For years I've loved Ipswich Ale's beers. I'm so glad they've finally opened up the pub. Great beer, really nice atmosphere (No TV on!! Thank you!!!), and I had a really good burger. As for the reviewers here that say it's not 'Kid Friendly', well good. It shouldn't be. It's a brewery for cryin out loud. Take the kids to ChuckECheese and let the adults have a beer in peace. read more

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. Parking is difficult on Saturdays and the wait was long. Service was slow and not accommodating. We did not get any bread and they didn't give us any water. The lobster farfalle dish was recommended and I ordered it. It was warm, not hot, flavor was ok. Wish I was offered fresh pepper or grated cheese. My son had a bacon cheeseburger and thought the burger was Ok but the bacon was overdone and minimal. I think the restaurant has a confused identity. It should be a pub with "good" pub food but they are trying to be more with higher prices. If you want to be more, you need better service and better prepared food. I have to say I love the atmosphere and the beers they have created. Top notch in my book. What I have been very disappointed in the last 2 times we were there is the food. We tried again thinking is was just a bad night. When they first opened the food was very good for pub food and made for a great dinner, but now, not so much. My fish and chips was so bad, I couldn't cut with with my fork... Frozen no doubt. The lobster sandwich a friend had tasted of canned product and the salad looked as if it had been made by a child. We did not complain because our friends were visiting and treated us to dinner. I hope they can bring the food back to par. read more

Very poor service, ok but sloppily prepared food. We were there on a slow Sunday night but the kitchen was in the weeds and overwhelmed. They couldn't manage to slice up a baguette, toast it for 30 secs and send it to us as should have been included with a messy, melted cheese appetizer. When I requested a certain beer in a smaller than 12 ounce glass they said fine, but it would be the same price. Now THAT'S customer service. Basically, they think they're good but they're not. Not efficient, consistent or good with the cooking and preparation. Rob Martin should have waited another five years. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for some beer after going to Topsfield Fair. We each had a flight then a pint of our favorite beer. I liked all of the beers and the inside is Adorable! Very cozy and cute and they sell lots of cool merch. We did not eat, but the menu seemed to have a decent amount of options. We will definitely come back if in the area. read more

Parking is a big problem. The decor was nice and the staff was very friendly. The bartender was very pleasant but seeing that the bar was full and she was the only person working it took a long time to be served and even longer if you wanted a second beer. When it came time for dinner, the food, even though it sounded good, was not a pleasant experience. The mussels were wild with pearls in them and under cooked, the 2 orders of fish and chips were overcooked and extremely dry.The Cole slaw was just shredded cabbage and mayonnaise with no seasoning. I understand it is a new restaurant and they have to work out the kinks, but the manager, who helped serve the meals, should never let them get to the table. On a scale of 1-10, i would give it a 2. I am sorry but we will not be running back! read more

we went to the ipswich ale brewer's table for lunch followed by a birthday party, and overall everything was spot on. i ordered the chicken sandwich, which sounds simple but came with an amazing pesto goat cheese spread and a really nice, airy ciabatta square roll. i chose the side of greens and it paired extremely well with the revival beer, which was a little yeasty, crisp, and great flavor. my husband got the pulled pork sandwich with fried egg added, and let's just say i didn't get to try a bite and our waitress was very confident he loved it upon clearing his plate. during the party i also tried some of the chicken wings which were crispy and moist, perfect combination. speaking of the party, it was a really nice set up with a back room for us to mingle in, and provided with a whole bunch of flights of beers which was easy to sample and try different things. i LOVED the zamatra and recommend to anyone who loves flavor and coffee. the cranberry beret was very sweet and tart, but the melan-collie is delicious. last but not least i cannot forget the sodas. I've heard good things about this place and was excited to go. First, they don't open until noon on Sunday which is fine, but I would've assumed 11 or 11:30 to start lunch service. Second, I arrived at 11:58 (literally) and they were in a staff meeting. The doors were open and a server came over and awkwardly looked at the clock and then said, "We don't open until noon." Third, after waiting the 2 minutes until the official open time, when requesting a table for me, my husband, and 2 year old, they said they don't have high chairs. This type of non family friendly atmosphere will not bode well for Ipswich in the ever competitive brewery market which is and continues to become more and more extremely family friendly. We left and I suggested to the hostess they get high chairs and she stared at me blankly. read more

I came to the Ipswich Ale Brewer's Table with a large group of 9 (4 being children). They were very accommodating with our group and found us a great table. The Ipswich brewery has a nice menu with fresh seafood. I really enjoyed my fish and chips. The beer selection is a step above the standard micro brewery. I wanted to take home the special blueberry shandy (a must order for warmer weather), but unfortunately they only sell one type of beer to take home. Overall, a great spot for lunch or dinner in Ipswich. read more

