Ron was very accommodating with a difficult move from the 3rd to 4th floor with no elevator in either building. He was available over the phone to answer my questions throughout the process and called to confirm the appointment the night before. Diego and Jamar arrived on time and were very friendly and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently and were able to move my bedroom set, kitchen set, and living room furniture from point A to point B in only 2 hours. Since I had already purchased the Groupon with the 4 hour minimum, they were happy to go back to point A and move some additional boxes and items that I was planning on moving myself. Overall, I had a great moving experience with Abe Lincoln Movers. I was a little nervous due to some poor reviews I had read; however, I had no issues at all and everything went perfectly with my move. I would definitely use this moving company again in the future and highly recommend them to others. read more

They repeatedly refused to follow my instructions during the move, and it created a very frustrating experience. One example was with an item that I specifically explained should not be placed a certain way because it does not stand on its own. I was told they were just going to pile everything inside the wall area anyway instead of doing what I asked. Another issue was in the garage. They began stacking boxes and tubes from floor to ceiling and decided to put about half of my belongings in the garage because they felt there was not enough room in the house. There was plenty of room inside, but they continued arguing with me instead of following my directions. It felt like they were rushing to leave. One of the workers mentioned he had another job to get to at 8:00. At the beginning of unloading, I specifically pointed out where certain items needed to go and explained why, but they ignored those instructions. Later they became upset when they had to move things again. When it was time to pay, I had already been sent a payment link. One worker insisted I had to call someone else and pay differently. During that discussion, the other worker was inside the house. My sister mentioned he had been upstairs in my office area for quite a while. Before the movers arrived, I had moved my money to a more secure location. Afterward, I checked my purse and discovered cash was missing, and random items had been placed inside it. They denied taking anything, but at that point I asked them to leave. Overall, I was very unhappy with the experience and would not use this company again. read more

They arrived an hour late with patchy communication--we weren't sure if anyone was even on the way or if we'd have to last minute schedule another provider until we heard from the movers themselves about 45 minutes past the scheduled time. The foreman was communicative but said he hadn't heard from his movers and had no idea where they were, which was concerning. On opening the pod at our destination we found that a significant number of our belongings were destroyed, broken, or damaged. Not just scrapes and bumps either, our wooden entertainment console was in chunks and pieces (it's completely unusable and trash now), many plates were smashed despite being packed in bubble wrap (because boxes marked FRAGILE were packed on the bottom), ceramics were pulverized, the headboard has a chunk missing, metal filing cabinet crushed, shelves scratched beyond repair, etc. The movers unpacking the pod said it was the worst packing job they had ever seen, and took many pictures to document the damage because they did not want to be liable. We also provided blankets and other packing materials to prevent damage like this. read more

