We had a unique accident in which approximately 50' of fencing was destroyed, including a corner…read more We had wanted another contractor to fix the problem, but our insurance company had a relationship with Nordic and asked us to use them for the quote. The insurance company estimated the damage at ~$1000 and we felt it was much more, so we went ahead and had Nordic come out to give a quote. The fence is on a steep, sandy hill, the two sections used different quality materials (one section predated the other), and we have chickens on the property so we had erected a temporary fence. Nordic came out on the day they arranged and had called ahead of time. I walked through the job with their estimator and called out some of the differences (one section had a skirt, another used lapped siding and 4x6 posts); he acknowledged and submitted his quote to the insurance company at over 4x their estimate. Due to their prior relationship, our insurance company accepted the bid and Nordic told us a small job like this could be done in the coming week; a 2-3 day job. On the first day I met the fellas doing the construction and wasn't overly impressed. Just seemed casual and only one guy was on the job. At the end of the day I met up again and they appeared a long way from being done and it was just the one fella remaining (the other had already left). He also indicated they needed a lot more concrete than anticipated due to the soft, sandy soil. But, he was conscientious with the materials they were leaving, the temp fencing was buttoned up, and most of the debris from the damage was removed. Next day they finished the post placement and appeared to leave quite early. I contacted the estimator as he indicated it might be a 2-day job and he texted me back stating they'd be done the next day. It didn't look like it but, I didn't have a lot of options. The third day was like magic: the work was done, the quality exceeded by expectation, and even though I worried they were setting me up for a larger bill, the cost came in exactly on quote. In all, a quality job that came in on budget and, while i was anxious for it to be done for our chickens, it did get done within a week of when they bid the job. I'm quite happy and would have Nordic out again.

Her price was not the rock-bottom lowest, but it was also not the highest by far and she definitely was most knowledgeable of all the people we had out. All of the people she has come to the job are her employees, which means they are invested in doing a good job - that is not the case with some painting companies who will hire sub-sub contractors that may not care as much about doing high-quality work. She was great at providing input on different paint brands and the features of each given our specific job. Nicole arrived early the first day to do another walk around of the house with me and make sure she had a handle on all of the job details. She also introduced the crew to me by name which I appreciated. The crew did a fantastic job prepping the house, including small details like touching up the caulking all around the house. Nicole came back when the painting crew arrived a few days later (the house had to dry out) and again introduced me to the crew and made sure they had everything they needed to get started. The painting crew did a fabulous job masking the house - not one of our bushes had overspray and the windows were all totally clean as well. They also took it totally in stride and were pleasant when I asked them to change the color on a piece of trim - we just hadn't directed anything specific for it before the job began so they did what was standard and it turned out when I saw it that we wanted it non-standard :-) Nicole even asked about it specifically when she came to do the final walk around as the painters were cleaning up and I confirmed that we'd asked to have it painted that way - she really pays attention to the details! After all is said and done, our house looks really wonderful, Nicole and her employees were very pleasant and professional to work with - it's obvious they know what "the right thing" is and believe in doing it, and that Nicole is highly invested and involved in her business and the satisfaction of her customers.
