also! I don't think it comes with bread. it didn't come with bread this recent visit, but I am not sure if that was a mistake or that's how it is. But, to be safe, i'd save your bread you get at the begining to use for this. this is a must get every time I go. Dandelion salad: I only order this for my welsh rarebit. I like to eat my welsh rarebit with some of the salad since the acid cuts the fatty cheese. but, I will say, it's a very good salad. my favorite part is the thinly sliced celery pieces. it has a bunch of varying greens, celery, avocado, cucumber. all dressed in a lemony dressing. it's very simplistic and that's why I think it's so good. it's quite large, and would be a great "for the table" order so that everyone has some fresh bites with their rich entrees. Welsh Rarebit: my favorite. if you don't know what welsh rarebit is, it's basically fancy cheese toast. think proper fondue cheese with Worcestershire, mustard, maybe guinness, melted on a thick piece of toast. so an open faced fancy grilled cheese. it's two big slices of toast. could easily be shared for the table but I prefer my own order. if you get this I recommend also getting the dandelion salad and eating them together. Chocolate Set: I haven't tried their other desserts, but I just know they are a waste of time compared to this. the chocolate set is a dense chocolate mousse with earl gray ice cream, chocolate nibs, and a few orange slices. it's so simple but so so good. texturally, amazing. the smoothness of the mousse with the crunchy nibs is the perfect contrast. the orange is bright, the ice cream is just great on its own and does so well paired with everything else. it can be shared 4 ways if you have demure people. my family of four just orders two and we get half each. that works for us, we would never be able to share one. all in all great service as always, great food, and obviously a gorgeous interior.
