So everybody hates moving. I know that personally I'd rather have a root canal than move. That and it is so freaking expensive. These guys are top notch. Jerome calls the day before just to check in and confirm the time. He and Kevin showed up on time and got right to work. They protected the hardwood floors and rails, wrapped the door jambs and really took care of the house. They shrink wrap all of the furniture with the moving blankets we rented from Penske and protect them in the truck as well. Jerome played Tetris a lot as a kid, because our Penske truck is packed very well. We were moved into this house by United and those movers have nothing whatsoever on Jerome and Kevin. Looks like I jumped the gun on the reviews for this company. I wholeheartedly recommended this company for my little sister's move out of town, and they let us down in a BIG way. First off, we scheduled for an 8 am load and move. After 8:30 am and still no call no show, we contacted Jerome (from the card from our previous experience). Phone gets picked up, then promptly hung up. Maybe it was a dropped call. Tried three more times, all hangups. Shannon (second name on the card) refused to pick up his phone. After 9 am, we call HQ, and they inform us that they dropped the ball. The guys called off, and they did not contact us to cancel or schedule another crew to fulfill the schedule. We ended up having to work with another company last minute at double the cost. At least they did the job well. At this point, I would not recommend Iron-Back to anyone. They were Johnny-on-the-spot last time, but they failed completely and made my recommendation total BS. I prefer to stand by my word, and they let me down. Review from first experience: Called the same day, said they'd be over in about an hour and still arrived early. Unloaded a 15 foot uhaul to a third floor apartment in 35 minutes with no damage. Hard to put into words what an awful experience we had with this moving company. I'm not the type of person to write bad reviews of a business, but this experience was so shocking, I feel compelled to share it with others. In the week between booking the move, right up until the morning of the move, Shannon kept notifying us of random changes to our agreement, including the price of the job, our time slot, truck size, etc. The morning of the job, Shannon called to notify me that they didn't have the truck available after all and we would have to pay extra for them to go rent a truck! We were forced to move forward with them, considering the last-minute timing. The most shocking part of the experience was when they complained that we were asking them to move too many things, even though we had discussed an hourly arrangement to accommodate our need for flexibility. After unbelievably frustrating exchanges with Shannon, the movers (Jerome) literally demanded payment from my 71-year-old father halfway through the job and abandoned the project, leaving him high and dry. They even left pieces of his furniture in the hallway of his apartment building when they left! They screamed so loud at him that neighbors came to check and see what was going on. Additionally, they lied multiple times about circumstances that occurred during that day. My gut instinct is that they totally overbooked themselves and then we payed the consequence as they tried to rush through the job and couldn't finish it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a different company. Save yourself the headache and frustration of dealing with this unprofessional company. It's not worth it! read more

My experience was more in line with Julia B's, to my surprise. They showed up 3.5 hours late, and I was notified of their status only by text message, which I found to be really odd and unprofessional, which turned out to be a pretty typical theme for the day. When they did show up, it was without the 26' truck that was promised, instead they had a rented 17' uhaul and a uhaul trailer. They had me sign a hand-written agreement including their rate for hours worked and options for insurance coverage, and got started. All went well enough until we got the new property. It was a 15 mile drive and they arrived 30 minutes after I did. I honestly did not have a problem with this as it pertained to their hourly rate; who really cares about $35 in comparison to all of my worldly possessions... I was worried that they'd broken down on the highway, or something had flown off the trailer, and I had no way to reach them. Anyways, after waiting 25 mins I called their office requesting that they check in with the team for an ETA, and was replied to again only via text message (super odd) and was told they'd arrive soon, and they did. Upon arrival Jerome switched right into intimidation mode (apparently thinking I was trying to dock them 1/2 hour of pay), "Do we have a problem here??", threatened my belongings, said I should just be appreciative that they've moved my things, ... Uh okay. I was really shocked by what was an insanely disproportionate response, and concerned, had my wife get her and the dogs away from the house to be safe, and just wanted them the F out of there (even now I'm concerned with reprisal for writing this). The only reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is that in the end they got the job done at a good price, in under the estimated time, with only the most minor damage to belongings - Which is really the whole goal, but holy s%&t. These guys didn't show up. I set up 1 mover to help me for this