They took extra care of our home by taking doors off and protected the floor. They moved a endless amount of heavy items upstairs without any complaints. Moving is one of the most stressful things a person can do. I've used Abe Lincoln movers twice now. Both times I was able to use a Groupon to help with the cost. Both times I had incredible service and was able to get the professional help I needed at a price I could afford. With Abe Lincoln Movers there are no hidden costs or fees! They don't hit you with surprise charges at the end of a long day of moving. I knew what my hourly price was and that's what I paid. They even offer a discount for paying cash. The guys I had on my most recent move, Troy and Sterling were polite, professional and super hard workers! Even when I misjudged how much stuff I had and we had to make two trips these guys worked tirelessly way into the night after working all day in 100° heat. They maintained their professional demeanor and can-do attitudes! I highly recommend using their services! I was told that they would fix it; however, even after multiple calls and reminder with the owner of the company, they never fixed my table as promised. Honest? Laughable. First, they showed up late. They pretty much decided what they were going to pack and what was being left. They started with random boxes that I could have transported separately and didn't leave room for the furniture in my POD. When they were supposedly done they hadn't packed multiple pieces of furniture including my couches, kitchen table, living room chairs (even though they packed the cushions), and various other things. When I was surprised it was essentially sorry we're out of time. They were absolutely taking advantage of the fact that I was a woman alone with a small child so they could push me around. When they came up with the total, they calculated it from the time they were supposed to get there and added an extra half hour because they had worked 15 minutes past the scheduled end time. Great movers, pretty ok owner. Handled calls professionally up to move. Day of move we had a small miscommunication whereby I misheard time of arrival. I called back at 915 to get a time (apparently they'd already told me). They act like I'm an idiot for not knowing what they said. I say I didn't hear a time. We hang up. Owner calls and is defensive AF and tells me 4 people ""heard him say 9:15." Ok dude. It wasn't a big deal. If I was wrong, I was wrong, but to call me aggressively was weird and petty. The movers themselves were awesome: Diego and Louis. They handled my stuff with care. They managed to fit everything into the POD, which I totally didn't expect. Looks like I'm not alone... Ron was very nice at first when setting up an appointment, and his guys were nice, too - however - they were 90 minutes late and extremely slow. I actually ended up moving large pieces along with them for the last hour at my previous residence because they were taking such a long time. I've been through a few moves and usually, the guys are running to the truck to make the most of your money and time. One of the movers basically demanded a tip, and they were in such a hurry to get to the credit union to cash my check that they left all of their paperwork behind - which I would guess, makes any of our "agreement" null and void since they don't have anything signed from me. I found out later some of my items were not moved, and I had to buy new items to replace what Ron and his team had lost. After three months of trying to get a response of any kind from owner Ron Ferguson, I basically gave up. It was a small request - a $60 credit for a few bar stools his movers lost (when I paid $800 + tip) - and as a small business owner myself, I would expect much better customer service (not just before they get paid). He was recommended by a friend, and so I am hugely disappointed, and just want to make sure any of you looking for a mover know to go elsewhere. There are many other options in Denver for you that would do a much better job and take better care of their customers. read more

I have moved a number of times in my life and I cannot say enough about how amazing this company was to me. I had 10 days in between houses so I needed to use a pod, I was terrified that all my items would not fit and they continued to reassure me that they knew what they were doing and that everything would fit and not be damaged. All of my items arrived in perfect condition as a result! I moved from a 4 level town home and not once did they complain about my stairs. EVERY delivery person that has ever been in that house has whined about the stairs...the last movers looked visibly ill when they saw what they would be tasked with. This company, not a word. I have used Abe Lincoln movers twice in the past, they were great - wrapped my stuff, were careful and efficient. Third time NOT the same experience! Lots of dropped boxes (luckily I packed my vases well!), broke/damaged a lot of my belongings including my 50" flat screen TV, an antique bookshelf (destroyed), scratches and marks on numerous items. I have reached out to Ron via text and calls several times - nothing - not even an apology. I provided lunch and tips and not even the courtesy of a reply. Sadly will NEVER use them again! I was faced with the dilemma of moving for the first time in 15 years. I was referred to many different moving companies but after many phone calls and much research online, I decided to go with Abe Lincoln Movers & Storage. Not only did they offer an amazing deal on Groupon, they also came highly recommended by other people who left positive reviews. Ron, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone to arrange everything, kept in contact with regarding the move (he called the day before to confirm and even found an earlier time for me). On the day of the move, two gentlemen by the names of Mike and Jamal arrived on time and began work immediately. My roommate and I had boxed up most of the home and our valuables. Mike and Jamal moved quickly and professionally to move the heavy furniture, etc. Not only were they professional, clean, and courteous, they were very respectful of our property and the home itself. They did not waste time and they loaded the truck within an hour or so..... They drove to our new place and unloaded the truck very quickly and placed the boxes and furniture in the designated rooms and provided the same level of respect to the new home. I'd highly recommended this company and when the times comes to move in the future, I will use them again! read more

