No one should HAVE to go to a neurologist. But, for those like me, where it's medically a necessity, this is the man to see. I'll admit, I'm a snob when it comes to medicine. It's a field I've dedicated my career and it's a field I take serious. I only choose those who are superior in their field. Not only does Dr. Kao know a lot about a lot of things, not only is he a researcher who is abreast of all the new therapies, not only does he have a compassionate bedside manner and talk to you, he's just a nice kind man all around. He's a genuine man, who even visits you bedside in the hospital, he guides your care, and is aggressive and thorough with treatment. He doesn't half any thing. He gives you his all. He even does the nerve conduction test (EMG) himself to ensure accuracy. When I was first told to come to him, I bubble snotty begged him to help me not get to the extreme. His response, "I won't. We'll do this together". His staff is great. Molly, the head nurse? Love, Love. I'm a busy person and she is diligent with the Follow-up. She ensures you don't skip through the crack regardless how busy you get. The front desk staff?? Love again. They even have an app to communicate your health status. I honestly don't want to recommend anyone to come to him. I've very possessive about him and honestly want to keep him to myself. He's literally the best kept secret. But, if you do need a neurologist, I MIGHT let you borrow mine. I MIGHT... no promises.

He acts instead like he's either burned out as a doctor or too depressed to care. He seems annoyed if you ask questions and doesn't try to get to know you or your condition. No smiles, no expression, no empathy. After a painful nerve test which he administered, I had to come back in 3 weeks for the results even though the results were ready in a few minutes. At the next appointment he said I had neuropathy but had no idea why. I already knew that. He suggested an obscure blood test which he said wouldn't show anything, then abruptly left the room. End of appointment - no goodbyes, no words at all. What a waste of time and an overall unpleasant experience! Stay away from this man!

Dr Singh and his staff was response and he had both discussions and referrals to various tests to check if there were any underlying issues. Fortunately, none but it was reassuring to hear from him and his colleague on the results. I was impressed that his report was issued that same afternoon. I would definitely recommend him.

The big offices just gave me the "next available" appointment, which was several months away. Dr Katz's office is small, so Dr Katz himself looked at my referral and saw me quickly. My recommendation to new patients: hold your questions. Let Dr Katz ask all of his questions. Answer them clearly, but briefly. He has a method to figure out your vision problem, but follow his lead. I still had questions at the end of my appointment and Dr Katz patiently answered all of them. Tip #2: when you go to the exam room, sit in the "patient" chair if you're the patient. Good luck if you're seeing neuro-opthamology, but you're in good hands with Dr Katz.

He refused to write a simple biopsy referral for me and suggested that the root of 20% of neuropathy cases cannot be known. Instead, he was happy to prescribe medication to treat the pain, not the root cause of the problem. Ultimately, I asked another specialist to write a referral for me. I would say avoid going to him. It's not worth the headache.

When I requested to have my test results sent to me I was asked to pay another fee of $25 for handling and $5 for something else. I work in the medical field and know I have the right to have my test results given to me without paying for them. I also own a medical practice and know there is no handling involved that costs $25.
