They sell used parts. Ordered a new MAF sensor for my Volvo and the tamper seal was already broken on it and it looked like it had been at the very least taken out of the box and then just hurled back in it with the wax paper shoved in on top of it rather than being re-wrapped. It's against the law for them to sell an electrical item with that seal broken. Their excuse was: those seals break easily. Really? How, exactly? The box was inside another box. The only way that seal is broken is for someone to intentionally break it. Either they did it or some other customer did and they simply threw it back in the box and sold it to me illegally. read more

Hard to find people with more parts and experience for older Volvos than these guys. I love the P80 wagons (850 and early V70) and have both modified and stock builds. These guys are great for both. The dealers (yes multiple) in the Bay Area are slower with parts and don't really know what I need as they only stock and work on the new stuff, but I can call ipd, get the right parts from someone who knows the projects, and can advise on what to do to get the job done, done completely and on budget. They will suggest other things that when I get enough pulled apart I see really did need replacing, and talk me out of unnecessary jobs that I might have messed up more than fixed. Horrible customer service and a nightmare of an experience overall. I've ordered parts from IPD (likely the first and last time I'll order from them) and this is my experience: -First shipment of the order took 3 months, and was missing an item that I was charged for. - The missing item was planned to be shipped along with a back ordered item -After 7 months, missing item was shipped on its own. After they insist on having me pay for shipping/customs/etc for a mistake on their OWN END -After 9 months, and not hearing back from them, they still have not shipped me the backordered item. I contact them and find out they've already restocked the item (which they failed to inform me). -ZERO effort to make up for errors on their end. Summary: -Horrible customer service and communication -extremely long shipping and handling times -missing items in shipment and no follow up (you basically have to pester them to get any feedback) Conclusion: Will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. IPD was better years ago before they changed ownership. They charge way too much for shipping and put items in gigantic boxes for no reason. Prices for some things are better on Amazon and free shipping with Amazon prime. IPD is only good for sway bars. They really don't have many items for Volvo 740, but have more for the hipster 240 Volvo. Their instructional videos have zero production value, Chrisfix on YouTube has better production quality. And IPD is a multi million dollar company. read more

When I first told my father in law (who was a Volvo mechanic in the 1970s and also road raced and daily drove Volvos) that I was buying a '67 Volvo 122S, the first thing he asked me was 'You know about IPD, right?' I had heard of IPD. I had heard very good things. My father-in-law told me they were the most knowledgeable Volvo experts in North America back when he was involved in racing 30-40 years ago and they apparently still are. I just received my first order from IPD. I had a ton of questions about the parts I was ordering and I was very impressed that the guy I spoke with was able to answer them all. I live in Canada, so I asked them to ship to a company in Montana on the border so I could pick the parts up and save on customs and duty, which they had no problem doing. If you have a Volvo, especially an older one like I do, I can't imagine why you would go anywhere else for parts. I'll be ordered again soon! read more

IPD is a Volvo owners best resource for maintenance and upgrades. All of the staff at IPD are Volvo geeks who have extensive personal knowledge of Volvos. Many parts that are no longer available anywhere including the dealership can be found here, and IPD even has some of their parts custom manufactured just for them. I have saved countless hours and dollars by using IPD over the years. It should be noted that IPD does both Volvos and Subarus, but I am only familiar with the Volvo side of the business. read more

I really like your company. I have bought some things from you for my wagon. I just want to interject some constructive criticism Your phone/ hold system is basically mental warfare/ torture. If you call in you get to hear random music (which is OK) then every 45 seconds or so an automated voice clicks over and you think you get a representative, but you don't. Then you get the little help a pet interjection. Where a the line clicks over and a man says "Hello, blah blah"and you perk up thinking your gonna get a representative again.But nope, It's like Lucy pulling away the football from Charlie Brown. It's just painful to be on hold here for more than one minute. An estimated wait time would be great. I know some business are small and don't have the manpower to answer the phone quickly. Just say that in your answering machine. Instead having voice recording lady give that to us as option every 45 seconds. The worst phone system ever. Otherwise, nice little company. They helped me fix my PCV system and my trunk! read more

After dealing with snotty pretentious Volvo dealers I started looking for an alternative parts supplier. Glad I did. Found the part I needed on IPD's easy to use website. Called in and confirmed it was in stock. Showed up this morning to buy it and Mr. Sins was so helpful and friendly. I was in and out in under 5 minutes with an OEM motor mount at half price. I had some urgent parts that I needed for my wheel and tire setup. I ran as fast as I could to pick them up. I was a few minuites late, but they still took the time to get me the parts! PJ also took the time to explain to me what I need and why I needed it instead of pushing me out the door. Ordered a part that their website said would fit my car. Tried installing the part. It didn't fit. Called customer service and they assured me it will fit, so I brought the car and parts to my mechanic and let him have a go. He said parts do not fit. I called customer service to tell them the parts do not fit even though the website says they should. I had to pay the return shipping and a 15% restocking fee. I mean seriously, I could see if this was my fault for ordering the wrong part, but when the seller says a part should fit my car and it doesn't, I think it should be the seller's responsibility to pay for shipping and NOT charge a 15% restocking fee. I would give only 1 star, but of the two times I called customer service the guy on the phone was at least pleasant to deal with even though I did not get the service I thought I should have received. read more