Worst experience with movers ever. We sold our home and we needed to move out so I contacted Strong Arm movers and scheduled for movers to come out and load pods up. Abe Lincoln was the company sent out to provide movers. There were 2 guys that came out to my home and started to work. I kept noticing that only one of the workers was working while the other kept going downstairs. It was not until little whole later when I was taking my pool table apart and needed some tools from my garage did I notice why the other mover kept going downstairs and leaving the other guy upstairs as his lookout. I had a brand new rackets set and a new wrench set that I knew exactly where I left them in my garage and when I went to get them they were not there. I became suspicious and my brother in law and I did some investigation into it. When both movers were upstairs we looked into the drivers window of their grey truck and we saw in plain view my complete racket set in the blue case that the mover had stolen and put in his truck. I was furious and I contacted Ron from Abe Lincoln and he said he was on the way to my home and he advised me to not confront the movers until he got there and out the tools. Short time after Ron arrived at my home with a lady. They lady got her phone out and started recording the whole thing. Ron called the mover out and confronted him about why my tools were in their truck. The mover said I borrowed them to tighten dolly wheels. Funny answer. Then we were looked for my unopened wrench set and the mover said oh those are.in the back of the box truck. We went to the back and they were hidden under blankets. The owner called different guys to come out and finish the move and he sent the original ones on their way. You never know who you can trust. You call a "professional " company and theirs come out and steal from you. The movers were so careless in loading the pods that when we unloaded the pods we found several items of furniture badly damaged by the movers from Abe Lincoln and even out custom glass table cover broken. I sent photos as requested to owners and the are refusing to respond to me. They are playing silent game hoping the issue goes away. Big surprise is this problem will not go away. In fact the problem is about to get a lot worse for Abe Lincoln and we have been discussing the whole situation with a lawyer and we are going to pursue this to the end. My hopes is that the company and owner get exposed for having thieves working for them as well as being exposed for being careless and reckless with peoples belongings. read more

I am reminded every day, 3 years later, of what a terrible job Abe Lincoln Movers did protecting my belongings. I have finally decided to write a review all this time later because I am still discouraged by all the damage I still see every single day. Now I see that there a good many poor reviews. The movers were friendly but they arrived with no supplies to wrap my furniture. The movers called Ron and he asked if I could go pick up plastic wrap as he was busy on another job. I couldn't, I was trying to manage three movers who were packing the truck even without enough blankets and supplies. I had a good number of blankets of my own and so they started using my supplies. Rob arrived well into the packing of the truck and still did not have enough protective supplies. One thing I can say is that they were fast...which ended up being bad because fast meant that they were not careful. Once the movers arrived at the new location, I bought them lunch, ....again, they were nice guys, I was trying to stay positive.... but then I started to see a number of problems with my furniture. They had stacked items on top of antique wood pieces that I thought they had wrapped. There were gouges and scrapes. There were tears in fabric. This was when they said "we didn't do that". There was even blood on fabric on my furniture and on boxes and again, they said they didn't do it. I called Ron and he said to let the guys bring the pieces back with them and he would take care of them. After this experience, I decided not to let them leave with my belongings because I had no idea where they would end up. And yes, I could have purchased extra insurance but all of the damage was to antique items that ultimately could not ever be repaired without completely refinishing the pieces. Abe Lincoln movers came recommended by friends who had used them but there are enough reviews here to indicate that if you're moving..... beware. read more

