My iPhone 8 had problems with charging for the past three months. As of last month, it took close to 10 minutes to find the right angle to get the phone to charge into the port. This is annoying when I have to charge my phone up to two times per day. Finally, I was unable to successfully get the phone to charge and it died. I came over to the store and Yama greeted me immediately. I told him my issues and he immediately addressed them. He used an air blaster and turns out it was a ton of lint that packed into the port blocking the charging cable. He handed me the phone and stated in confidence that the phone should charge - no issues. He handed me the phone. Asked me how much is due - nothing. What, free? I come home and almost immediately the phone is charging like new. Well... I should have got this fixed sooner. Too bad I'm not local, but if I ever am in the area, I'm getting my phone fixed here. Dropped in at opening yesterday for a quick emergency repair before needing my phone all week. Desperately didn't want to have to buy a new phone but my screen was on the fritz. I actually arrived early due to an error on my point and they arrived and let me in about 10 minutes before opening. I am not given to superlatives but this guy is simply sensational. I sent came here with cracked my iphone 8 screen (1st one ever for me after a decade of iphones) and it was repaired as promised within about 15 minutes. However I made the mistake of going with the aftermarket glass (more on that later) and quickly realized that it was unacceptably inferior to Apple OEM glass. So I returned after a week and he only upgraded my screen to OEM glass without any complaint. The phone is as good as new and I didn't have to spend hours (or days) waiting for service at an Apple store. I compared about 6 shops in the East Bay and found this one was the best. If you are quoted a lower price elsewhere beware as you will get the vastly inferior aftermarket glass which is several shades darker and has inferior touch. Trust me - use only OEM glass. read more

I took my iPhone 7+ in to the Apple Store in Walnut Creek to try and get the battery replaced. After waiting around for 3 hours, I was told they couldn't replace the battery because of a stripped screw. Disappointed, I passed this place and figured I'd ask to see if he could replace the battery for me. Sure enough, the Apple store was lying to me. No stripped screws. I left 5 minutes after arriving with a new battery that's working fantastic so far. Don't waste your time at the Apple store for repairs. read more

I had an issue with my headphones jack. Originally I thought it would be an easy fix to switch to Bluetooth earphones. 3 hours later Bluetooth doesn't work due to a headphone piece stuck in the jack. Apple phone service / YouTube videos nothing works. BestBuy quotes me a price that is half the price of an iPad!!! I walk into iRepair. He takes a look at it. He grabs a couple of tools. I visited this place earlier today to replace my cracked screen and aging battery (iPhone 7 bought release day, original battery). Pros: Fast (less than 10 minutes), offers choice between generic screen or OEM screen, didn't try to sell a service he though was unnecessary Cons: I was told that replacing my battery would not extend battery life and my issue was Apple's throttling and updates. I happen to know a bit about electronics and lithium-ion batteries, and it's just a simple fact that batteries degrade over time and heavy usage. Instead of insisting he replace the battery, I decided to get just the screen replacement and get a second opinion elsewhere. I understand throttling was a controversial issue a while back, but to blame it all on that without seemingly knowing the basics of batteries doesn't give me confidence. On the plus side, I found a great place nearby who not only replaced my battery but fixed an issue where the casing wasn't closing properly. The screen seems to work perfectly, so I have no complaints about that. However, I will not be returning here for any further repairs. read more
