IQ Home Entertainment ended up fulfilling an order that I had placed through Klipsch's website some months ago. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the order and Klipsch customer support was less than useless. After months of delays and getting transferred around to multiple departments, I ended up getting in touch directly with Sean. Despite Sean's own troubles trying to get Klipsch to correct things, he persevered and resolved my issue. An associate named Ben contacted me and said he had a few options for me, and if we spoke on the phone it would probably be easier. My friend had a great experience working with IQ to update his home theater and felt this was a great company deserving of a Yelp review, so I've agreed to it post about it for him on here. Scott worked with him to show him around the store, share information about some of their different receivers and speakers, and answer questions. He was also very helpful in running some demos of various speakers. The result was a new Anthem MRX 520 receiver and a pair of Paradigm Prestige 85F's to pair with an existing SVS PC-13 Ultra. I can count the number of reviews I have given on one hand....I guess I'll need two now haha. I bought a Yamaha receiver at a great price from Iq Home Entertainment. I must admit I was a bit leary about buying from a third party. I received the receiver the following day! A month and a half after the purchase the receiver started popping and cracking. After swapping the receiver out with my old one I determined it was faulty. To make this long story even longer.....I ended up having a new receiver on my doorstep the following day. They are there to help you find the right things, not spend more $ than you're supposed to, and make you feel good about dropping several hundred dollars if not several thousand. I just visited IQ because I had a set of B&W speakers that had malfunction (they are a B&W dealer). I came on a Sunday, directly from swim lessons with the 7-month old baby, and these guys could not be nicer. The speakers, a set of CDM-9NTs, weigh about 60 lbs a piece. Rather than me having to struggle with managing the baby & stroller and unloading the speakers myself -- the nice gents at IQ went out and grabbed the speakers out of my SUV for me. The fellas then spent the next 40 minutes diagnosing the issue (which turned out to be dislodged tweeter pod) and fixing it right there. Once they were fixed -- the loaded them back up for me. When I offered to pay them for their time -- they wouldn't take my money. Keep in mind -- these speakers were hand-me-downs and they were not even purchased at IQ. James and Sean particularly were fantastic. I cannot recommend these folks enough. Next time I am in the market ... I know where I am going. Thanks you again IQ! read more

I purchased my Hi-Fi (Arcam components and Focal speakers) from IQ last year and had a very positive experience. This year after I purchased a townhome I visited IQ and picked up an LED TV, a Sub Woofer and a Receiver. I again had an extremely positive experience and when I upgrade the home theater next year, will shop with IQ. The staff knows the technology they sell very well. The prices are extremely competitive. I do my own installs so I cannot rate their installation services. I purchased a Rega Planar 3 turntable through Amazon (gotta love gift cards!) and it happened to be fulfilled by IQ. The delivery was very quick but unfortunately, the table did not work. I called IQ and explained the issue and after some quick troubleshooting we determined it was either the power supply or the motor (just my luck, getting the one problematic TT Rega has ever made!). However, Sean at IQ went out of his way to ensure I had a new table sent to me and it arrived just a couple of days after I called. This one has no issues at all. Love this place. Been going to them since 2009. To date, I have bought 2 plasma TVs and a very nice receiver from them. I recently had a house built. Personalized service, and down-to-earth folks. General Manager Sean Brewer and his staff gave me the same attention and courtesy they would've extended to a more well-heeled customer. The sound system I wanted was a special order, and a dinky purchase by a true audiophile's standards. They didn't try to "up-sell" me on another system in stock. Their price was competitive, and they took the time to show me how to set it up. Awesome. At Amazon I had found a bookshelf sound system which got great reviews. But I preferred to use a local business for the purchase, so I could: get help with setup, avoid worrying about the shipment being stolen by my front door, and also maybe help a little bit to keep a local store afloat. Here's hoping many more customers find their way to IQ Home Entertainment for their TVs, stereos, etc. - it's a hidden treasure . I can't say enough about the folks at IQ or the store in general. I recently purchased my Hi-Fi equipment from IQ (Cambridge Audio, Thorens, and Canton). Johnny was the main associate that assisted me while I was searching through and auditioning products and he was great! Even though I came to the store looking for some specific products the guys at the store were able to give me further suggestions on products that would pair well with some of my choices. Everyone is knowledgable and helpful, which is something I appreciate especially when I'm buying premium items. The store is thoroughly stocked with a large number of brands that will meet and exceed anyone's needs. Whether you're looking for a TV or want that McIntosh turntable this is the place to go. Their pricing isn't terribly inflated as I've seen with some brick and mortar AV stores. Also, the one product that I wanted that wasn't in the store was ordered and arrived in under 3 days. When Myer-Emco went out of business in early 2009 (and Tweeter closed a year or two before that), I was looking for a home electronics place where I could buy new speakers and maybe a home theatre receiver and TV. Of course I was aware I could buy these items online, but selecting speakers is a matter of personal preference, so how could I do that online? Best Buy, or a similar big box electronics place was not an option, since staff members are, in general, complete morons. So, when I found out about IQ Home Entertainment, I wanted to drive out to Fairfax to check it out. Turns out, the owners are former Myer-Emco folks, so I knew the advice and customer service would be good. Long story, short, after two trips, I bought a full set of speakers and a 60" LED LCD TV. I initially also bought a home theater receiver, but I returned it after I found another model online with very similar features and a lower price. I'm taking one star off my review because my salesman (Nick) knew about this receiver, but recommended the more expensive one (the cheaper one was last year's model). When we compared the two, they were virtually identical, so I returned mine and bought the less expensive one from Crutchfield since it was now out of stock at IQ. I understand he was trying to make a bigger sale and therefore a better commission, but it made me trust him less. It was kind of a short-sighted sales move. However, their prices there are very good and they'll price match Amazon. So, if you need good quality A/V equipment, go check 'em out. read more