past Friday Aug. 26th at 4 pm. I called Jerome & left a text at 4:30pm with no response. I also texted & called Shannon who I was directed to call on Jerome's voicemail. I had to call friends to help me move last minute. I live on a 3rd floor apartment & was trying not to utilize my friends bc I didn't want anyone hurt in the process as I do have bulky, heavy furniture. Luckily no one was hurt, but the walls of my apartment stairs were damaged some bc I did not have professional people. I wanted to write a review on my experience with Iron-Back Movers Denver. My wife and I were moving from Lakewood to the mountains in Evergreen and we needed help with the move. I was looking for a three person crew on Moving Help's website when I came across Iron-Back Movers Denver. I was hesitant to choose them because there were no reviews for the company, but they had a single 5 star review on Yelp, so I decided to take a chance. I could not be happier with my decision! The owner Jerome contacted me within the hour to verify the moving locations, what needed to be moved, and the time we needed to start. The day of the move Jerome and his crew (Ralph and Jason) promptly showed up. I found out then that the lack of reviews on Moving Help was because this was a new business and I was their first Moving Help customer. Jerome worked for 15 years for large moving companies and decided to go out on his own. Iron-Back Movers Denver carefully wrapped all our furniture and moved it as if it was their own. They could not have been more professional, and more importantly they were a great group of guys who made the move fun. When we got the new house, the moving truck that I rented could not back down the driveway because it was too steep. I was worried what we would do, and Jerome simply said "Okay, we will just park the truck on the road and carry everything down from there". This is our third time hiring movers in the past year and this was by far the best crew we had. All our stuff arrived in the same condition that it was in before the move. Hired these guys to move from my 3rd floor (more like 4th floor) condo into another 3rd floor condo. Extremely satisfied with the quality of service and punctuality. They were able to finish the job within a very reasonable amount of time. Much better price than the other quotes I received. Do Not Trust This Company!!!! Extremely Unreliable And Unapologetic!!!! We made and appointment in advance. They did not show and would not answer their phone to offer an explanation. I realize that mistakes are made in scheduling and would have understood if they had to reschedule, however, they did not call. Moving is stressful enough without this sort of unprofessional behavior making it more complicated. You would think a moving company would understand that. Set up an appointment through the U-Haul site. They told me I would hear from the company within 24 hours to set up the details. If not I should call the company myself. When I didn't hear from them, I called. The person who answered the phone was immediately rude. Yelling at me for contacting them when my service wasn't requested for another week and a half. Every time I tried to talk, he yelled at me again saying I was being confrontational. I finally told him to cancel my appointment, even though I never had the chance to tell him my appointment information. These guys are great. Jerome was willing to work with my schedule to fit me in for an off load in Denver with just a few days notice. Confirmed with me a number of times, which is very reassuring since my original company backed out the night before my move from San Diego. Iron-Back movers showed up on time, worked incredibly hard, took direction really well without getting frustrated and were very personable. They even took care of my car carrier and got the truck and carrier ready for return. I will definitely be using them again for future local moves when I need movers. Definitely the worst company I've ever had to deal with. Booked them for a move @ 1 called Shannon at 1245 to make sure they were on schedule, no answer I waited for 6 hours for them to show up calling every 30 minutes and never got an answer or a call back. They ended up just never showing up or calling me to tell me what was going on. I had to scramble to find a new moving company last minute and was up all night moving myself. These guys are a joke. Im very disappointed that I hired this company. I had an appointment for them to come move a 300 lb safe down 1 flight of stairs for $200 and they did not show. I called them many times and finally got ahold of them 2 hrs after the original scheduled appointment time. That was Thursday and we rescheduled the move to Saturday morning since they were not able to make it out that day. It has been 8 hrs since the rescheduled appointment time and I called them 4-5 times without any answer or call back. Their rates are not only very affordable but they were exactly what they quoted me from the first time we spoke. What a nightmare. If I could give negative stars, I would give minus 10. These guys are either mentally unstable or have a drug problem. Stay as far away from them as you can. The story.... Jerome and David showed up on time, started loading the container that went to CA and the Hertz truck that went to the storage facility. I would come outside and sometimes they were goofing off, but mostly they did a great job - at the beginning. They did a great job wrapping furniture, stacking boxes to the ceiling of the