I decided to use Abe Lincoln Movers after one of my neighbors recommended them. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. I was moving from a one-bedroom apartment in Denver to Thornton. The move included the pickup in Denver and two stops in Thornton, one at a single-family home and one at a storage unit 0.4 miles from there. The total move from a one-bedroom apartment took an unbelievable 8 hours, twice what the owner had estimated the first time he and I spoke. When the crew had arrived, I had everything packed in boxes except for a couple pictures and the furniture. Having lived at that apartment, I am aware of the difficulties of navigating the secure front entrance and the elevators. It was ridiculous that the crew complained about the elevator doors closing too quickly. If one were to place an object (like a box) in the doorway, the doors would be prevented from closing. In addition, I found it off-putting that one of the crew members complained about working on a national holiday when he was not getting paid time and a half. Apparently, the crew decided to make up for the lack of holiday pay by prolonging the move. Even more disturbing was the handling of my personal belongings. At one point, one of the crew members casually pointed out to the other person that the box on the bottom of the dolly must be a light one because it was crushed! I grew up in the military, moving quite frequently. I know how to pack securely. I do not, however, know how to safeguard my belongings from improper handling. Those boxes contain all my belongings from my artwork to family heirlooms to my collectables. I am extremely worried about the condition of these items. The fact that most of these went into a storage unit while I renovate my property means that I won't even know how much damage was done until I move sometime this summer. I was literally in tears by the time the crew left. I would also like to note that I did reach out to the Abe Lincoln Movers to give them an opportunity to address these issues, but I failed to receive a response. I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of our movers from Abe Lincoln Movers. My boyfriend had a three story house he was moving out of, and the two movers (can't remember their names!) did an exceptional job moving all the furniture and boxes out quickly and carefully. This was the worst moving experience I've ever had. Here are the highlights: - 1 1/2 hours late for an 8:00 am appt. No excuse for that! I was the first appt. of the day for the movers. - They didn't wrap my expensive Crate and Barrel furniture while moving it onto the truck, and when I complained they started double-wrapping EVERYTHING and the move was several hours over the scheduled time (the movers told me they were told they'd be done by 1 pm, and we were finished at about 6 pm) - One of the movers, Damion, broke my shredder and didn't note it on forms or offer to pay for it - They damaged the walls in my apartment, scratched my front door, and apparently had no idea how to get my loveseat out, despite my telling them to to take the feet off - The truck broke down in the middle of moving and it took an hour for them to get it fixed - When I complained to the company while the truck was broken, the OWNER showed up and yelled at me, saying the movers said I had told them to double-wrap everything when I most certainly did not All of this, and I didn't even get offered a discount, or an apology, nothing. Worst moving experience ever! Two and a half hours late and Ron didn't even have the courtesy to call and let me know they were going to be late. By the time I finally got an answer from him, 2 hours later mind you, he said, "we are just leaving our job" which was 45 minutes away. When the movers showed up they took there sweet @$$ time and turns out that they added an extra move to the day and that was the reason they were so late. When Ron showed up and I expected a discount he not only didn't give me one but he tacked on a hundred dollar trip charge that was never discussed. Also I called him to talk about a groupon and he agreed on it, but when it came down to the bill he said he can't take the groupon unless it's 4 hours or more! Awful awful company! Will never use this crap company again and nobody else should either! Ok Ron, so sorry that I was helping Maggie and the family by being at the move for them, you agreed to the groupon before the movers even showed up, and the truck rental of 100 dollars was never negotiated so needless to say this company is run with no attention to detail and the owner doesn't retain any information the customers express. read more