Nice quirky menu with some interesting items which I love to see. They were out of the soup which was a bummer because my friend was really looking forward to that. We went with goat cheese and bread (just so so), pot roast poutine (amazing) and Thanksgiving egg rolls (unique). For beers, I tried the blueberry shandy. Lovely flavor and my friend tried the Cranberry which had a really interesting sour and then sweet taste. I stole his pumpkin stout to finish off the night (so so so good but pub only/not available in stores). The desserts looked awesome but we behaved and didn't try anything. Maybe next time though as the pretzel dish sounded good. Service was friendly and prompt, and the prices for great for the beer and food. We had heard that Ipswich Ale opened a restaurant and on a whim decided to try it for lunch. What a great find! The ambiance is so cool. The food incredible and of course, the beer is great too!!! We split the Thanksgiving egg roles and the LBGT sandwich (very very generous amount of lobster on here) and had the cheddar ale soup and clam chowder. In addition, the service was impecable too. Can't wait to come back again and try more of the menu. read more

My wife and I have visited craft breweries throughout the US and Europe and rate IAB one of the best. Most craft breweries tasting rooms feature plain uncomfortable folding tables and chairs, limited bar menus and unsightly restrooms and overall pedestrian atmosphere. The warehouse motif may be fine for the 21-25 age bracket but wears very thin, after a visit or two, for maturer age brackets. First Impression: Wow, Christmas in October with multi-colored lights, subdued lighting and very comfortable seating both at the bar and tables providing a great atmosphere for imbibing. Beers: Excellent selection of house brews including Ipswich 101 and Ipswich 1620 and the most inventive flight racks we have encountered (see photo). My wife's flight were superb. Service: Outstanding. if your are fortunate enough to have Myles serve you at the bar you will be forever grateful for his brewing expertise, tasting experience and pleasant personality...his dad is also great guy. Our only regret is we didn't have time to experience their food menu but that give us another excuse to revisit Ipswich Ale the next time were in Massachusetts. read more

After many years of waiting for a brewery bar to be approved, fans of Ipswich Ale are finally rewarded with a pub dedicated to presenting Ipswich Ale's best. And, may I tell you, it was worth the wait. I hope you're thirsty for beer, because that's ALL that you are going to find at the Brewer's Table bar. Don't think you're a beer person? I guarantee there's a variety on tap that will make you wonder why you didn't like beer in the first place. All nine-odd beer offerings are Ipswich Ale varieties that you may or may have not heard of before. If you're not sure where to start, pick out a flight and figure out where your tastes stand. If you know what you want and plan on ordering taps, don't fret if you're running low on cash. Each tap is $5. YES...$5!!! There's a food option on the menu for even the pickiest of eaters in your party. Although some of the menu items are moderate in price, they sure don't skimp out on presentation. No expenses were spared in creating this place. Although the Brewer's Table is inside a renovated mill factory, there's a definite fine restaurant feel to the place as you are sitting and enjoying your beer. Aesthetics such as the truck bed bar tap make the place stand apart from any other brewery bar. Lots of wide angle side windows give a great view into what's going on down inside the brewery itself. The Brewer's Table can get extremely flooded during busy hours, but the committed waitstaff crew is skilled in controlling the urban sprawl and getting you to a table as quickly as possible. Friendly bar staff are there to serve you in a relatively timely manner. It's an overall great atmosphere, but be warned that the room acoustics are poor and it can get LOUD during busy hours! So...What are you waiting for?! If you love Ipswich Ale, the Brewer's Table is a must for you to explore. Cool idea, lousy execution. I've been a huge fan of Ipswich Ale for a long time and was excited to check out their restaurant. The food wasn't bad but the service was terrible. It took forever to get beers, forever to get food, forever to get our check, and forever to get our card back. The waitress said sorry it's really busy tonight but there were a bunch of empty tables around us. Unfortunately I probably won't be back. Nice, clean place and food good but wouldn't say great. Daughter enjoyed her pizza and asked for her left overs to go, sadly they never brought it back to the table. She realized they forgot her pizza when we were out the door...no evening snack I guess :/. Fried clams were good. Desserts are super small, brownie skillet is about 2 inches in diameter, maybe 2.5" at the most. As another reviewer noted, the salmon on the salad is small. Son had the salmon dinner with asparagus, which he liked but the wild rice was a bit bland. The clam chowder was also just ok. Place wasn't busy, only about 4 other diners, so we were seated and served immediately. Server was good, until she forgot the pizza. read more

It's a locally brewed soda brand from the Ipswich Brewery and it's not good. They say they use no real sugar, but they add so much sweetener it's just way too much and feels like you have to brush your teeth after. I've had better locally brewed sodas. read more

