Excellent patio tables with plenty of space and a beer with a view.

A cozy riverbend pub and patio, perfect for a creative brew and a very light nosh. Interior is one large, open space of delightful exposed brick and an industrial chic vibe. A smattering of keg-barrel tables, and some standing-around-drinking-your-beer room near the bar itself. Order beers and small snacks at the register. The snacks are a bit of an afterthought, so don't come hungry. The cheese plate for 2 is basically a tastier Lunchable, and you may want to order your own if you like a decent bite-to-sip ratio. Several pub tables outside with keg-barrel umbrella stands on a pebbled patio, nicely distanced so you have your own space to chat by the charming river view. We visited on a very hot, mid-summer Sunday, grateful for the large and necessary umbrellas. Limited off-street parking lot. Friendly staff. Good variety of very nice beers, which is ultimately why you are here.

Get here early, in nice weather, if you want a seat outside along the Shawsheen river and/or convenient parking. The main lot is small, and they do have spaces reserved exclusively for Oak & Iron, but there's not enough of them. If there's no tables outside, there's still plenty of space inside, particularly if you're here with a larger group. Beers are reasonably priced, with something for everyone, and flights are available. My coffee stout had a distinct flavor and a really nice color to it. Service is quick and friendly, including staff walking around outside checking on you. This afternoon there was a food truck, Souped Up Food. We didn't order anything from them, but there was a menu of their products on each table (great variety of options), and many happy customers eating their products - definitely someplace to look up for a separate review. Oak & Iron is a bit of a walk from downtown Andover, but it's very convenient from the train station.

Beautiful riverside view, hometown brewery atmosphere, nice slate of crafty hops-infused concoctions. This is New England

Oak & Iron is worth working around the limited hours and small parking lot. The slate of fresh, local ales, porters, lagers and more come as a hidden gem in Andover. With tanks in the tasting room and the Brewmaster plying his trade with a smile on his face, Oak & Iron is the real deal! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Don't come for the food--either food truck or light snacks available--you can Grub Hub or Door Dash. I'll be back for the beer!

Great beer, really enjoyed the Belgian dubbel. The pretzels are incredible, best I've had. The space is nice and open inside, with a riverside patio outside. Looking forward to visiting when spring comes!

Loved this cute place. Staff was so nice and they have small apps which is always great in a brewery. Great atmosphere

I always have the best time at Oak and Iron. I love their beers and the variety they have on tap. The indoor brewery space is spacious and fun, and they have a heated tent outside that you can bring pets to. I really loved their strawberry wheat beer that they made for valentines. We will definitely be back

Outside...old mill with a river/brook running next to it.

Solid spot. I don't live local enough (almost two hours away) to go here often, but if I did, I'm sure we would stop in periodically. Some good brews on tap (with a couple standouts), some nice snacks, fun location, new and clean space (including the bathroom), safe atmosphere, and friendly staff. Fun little side trip if you're coming to the area for other reasons (example...Lord Hobo isn't far away), and want a brewery with a small town, more personal feel.

    View from an outside table.

Great craft brews! Staff is very well informed on the beers. Rustic feel, but classic oak and iron feel!

They're always experimenting, and I've also been thoroughly impressed with their stouts, sours, and pilsners. 5 stars on the beer alone. For those who know the brews but haven't been to the Tewksbury location: come! Enjoy! The Clubhouse taproom is spacious, lively, welcoming, and run like a well oiled machine. Show your ID, get a bracelet, and the staff will pour whatever, and it'll be sublime. Drink it to wash down one of their tasty house-made pizzas; honestly, the pizza kitchen is far better than most local "house of pizza" places, and could probably survive as a business on its own. Give your order and you'll get a text when it's ready. Then enjoy the pie, which features a crisp, well seasoned crust with a nice chew. I had pepperoni with hot honey and a side of ranch dipping sauce; never thought I'd gush about ranch sauce, but damn, it's seriously good. Wrap up your visit with a to-go order of cans from their lengthy beer menu. No, it ain't cheap. Yes, it's worth the price. All in all a great chilling with beer and pizza experience, and a welcome addition to the northern burbs.

They had quite an extensive list of IPAs. A few with fruit which I sampled and landed on the mango. None of them are overly sweet which is nice. They only have 12 or 16 oz options. No smaller options for flights. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza. They only come in one size and the topping options are pretty basic. Pepperoni, cheese, white pizza, vodka, margarita. You can add hot honey or extra pepperoni only. All around ~$22 which is honestly a great deal since it's a large pizza that can easily be split by 4 people. The crust isn't super thick but still holds up to the toppings. Pepperoni was of the cup variety and had a good flavor.