Ron is one of the most unprofessional "people" I have ever dealt with. I had to be moved twice due to my apartment not being ready for two weeks. On the first round, the movers showed up over an hour late, but I was never contacted, just my parents. They walked away with a nice microwave on that deal, because I couldn't take it, there went $50 dollars and they were tipped nicely. The reason they were late? Ron doesn't keep his trucks running well, so the movers had to go and rent a truck, making them over an hour late for the move. When they finally made it to the storage unit (45 minutes after I left them and still have no idea where they were), Ron was called on my mother's cell phone lambasting his $10.00 an hour employees because they had not finished up with their current job. He was yelling at me as well as at his employees, so this screams to his lack of professionalism. Was I given a courtesy call at 9am when his employees were suppose to arrive? NO! But this gasbag has the audacity to yell and threaten employees on my parents phone like a bully on my time (I am the one paying for these movers and he was on the phone for over 15 minutes berating his employee Eric). On the second move, they were late again, with yet another broken down truck, and this time, despite requesting the same two movers, we were sent two different people, and I was bilked out of a great deal of money on this move, and some very expensive cookware was stolen from me by one of the movers. My desk was broken, in multiple places, and destroyed, leaving me sans a working desk. They weren't going to set up my dining room table, I had to ask them to do it. Um, this is part of the moving process is it not? It is! We were nice enough to buy the movers lunch, and made sure they were comfortable, yet movers stole from me. No wonder these guys moonlight on the side, Ron pays them crap wages. After my parents made numerous phones to Ron and Shandi regarding my lost/STOLEN items and I was promised multiple phone calls by Ron (who never once called me regarding the poor service), Shandi called me promising me a check for $100 dollars to make it right for the missing/STOLEN cookware. I never got the check, so basically this company is nothing but a ripoff and will steal your stuff, break your items, and them leave you without anything. They didn't even pay me based off of the typical .60 cent valuation per contract. Run fast and avoid this scam company at all costs. We were recommended this company from friends who said they had a great experience with Abe Lincoln Movers, but after what I have experienced, I would say they are nothing but scam artists and Ron is a poor excuse for a business man and has very poor customer service skills. EXCELLENT experience with these guys. We moved out of our second story apartment on a day of a major winter storm with temperatures that didn't' rise above 5 degrees all day. Our two movers, Geoff and Lael never skipped a beat. They worked for 8 hours solid. They were courteous and professional but made us feel very at ease with their presence. They were never once idle and despite some heavy furniture and tricky corners they got everything out of the apartment and into the new house without a single scratch. We could not be more thrilled. 1.5 hrs late and business office / receptionist doesn't provide what they promise. They do their business over the phone. I would suggest getting stuff in writing or email. I saw a Groupon for Abe Lincoln movers and did some review reading about the company and decided to give it a go. I did not have nearly the same experience as the rest of the reviewers. 1. I called the company and spoke with the owner Ron 6 weeks before my move and scheduled the appointment for a 24 foot truck. 2. I was called a day before the move to confirm and was asked if I thought a 16 foot truck would be best. I was told that is what is needed for 2 bedroom apartment by the receptionist. I told her Ron offered me a 24 foot truck and I would prefer to keep the bigger one. She told me she would discuss with him and call me back. 3. She never called me back. Fast forward to the day of the move. They were scheduled to be at my place at 9 a.m. at 8:50 she called and said they were running 10 to 20 minutes late. 4. They ended up showing up an hour and a half late. I was never told they do not own trucks they rent them before every move. 5. When discussing this with Ron 6 weeks prior he never informed me that there was a $100 truck renting fee that I had to pay. 6. I wish I could remember the movers names. One was younger and very good and professional. The other was not very social and very rough with the boxes 7. At my storage unit he was flipping boxes upside down and tossing them on top of other boxes. I finally had to speak up and nothing changed. The younger Mover did pull the other mover aside to speak to him 8. When the 16 foot truck arrived I called the receptionist to tell her the all of our stuff might not fit and I was expecting a 24 foot truck. She told me that if two trips across town had to be made they would compensate me 9. When my four hours was up not all the boxes had been moved I called the receptionist and her story changed on compensating me for if the four hours was maxed out 10. In the end I ended up doing a load by myself the next day with a rentrd uhaul. The receptionist told me since I had a groupon the only discount she could give me me was $50 off the truck renting fee because they would lose revenue. I will never use or recommend Abe Lincoln Movers. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the younger mover was very polite and professional and did an excellent job. read more

I had used Abe Lincoln Movers several times. This last move was disappointing regarding the conditioan of some of my furniture. The leather sofa, ottoman and chair had scrapes where the died leather had been scratched off. When I spoke with the owner I received no response on rectifing this situation. I even asked for a referral that I could call with not response. I would not recommend this company as they do not follow through after you have paid for the move. read more

The worst! Property stolen and damaged! Avoid! We hired Abe Lincoln Movers (Ron Ferguson owner) to move our property form a different storage unit for long term storage of our 3,500 sq/ft home while we lived abroad. They told us they used "PODS" for long-term storage, That was a lie as we learned they actually stored our property in an open aired warehouse with only sheets of loose plywood separating our property! Ron employees a revolving door of workers without inventory controls or oversight. We had in excess of $10,000 of property stolen; with just as much damaged or rendered unusable. Ron Ferguson is also a stand-up comedian (true story) and splits his time between Denver and LA. Due to his focus on his comedy career, he leaves the operation of his moving business to unsupervised workers with the expected result. Multiple attempts to resolve this mater with him via compromise (we paid him over $20,000 over the course of 30 months of storage and two moves) have gone unanswered.