We've waited a long time for this restaurant to open up. The place is beautiful, they did a really nice job on the remodel. Most important..The BEER is great so if you're into tastings or trying new brews this place is for you. At first glance the menu looks pretty good some very interesting and appealing apps and dishes. However, we've been there a couple of times and the food itself seems to fall a little short in the taste, preparation and presentation. The Brewers Table has only been open a few weeks. I will go back and hopefully they will work out the kinks. read more

OMG...Love...Love...Love...the new brewery!!! We had our girls night out last night. We started with a couple of beer flights to try out the Ipswich brews. starters we had turkey dinner spring rolls, meatball so tastie and full of flavor. For dinner I had the mustard salmon OMG it was amazing, it was my first time having salmon too. Everything was delicious!! This was my second time going to the Ipswich Ale Brewer's Table and the second time the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere, the food, the beer... all deserve 5 stars! For the appetizer we ordered the pickled wings. Six beautifully crispy wings arrived at our table. If you're a fan of pickles this dish is for you. Not terribly spicy, just the right amount of tang. Delicious! I ordered the charred Caesar. I've never had any thing like this before and really enjoyed it. The smokiness of the lettuce really enhanced the flavor of he entire plate. The salad comes with anchovies, which I never had before. They were quite salty, but overall added to the flavor of the dish. They do not have a children's menu, so my 6 year old picky eater ordered the meatloaf. It came with gravy, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. It was quite a large portion, but he polished half the plate.. all of the meatloaf and half of the mashed potatoes! The service was just as good. Our waiter was super attentive and very knowledgeable about both the food and the beer. We will absolutely be going back soon! read more

Poutine was very good...but food in general can be improved, especially if you're a brewery restaurant and can't make a good burger...Maybe next time will come just for beer or a tour, until they figure out what they want their restaurant to be. read more

One of the best brewery tours. Best bang for your buck, interactive, many samples and informative. Not only was the tour great (John and Albert shout out) but the beer was delicious. Overall I was very impressed with the food at Brewer's Table. I really liked the decor and the service was great. The best part of the restaurant was how many beers they have on tap and getting to try Ipswich Ale's that you can't usually find in stores. If you're eating here I recommend doing apps or some of the smaller plates because they were a lot better than the more expensive entrees. My group split the Thanksgiving egg rolls and pot roast poutine and both were outstanding-- my favorite part of the meal. The patty melt was great, but some of the larger dishes were underwhelming like the bolognese and the duck. I hope this place does well we had a lot of fun and the tour was awesome. read more

The food is disgusting. I live in Ipswich and I've tried going about four or five times and it's just gross. The two cooks arent trained professionals, their just young kids. The chicken wings were pink on the inside, the vege/hummus dish came with a tablespoon of hummus and three carrots, and four slimy cucumbers. My kids didn't even eat it. My Kids pasta wasn't even cooked fully and the parm cheese had mold in it. The brownie sundae was super dry and seemed very old. This was the last time I'll be there for Food. The staff is great though, please hire a Kitchen manager with experience and revise the menu asap! They need to stick to beer and maybe flatbread pizzas that's it. read more

I am a huge fan of microbrews and I'm so happy that a brewery of this caliber is located in my hometown. I have tried almost all of them, but the Ipswich Ale, Ipswich IPA, Ipswich Oatmeal Stout & Stonecat IPA are my favorites. I look forward to trying the seasonal "Choate Bridge Imperial Stout" which I just bought last night. We waited over an hour for a table, and then waited almost another hour wait to get our meal. The beer was great but the food sadly lacking. We had five in our party and three of us found our meals to be almost inedible. We had high hopes as Ipswich could use a new restaurant. Perhaps the kitchen is still trying to find their groove. After a day at Crane's beach we were looking for a spot nearby for a good meal. Choate Bridge and Salt were packed solid, as usual, so we searched for an alternative and found this gem. It's right downtown, but on a side street in a quiet little neighborhood. First, it's inside the brewery, with high wood ceilings and a bit of an industrial feel, which is cool, plus of course they have great local beers on tap. There is off-street parking and a nice outdoor patio with full service for nice days. It's definitely kid-friendly, but also has some sophisticated food on its menu like curry-steamed mussels (yum) and jerked quail. The chef/manager came to our table and told us the story of his Thanksgiving Egg Rolls (you MUST try these): Myles was working to get the restaurant ready to open for the day after Thanksgiving last year, and thus missed the big turkey fest with his family. After 2 days of solid work, he went home to find that no leftovers were saved for him. So he decided to make his own turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, and put the whole meal in bite-size form.