container, etc. We headed to the storage unit to unload the truck there. However, after several hours of unloading to the storage locker, Jerome started getting testy, so I just stayed away from him. We headed back to the house to finish loading the container, and they stopped on the way for a dinner break. I wonder what they had done on their "dinner break", because their attitude changed after that. That's when this started going badly. I was in the house packing, came out to check on the container loading, and they had done a horrible job. Things were not packed well, lots of wasted space at the top of the container, furniture hadn't been wrapped, things were packed loosely and would have been damaged in transit. When I mentioned that the load was not well packed, Jerome became unhinged. He told me that "he did not have to put up with this", told me he was leaving, and told David, his helper, to "invoice me out". I was pissed; all day loading, and they not only did a terrible job loading the container, but were not done - several large pieces of furniture and boxes still to go it. I swore under my breath as I walked into my kitchen. David heard me (he was behind me), and the next thing I know, Jerome was in my face accusing me of cussing David out. I guess one is not allowed to swear around these guys, they are so sensitive.... Then we started settling the bill; Jerome quoted me a high price. My son and I (he's a college student) pointed out that his math was wrong, and told him what the right amount should be. He argued, getting madder and madder - he accused me of trying to cheat him. He probably was embarrassed that he did not have basic math skills. I paid him in cash, and told him I needed a receipt. He told me he would give me one, then as soon as he had the cash in hand, told me that he would not give me one. They started walking out of the house, with me coming after them telling them I needed a receipt., Jerome got madder, and told David to start taking stuff out of my garage to their truck. They both grabbed boxes and headed to their truck, taking my stuff. I got there ahead of them and got in the drivers seat so they could not leave with it. That's when lots of yelling and shoving started (them trying to shove me out of their truck, me trying to get my stuff back from them). Jerome started filming on his phone, telling me that he was going to call the police and I was going to be in deep trouble. I was so pissed that I kicked his sad old trashed out truck; with my flipflops on, I'm sure I did a lot of damage. We went inside; they called the cops. Two very nice officers showed up. They talked to Jerome and David, then to me and my son. They told Jerome that if anyone was going to get charged with anything, we all would be charged with disturbing the peace. Jerome showed them the video he took, which included him calling me a b****h. That really impressed the cops. Jerome and David decided to leave. The cops ended up apologizing to my son and I that we had to put up with the "s**t show" of Jerome and his partner, that they thought they were at fault, and advised me to get professional movers next time (good idea!). I asked them to keep an eye on my house in case they came back. So, I wonder: how is it that these guys have 5-star reviews? do they get people to write them good reviews? I sure wont be using Yelp again after this experience, other than to warn people to stay away from these guys. read more

I CANNOT speak highly enough of Iron Back. These guys turned what I thought would be a 3 hour job into a 30 min breeze. They moved a 900lb safe like it was nothing and were very gentle with it and loaded it in my trailer easily. I live right downtown off Speer in a very busy spot and they navigated my large, heavy and fragile stuff with no problem. They were right on time, fast, careful, and professional. I highly recommended them and would hire them again without a thought. They got me in on short notice and for an excellent price that I was very happy to pay based on how good the service was. These guys are great! And sweet! I called on a Friday afternoon to see if I could arrange an "unload only" on Sunday in Denver. Jerome was so accommodating and eager to help me out. He made what was a scary adventure into peace of mind. The guys arrived and, after introducing themselves, rolled out protective carpet and bumpers, and before I knew it, the whole truck was unloaded and things placed exactly where I wanted them, including a giant log dining room table and a portable baby grand piano. I was in the Air Force and moved around, so I've had a lot of experience with movers. These guys are the worst, hands down. It was like an SNL skit. I've read through their other negative reviews and just nodded. I won't go into all the details because I don't have that kind of time. Here are just a few specifics. They called during the week to change the deal and add fees because they had not planned correctly. They moved two extra couches and a love seat (had pre-arranged that they would move a few extras) and then tried to add a fee claiming we had added an entire house without telling them (The guys were here an hour and were able to move an entire house - those are magic movers). They started friendly enough, but got nasty over the course of the job (Jerome stomped around mumbling and complaining - it was like dealing with my kids when they were young). There are way too many movers around for you to waste your time and money on these folks. read more