BEWARE OF IPD brand products. The Yelp description of a ONE STAR company says it best. "Eek! Methinks not."!!!! IPD removes negative product reviews so you dont know the true feedback. No more IPD parts are going on my S60R! I have purchased a laundry list of parts from ipdusa in the past and have had a fair experience UNTIL now. I purchased 5 IPD HD brand ignition coils on the recommendation that you not "mix and match" the IPD brand with the O.E. (Bosch) brand. My car ran perfect and the ignition coils were part of the scheduled maintenance on the car and not due to any current problems. After installing the ignition coils the car experienced intermittent misfires. After returning the vehicle to the shop, the mechanic put O.E Bosch ignition coils back in the car and the car has ran perfect ever since. As listed on the IPD website the coils were marketed as "better than o.e quality", however the coils i received were clearly sub-par in production compared to the o.e Bosch coils. While removing the ignition coils the insulator boot separated from the coil on all 5 of the coils. Upon contacting IPD, BRANDON AND ANDREW stated the boots were "meant to be replaceable". This statement was not listed in the product description and every certified mechanic advised me that there is no possible reason why the boot should ever need to be replaced, and even if it were to become damaged, the sensible course of action would be to throw away the bad boot/coil and replace it entirely. BRANDON AND ANDREW refused to offer a refund and stated it was their "stance" that they run these on all their employees cars and they don't have problems. They were very unapologetic and stated that their "stance" was more important than the customers they serve. Good luck to IPD in the future as they will continue to lose customers to their competitors. Looks like RockAuto.com, eeuroparts.com, volvopartswebstore.com, and many others will recieve my business in the future. read more

I ordered a kit from IPD a few months ago, when I took it into the mechanic, they noticed one of the parts was not the same. I contacted IPD and found that for my year/model one of the parts changed and was identifiable by the serial on the engine. The IPD staff worked with me on getting the correct part in which they do not sell individually for my car and managed to get it shipped out for an overnight delivery the same day. They were very helpful in my negative situation, as always I recommend purchasing from IPD, the only downside was that FedEx didn't deliver the parts until 2:05pm so my mechanic has little time to work on my car, but hopefully they will have it finished and back to me for the weekend. IPD is a safe bet for every Volvo part purchase. You don't need to worry about having a part arrive and it not fitting or needing additional parts (o-rings for example) to be installed properly. Their kits are well thought out of in anticipation of real projects where you'd like to get everything thing accomplished while your digging around (i.e. doing a water pump while doing the timing belt). They are more knowledgeable than the stealerships and can usually find a part number before the stealerships. Parts that IPD has designed have always fixed the design defect of known problematic OEM parts (swaybar endlinks, and upper strut mounts). Very helpful and customer service oriented. Can't praise them enough! Shop at IPD if you work on your Volvo! read more

I recently ordered for the first time and had to return. Company claims they did not receive part of the return and it was my tough luck. I have a receipt from the post office showing the weight of the box returned. This weight was consistent with the items they say were not there, and the company could not explain the discrepancy. At this point it is a matter of principle. Their word against mine, but at least I have facts on my side not just words. It is inconceivable that they would receive only part of the return in the same box. I think quasi-legalization in Oregon could have had an impact. read more

If I could've left less then one start I would have. IPD is nothing more than a bunch of liars who mislead their customers. I have placed an order for two tail-lights on 4/14/2017. Parts were marked as being back-ordered with estimated date for delivery in two weeks. Not a problem, I thought. Over the next few weeks every-time when I called I was being told that parts are coming and I should just keep on waiting. Not a problem again, I'll wait, I thought. Then came 3rd week of May and I was told that parts having finally arrived and now are going through the customs. Not a problem again, I thought. Then after they finally cleared the customs they began to be unloaded. Again, not a problem. So I kept waiting. Then finally I was told that I should expect my package next week around Tuesday. Great! It is finally here, and I am going to get what I have ordered six weeks prior. Then came Tuesday and package did not arrive, so I just decided to call. The guy on the phone told me that they did not receive enough of the tail-lights and I am not going to get them. So for six weeks I was being jerked around and lied to, I could have ordered the parts from any other store and have them already delivered. read more
