The walls were covered with the art of approximately 20 different artist in many different mediums. From photo to photo-realism, pontilism and ceramics, there were so many different styles offered. One of the most unique ones I remember is the woman who painted with invisible (black light visible) ink. For the most part the paintings looked one way, but if you shined a black light on them, they came to life with another dimension. Yes, I made a purchase, a pen and ink drawing, simple pointillisim work on white. Absolutely stunning and very inexpensive.

We stopped in during the St Pete 2nd Saturday Art Walk, which is really a MUST DO event. So many great galleries and shops to see in so many interesting neighborhoods. We parked by this gallery and stopped in on our way to Central Ave. They had pro sports team art by a local artist and some nice Carlton Ward photographs upstairs. He's a National Geographic photographer and has particpated in the missions up through Central Florida to highkight the areas natural features and advocate for conservation. Very friendly and helpful lady working at the gallery. They had a vintage early 70s pinball machine for sale that they let us play. :) All good.

It's a great spot. They also have classes for art here. The art projects/classes are for the kids, as well as camps. They appear to be free also, but u Have to sign up. That's a great way to get some activities for the kiddos. These are held on Saturdays. They also have a Morean Art of Clay, Glass, and The Chihuly Collection. Those are separate locations. The Chihuly has a fee, and I'm not sure about the Clay and Glass. I still have I check those out. But there's so much art in St. Pete, & I sure love it! This Morean Art Center also has a gift shop so perhaps you can find something you would like to buy here also.

I then called the number listed in Yelp and there was no answer. Shortly after I then received a text message from the owner saying she was helping a customer and could not answer the phone and she would call me back later. I was pleasantly surprised that she called and reached out to me to provide the new address. After receiving the new location I immediately headed there. I was a little apprehensive when I arrived because it was in a strip mall. However do not let the location fool you. This art gallery is a gem. I was intrigued with all the beautiful art, clothing and accessories that it has to offer. I ended up purchasing a beautiful piece of artwork from a local artist in the area at Gallerie 909 and I am very pleased with this purchase as well as the owner being very helpful with the process. I will continue to support this business and also feel I have made a great connection with the people I have meet here. Gallerie 909 is a great atmosphere and great people. Job well done.

We weren't really there to buy anything. Just walking around. Whether you are into "water-pipes" or not, it's worth walking into the store and taking a look around. Some of the glass work they have is stunning! I would have liked to be able to touch some of the stuff to get a better look in the light, but everything is locked up pretty tight. I totally get why and I'm sure there would be a lot of broken stuff if it wasn't locked up, so I get it. We ended up not buying but enjoyed looking around and admiring some of the artwork. And "water-pipes."

Her art is unforgettable, elegant, wonderful and thoughtful. If I had the means, I would fill my home with art by June Harben. I would tell the world about her. I would invite everyone interested in art to come and view her work and the works of the other fine artists featured at Gallery 1356. This place has so enriched our lives and our community.
