I've been going to Halsey import parts for the past 20 sum years, I'm constantly amazed at the good service and quick access to oem parts that typically you have to get online and wait a week or so. I don't know how they do it , but it's amazing, plus their pricing is very competitive to online pricing . Great place to get parts and special orders can come relatively pretty quick, I ordered a camshaft solenoid gasket and got it 3 hours later same day! The place is right one 78th and Halsey, and you can't miss it there are tons of VW vans outside of the place. Everything was great except one thing, the customer service wasn't really good, but it's understandable I guess because they are so short staffed and when it becomes really busy they can't deal with it all. The person that was helping me was so rushed that he special ordered a part that I didn't even need and tried to get my to buy something I need. So I took a star away from that, I would give it a 4* but I'll be back because parts are pretty cheap! Comparable to Discount Auto Parts in Oregon City! They mostly cater to VW and Audi but they will try their best to help you with different imports too! read more

Horrible service is what summarizes my experience and this is why... I ordered parts for my car and made sure to ask about their return policies as I was not 100% of the accuracy of those parts if I could use them..... they told me I can return the parts anytime so long as they are not used but, when I tried to return the parts because they were wrong, they asked to charge 50%restocking fee. that's right 50% restocking fee on parts that are still in their original packages. Those guys are vultures and will never buy from them ever again and I encourage folks to look for other alternatives before visiting this store read more

Halsey has been my go-to parts store since, I think, the '80s. All of the people there are solid. No (or very rarely - nobody is perfect) wrong parts, part numbers or returns for errors on their part. They know their stuff, not like most other part stores I could mention. They used to be my go-to for Volkswagen (air-cooled) parts, since prices are reasonable. But the more I've been there, the more they're stumped and can't get something. On top of that, service is slow and indifferent. No apologies that they don't have something, and when I asked a question about a part, the guy did not try to explain it at all. I'm a smart, mechanically-minded person, so it's not a lack of intelligence preventing me from knowing what you're talking about. Also, they don't seem to know or care much for Type 3 VWs, and that's the car I have. If they have what you want and can ask for it, you'll do fine going here. But I'm sticking with the competition for now. read more

The quality of parts and the low mark-up make this the top choice for getting parts for your Audi/VW. I checked somewhere else for a valve and they wanted $90. I checked here, the same valve for $35. That seems like quite a difference if you ask me. The first time I ever visited I was in a hurry, and the guy at the desk was a bit stand-offish. Maybe that's because of my attitude. Subsequent visits have been pleasant and helpful. Would definitely reccomend. read more

Halsey is a great place to buy parts. Service is good and prices are hard to beat. Although they specialize in and stock lots of Volkswagen parts, they also have parts at good prices for most imports. Ordered parts can usually be gotten within a couple of hours. The prices are typically lower than Autozone or NAPA. read more

Man this place sucks. First i call to ask about drip spindles for my bug. The guy who anwsered tbe pgone says they have thwm in stock and so i didnt hesitate to drive the 20 miles to pick tbem up. I get home all excited and jack my bug up and pop tbe wheels off. To find out that they sold me drop spindles for a disc brake set up, this was a total waste of the day at this point and my cars in pieces in the drive way. I head vack to Halsey automotive to return the bogus parts and im rold they dont stick the correct spindles and id i were to buy them i would be charged shipping. The price was equal to a online bug retailer who ships for free... so i pass on that deal. Also the kid at the parts counter trys selling me ob drop shocks.... drop shicks dobt correspond ti drop spindles. What a joke, and a waste of my time. Never again. read more

AWFUL!! I called about having my transmission looked at a very rude grumpy old man told me he couldn't see me for 2 weeks, Ok fine. Then he said I should drop it off, get a rental and if I kept driving Id need a new $6000 transmission...HE NEVER LOOKED AT MY CAR and suggested all of this. I went somewhere else and it took 3 hours and no rental car was needed and all is good. read more

Not sure why everyone is giving them such bad ratings and reviews. They probably just don't know what they're doing/looking for and are being biased. Before shopping for parts I always get the part code that I'm shopping for. It makes communicating what I'm looking for much easier and much faster. It also sets the employees up for success to help me the quickest they can. I ordered a wiper transmission and an ignition for my VW through Halsey Import Parts and the cost of them combined was cheaper than a single part at every other parts company I tried calling before them. My parts were there and ready for pickup the very next day. I walked in, paid, walked out. It was quick and painless. They even reminded me to get new wipers and wiper fluid since I was replacing my motor. I needed them and just forgot but they were on it. The parts are still holding up just fine! I'm about to shop through them again for a new mirror and door handle. 10/10 recommend. read more
