So when I needed to get a haircut for some occasion I tried 40 One East Salon & Spa. This was a good four or five years ago and I've been going there exclusively ever since. I was there today, every stylist I've had has always listened to what I wanted done...or maybe more important what I didn't want done. When I sat down she asked what we were doing today, the first thing out of my mouth is that I didn't want to look like my father. And she understood. I kid with them that they'll never get rich off of me, I only get my hair cut twice a year. But you know, I'm always made to feel welcome and that they are happy to see me. I still hate getting my hair cut but I certainly don't mind visiting 40 One Salon!

It lovely to be taken care of in such an attractive place. I loved the bay windows and the space the gigantic floor plan allowed the operators to spread out. There's nobody on either side of you which makes for an enjoyably serene experience. Jill cut, colored and blew out my very thick hair. It's not easy to manage my mop but she figured out how to do it plus the coloring job was absolutely terrific. I will definitely go back. In fact, had it not been for their Groupon Promotion I may not have gone there at all. But now I'm happy and I look 10 years younger than when I walked into those purple doors. My thanks goes out to Jill for her perseverance!

But another customer was coming in and showed me the way which was great. The salon definitely has a wonderful family welcoming environment. Holly did my blow out and she was so lovely. The Worst Pedicure Experience of My Life -- Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Completely Unacceptable…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. I went to TNT Nails yesterday for a simple pedicure and left with a bleeding toe, pain, and utter disbelief at how shockingly unprofessional and unsafe the experience was. From the moment I sat down, the technician was rude -- no greeting, no eye contact, no questions about what I wanted. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. Then things went from bad to downright horrifying. While trimming my nails, the technician cut into my skin and caused bleeding. I could see the blood, I could feel the pain -- and yet she tried to deny it ever happened and cover it up. Instead of apologizing or providing proper care, she reached for a random bottle of pedicure chemical and tried to apply it directly into the open wound -- without telling me what it was. I politely but firmly asked for a clean tissue and a bandaid. She gave me neither. Instead, she reached for a bottle of unknown white powder and tried to apply it to the wound -- again, without answering what it was, even after I asked repeatedly. I had to pull my foot back to stop her from putting more unknown substances into a fresh wound. When I asked for the manager, a young woman came who barely spoke English. Then a young man eventually came -- finally someone I could speak to -- only to try to apply the same powder again and hand me some kitchen wipes. No sterile bandage. No antiseptic. Not even a basic apology. I told him I couldn't continue and needed to leave. He said "okay," and that was it. No apology. No concern. Nothing. This place is not only rude and careless -- it is UNSAFE. They handled an open wound with mystery products and zero hygiene standards. If you value your health, stay far away from TNT.

I've been to nail salons my whole life and have never experienced an issue like this. She did things so quick and rough that were so painful. I've honestly never experienced anything close to that level of pain during filing/cutting. I work with patients and, in medicine, that level of carelessness/roughness would be considered abusive. She spent 30 mins rushing through a full gel set w/ tips while ranting about the fact that my nails are too short (yes, stress, but please don't make me feel worse). After she finished the set and told me to pick a color, I said I'd "paint them at home" because they were so uneven. The other patrons were watching the interaction with puzzled/concerned looks and the staff didn't do anything to intervene. I'm just completely shocked.
