It smelled nice and everything was clean. The art was tasteful. They sterilized everything and showed us the chemical strip that showed that everything was sterilized. Nicholas was warm and kind and answered all my questions. I was shocked at how painless my septum piercing went; I wanted to add on a service but got scared. This was my first experience under the gun, and the staff there was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. The woman at the front desk (I didn't get her name, sadly,) spent a long time talking about placement with me, transferring my design to paper in different sizes and laying them out on my arm to see where they would fit best, how to get the best layout for what I wanted, etc. Because my work was rather simple, I was able to meet with an artist named Lisa immediately and discuss the process further and review some of my options. (Side note - I had already been to another tattoo place in town that morning, and I just hadn't liked the vibe of the place. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the other shop, as they've got a great reputation. It just wasn't a good fit for for me, and I wanted to make sure I was in good hands for a major step like this one.) Lisa was available to do the tattoo right then, and the entire appointment took just under an hour. I am terrified of needles, so I had anticipated having someone sit on my chest to get me through the ordeal. Not only didn't it hurt, it wasn't even vaguely uncomfortable; I was actually disappointed when the whole thing was over. I'm sure a large part of this was due in fact to Lisa's skill with the gun as well as her ability to keep me talking while the tattoo was being done. I'm an English teacher, and we probably spent 90% of our time together talking about short stories that we love. In all, I could not have had a better experience. I have been a client for yearssss and I have had the pleasure of being tattooed by many artists there. You are never "Pawned" on a lesser artist. Everyone that works there is Stellar. Jim and Tracey want nothing but the best for their clients. I appreciate that they are willing to let their other artists take on clientele if they can't be fit into their own schedules. They would never force anyone to get a tattoo with someone else, only offer the choice. No matter who you go to there, you will come out with an amazing piece of art. In fact, I'm going again on Wednesday. I will only go to Lucky Soul and I told my kids they can get tattoos but they have to be done there.
