When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Abby, who gave me a tour of the facility and made me feel comfortable. After showing my proof of insurance, she asked for my credit card. I asked why it was needed, and she explained that it was standard practice to keep one on file, but she wasn't sure of the specific reasons and offered to check with the owner. The owner then came out, without introducing himself, and spoke to me in an irate manner. He explained that if I were to let someone into the gym after hours, they would need my credit card to charge me directly, since they couldn't bill my insurance company. This, he said, was stated in their contract. I asked to read the contract, but instead of providing it, he told me, "It's not going to work out," and asked me to leave. I've never experienced such hostility in any interaction before.

The manager had misrepresented the price two days earlier, but the two other employees had just done so and yet, as if turning on a dime, were all of sudden insisting that the day pass is $15. Well, they didn't get the $15 plus tax, and the business did not get the revenue from an ongoing membership. Pettiness and a habit of lying may be expedient, but the toxic mentality will one day result in customers going to competitors because no one enjoys being that disrespected as to be blatantly lied to. Such a business should go out of business. I would not trust that business with credit-card information.

I consider a couple of other gyms and had planned to spend a day visiting them, but Coastal was my first and last stop lol. I was very impressed with the facility not only how clean it was, but also very well organized and laid out sensibly and updated well maintained equipment. Very happy with my new gym! This gym was good until they started charging my card twice for personal training. My card was…read morecharged twice by the gym in one week, and when I said something team member, Jordan, said that he had issued me a refund. A week later I still had not received my refund and ask to speak to the GM and he ensured me he would bypass my next charge and speak to corporate to get the issue resolved. Days go by and it's time for my next personal training bill to come out which should have been bypassed as a product of them double charging me but instead they still tried to charge me double yet again. Very disappointing because I liked the gym but when a company is being inconsiderate of my money i can no longer trust them to have access to my funds. Imagine having to pay bills but you come up short because your gym is charging you twice. Very frustrating experience so Just to those in the future who plan on spending their money with this gym. Also after cancelling my membership the "GM" told me that there is no actual corporate and that he only has his bosses personal number when I asked for the number to complain to corporate.
