You enter across from the Kitchen Table Restaurant. In the dark at night you'll totally miss it. There is no exterior signage. There is a sign in the hallway, but that's it. We tried to scout it out at night and we only found it after asking the security guard. They open at 9am and there is a line to get in. I was maybe the 10th one in. I was just checking it out as 9am is way too early for some pool time. At 9 am there was one woman already with her feet in the pool. The pool water is cool to the touch. Other people had claimed their pool chairs and were laying out. Myself and a handful of people were dressed and scouting out the area. They have 3 beautiful pools. All set up with lifeguards. They have a 21+ pool area and they have a staff member sizing you up as you approach. Apparently I look the age so they didn't card me. I'm feeling old now. They have one nautical pool that's a walk in pool. I was told it was perfect for toddlers. Since I'm toddler less I think I'll pass. My guess is there are lots of swim diapers and peek g I. That pool. Hopefully people are t too drunk and peeing in the 21+ pool. We arrived around 11 am for an actual visit to the beach club wearing our suits under our shorts and Tshirts. There were plenty of beach chairs left, but all the ones in the shade were taken. We found some near the middle pool out in the lounge chair corral. So many chairs lined up in the sun. We laid out between plunges for around an hour. I was turning blotchy so it was time to go back inside. If we had some shade we would have stayed longer. They did have padded lunge chairs with umbrellas and cabanas to rent for a hearty fee. We didn't want to spend the extra cash as we still knew it wasn't going to be an all day activity. I did get a virgin strawberry slush out of their slushy machine. It was very refreshing. I highly recommend them. Sadly they didn't offer whipped cream. We loved the pool area and would go back and stay here again for the lovely pool. read more

Enjoyed a staycation at The Rio this week (5/31 - 6/2) which meant 2 blissful pool days! Ipanema at The Rio has 4 very sizable pools, one of which is 21+ over which is a perfect place for us childfree folks to relax and is where we spent our time. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to see that the free chaise loungers do not have umbrellas. Since my husband is like a vampire and requires shade, I paid the additional $56 for us to have VIP chaise loungers at the 21+ pool which had thick cushions, an umbrella, and side tables. When we checked in we were escorted to the VIP loungers and told we could choose any pair we wanted. They were very comfortable and offered full shade to my husband and I was able to move my chaise out into the sun. The 21+ was really nice with the pool being perfectly cool without freezing, but we were bummed that the waterfalls weren't on. Yelp reviews were absolutely correct as we did see that 90% of the free chaise loungers were in full sun all day with zero relief, so I'm glad we paid extra for guaranteed shade. We made note though of the areas where there was some shade since we'd be taking advantage of the free loungers on day two at the pool. We got there earlier and practically had the entire place to ourselves, so we were easily able to snag some of the few free chaise's that had some shade from the trees. Vampire hubby was happy with his shaded chaise and I was happily sizzling in the sun. Overall, I really liked this pool (we've been to a total of 8 resort pools over the last 18 months); I'd put this in my top 4. I liked the fact they had a 21+ area that wasn't a day club, just a relaxing childfree pool, the overall layout of the entire pool area was spacious and easy to navigate, and that they allow you to bring an empty Hydroflask / reusable water bottle inside to refill at the water station inside Bar Aqua. A few minor complaints is that this pool isn't open to locals unless you are Tier Azul (minimum) for Rio's player's club or you pay for VIP loungers/cabanas. This is also the only Vegas pool we've been to that had no umbrellas at all for the free loungers and very few side tables for them; very strange and kind of harsh for guests considering how brutal our desert sun can be - I personally don't mind since I love to tan, but my husband and friends don't share that same affinity for tanning that I do and require some shade. You'd also think The Rio would want to prevent guests who aren't used to the desert heat from getting sick with heat exhaustion or heat stroke by having umbrellas placed throughout the free lounge areas; thus reducing their liability, but what do I know I guess. Lastly, the cocktail waitresses were just okay. Service was very inconsistent between the two days and our primary waitress on day 1 was extremely pushy, constantly trying to upsell us when we ordered drinks and food which was annoying. Usually pool servers get the hint when you decline an upsell the 1st time... Despite my minor complaints, I did enjoy our time at the Ipanema Pool and I wish I could go more often as a local. read more

