Wednesday I worked my last shift, and Friday I had my LASIK surgery done. I certainly am happy with the decision to go through with it. The entire process was smooth and easy, and the people at this location were absolutely excellent. As a 57 year-old, I was a little concerned that these old eyes could cause issues, but it seems like my age was not a major concern. I dealt mostly with Alyssa and Adriana (hope that's how they are spelled) and they were professional, but also caring and supportive. The time spent with Dr. Nagy was very brief, but he, and everyone else, was careful to make sure that I had no unanswered questions or concerns. The procedure itself was a little stressful for me - I get a little squeamish - but I was provided a gentle sedative, which helped out. There was some mild discomfort during the procedure, but it was brief. The rest of the day there was only a very mild level of dryness and very slight stinging in my eyes. The next day (today) there is no pain at all, and my vision is 20/20! I am only 30 hours into my new correction-free life, and looking forward to things like backpacking and sailing without having to worry about either glasses or contact lenses!

You walk up to the front to get registered and then you wait for your name to be called in for a quick eye pressure test and exam. Then you go back out and wait for your name to be called. Dr. Yu has two offices. I ended up going to the Coquitlam office because of the day of my appointment and follow-up. Dr. Yu is very knowledgeable and he solved my problem after seeing him. Note that you do need a referral to see Dr. Yu.

Instead, he made several racist statements, and said that I was wrong in what had happened to me. DO NOT come here if you can help it. The receptionist needs to learn what professionalism means, and the on call doctor (that I had), made me feel so uncomfortable and terrible about myself. I left not even knowing if my eye injury was all better, and NEVER coming here again. The only hindsight was the assistant, she seriously needs a raise.

The first time I went to FHE Andrew got it right as I get new lenses every 2 years. I am writing a review this 3rd time because his latest Varilux XR lenses he did for me are just over the top perfect. For the first time with progressive lenses I can see to the full width of my frames, computer viewing is more than just a hair's depth, I don't have to turn my head to see full width of screen, and reading no longer requires my head to bent uncomfortably upwards to see only through the bottom 1/4" of my glasses.