Very disappointed today here. We booked for 2 days but will.cancel tomorrow's booking. We have rented a cabana this time of year in 2025 and 2024 and they included a fruit plate & sparkling water but now, it is only bottled water. Same price for the cabana though. We thought the minor added stuff was a great touch. But for $162.00 a day, eliminating that small extra is chintzy to say the least. And the pool is way cold for August in Las Vegas. Gonna try a different hotel cabana tomorrow and compare. read more

Such a great more laid back pool with yummy food, friendly pool gals and great music, several pools are also family friendly. During the peak months it does get crowded very early in the day so it's highly suggested to get there before noon as beach chairs can be hard to find. The birria nachos are one of their best items and are the perfect size to share between 2-3 people and easily priced at around $20. They even offer locals free entry which is the perfect mini getaway for the day, highly recommend !! read more

Can't stop talking about this hidden gem in Vegas. So clean, spacious and beautiful. Hopefully the food menu can bring back the chicken wings (maybe boneless in case some ppl are not following the instructions and keep the pool clean) We will come back more often to try the different cabanas! They have multiple pools, including one kitty pool, two or three family pools, and one adult pool. Adult pool has two jacuzzi (hot tubs) with the waterfalls. The pools were clean and kept at a comfortable temperature. The wait staff was attentive, and the food and drink prices were reasonable. Our group rented two cabanas and spent several hours here on a very busy Saturday in late July--everything went smoothly, and we had a fantastic time! read more

Wow. We had a fantastic experience. We had a cabana for the day for our mother-daughter duos. There are not many cabanas available to accommodate minors as they are mostly around the adult pools. Reservation recommended! The cabana was tastefully appointed. The service was FANTASTIC. Brian was absolutely amazing. We spent about $600 for the day, but it felt luxe. The cocktails were well made, and the fruit platter was generous. This is definitely not the fanciest pool, but there is great music (either background or DJ, throughout the day), lots of space, and good snacks. The corn salad and nachos were both on point. I feel scammed. We chose this pool Because of its 4 pools and beautiful beach club vibes. Once there, 2 pools were closed. Leaving the other two overflowing with kids. The place is worn out, the bathrooms were not clean. The pictures they have of this place aren't even close to what it really looks like. We left after an hour. I highly suggest you avoid this pool. read more

I had a fun day here at the cabana! We had excellent service and our server was fun and upbeat and hooked us up all day with shade and waters and made us feel like a mini VIP. The vibe is fun with a DJ but not too over the top loud or crazy. The pool is newly remodeled and bright and colorful and the pool temperature was very comfortable all day in the bright Vegas sun. The Cabana had a TV and fridge and clean and comfortable but did not get much cooler than the 100 degrees it was outside that day. We were not staying at the Rio but you are allowed to use their pool if you are a Rio rewards member - easy and quick and free to sign up. I would recommend. read more

Unfortunately, this ended up being our least favorite daybed of all. We bought a day bed at the 21+ pool and the pool was absolutely freezing. It was almost unbearable to remain inside for longer than 5 minutes. This pool does not open until 11am. We got there at opening, the view was beautiful, the UV rays were at about a 10 (which means it's really easy to get burned in the sun, even if you are wearing sunscreen), which is why we specifically bought a day bed, for the shade. We were frustrated when they had us close all our umbrellas due to the wind, as we paid extra money for shade, little communication between us and the staff about when we could open our umbrellas back up (which was never). We ended up getting pretty bad sunburns, being in the direct sun for 4+ hours, when we paid for shade. The only reason I did not give one star is because our waitress was seriously a 10/10 amazing. Unfortunately, we didn't have the same experience with the rest of the staff. When we went to go get towels, the staff member was on his phone and just pointed off for us to handle our problem by ourselves. This really was a bad ending to our day and made us sad because we wanted to like this pool so bad! Unfortunately, the water was way too cold for us to ever want to return. Several other hotel pools on the strip we have been to keep there water at the perfect temperature, so I'm hoping the Rio is able to do so as well. Maybe we can try again in a few years to see if it's a better experience. read more
